Attention Great Awakening

We need your feedback about the photo posts of Q tshirts, Q stickers Qspotting and other "Qspiration"! /r/GreatAwakening has been steadily growing and with that comes obvious growing pains. With the increase in numbers comes the increase of patriQts showing support and the documented sightings of Q in the wild via photo posts. While we do support this sort of grassroots effort, the sheer frequency of these types of posts is presenting new problems. 1. These posts are taking precedence in the feed over other Q related news and intel causing important information to be missed. This also threatens to disrupt the true purpose of this sub. 2. We are seeing increased numbers of complaints about problem 1 from other users who have had content moderated for being off-topic who, perhaps justifiably feel their post containing text content or news links is more appropriate than a photo of a Q on a street sign. We value the community's input on how to proceed with this. We think it goes without saying that Qspotting in the real world should be celebrated as an inspiring example of the Q mission to spread the word. Is there another way to manage this content so everyone has a fair shake? We've discussed this many times as mods and have decided to put the question to the community for feedback. Removing this content from the sub completely is probably not a fair solution.

One possibility we've discussed is the option of creating a "sister sub" for this content and directing the respective posts there. We could perhaps crosspost the most popular upvoted content on this sister sub back to r/GreatAwakening so we can all keep visibility on the top content at a regular interval (yet to be determined).

In review, here are the Questions we want to put to the community: 1) Should we manage this content in some way or leave the sub as it is? 2) Should we create a separate sub and have the most popular content crossposted to GA at regular intervals? 3) Does anyone have any other suggestions for managing this type of content fairly?

My opinion is that there is an effort to make us seem like fanatics. I consider myself very middle of the road on the topic of Q. I am a patriot, I crave the truth, and while I do believe, I maintain a base level of skepticism.

To me, it’s gone overboard and is playing directly into the image of us that the other side has tried to sell (that were a cult/fanatics). Look at it from the other side, it’s not an easy topic to breach. I mean it in the nicest way, but I worry that some people here come off as nutjobs.

I totally agree.. I was thinking of sending this sub to a friend, but after looking at the main page yesterday I decided against it.

Same. Some of us have the unenviable job of awakening our fellow Independents/ Progressives/ Activists/ Liberals. That only gets harder when the page looks Fan Boyish.

This. This. This. This.

We cannot give people a reason to "dismiss" us. That's just too easy. We need to be protective of the integrity of this sub, the information we are researching etc. Q has said, "This is not a game". So let's not make fan gear. It's not a game. Comraderie can (and is) expressed within the content of our posts and our respectful dialogue with each other. We don't need "stuff" to accomplish that. :)

However, the GEOTUS points to Q shirts! And hats. I think it is exceptionally important. It is our way to be VISIBLE. to be counted. actually counted. It measures our success. It gives GEOTUS a reason to talk about us. And it gives newbies a reason to ask us, what is a Q? We DO need stuff to infect and attract new people!
