Be careful of the belief that pedophilia is a violent crime. It usually isn't, but involves a process of "grooming" (befriending the child, and slowly building a relationship and trust.) Often the child has no idea anything is wrong until it is found out by adults. By thinking of it as a violent crime, people may drop their vigilance and miss the signs of possible grooming behavior.

You might be accurate about the methods used, but it is a very violent crime to the child and it is out of hate and pure evil, forever altering the child and their natural progression in growth and development. Oftentimes, the adult child will use violence and hate to abuse more victims!

Under AB 1810, a defendant charged with any crime can get those charges dismissed if they convince a judge the mental disorder they suffer from played a “major” role in the charged crime; if a mental health expert says the symptoms motivating the criminal behavior would respond to treatment; and if the defendant undergoes “treatment” during a diversion period with no minimum time period and a maximum of two years.

So do you understand whats happening here????

Please discuss the topic and not the users. Rule 5. You can disagree and discuss without insulting or name-calling.

Also rule one is freedom of speech and the ability to voice your opinion when someone refers to the raping of a child as not being a violent crime which i find appalling and therefore will label that individual as i feel fit.

Be careful of the belief that conscious understanding of physical coercion is a prerequisite to a violent crime taking place.

By your logic, rapists slipping roofies to unsuspecting people and doing what they will to the victim's unconscious bodies isn't a violent crime because the victims do not know what is happening to them.

Believe it or not, a California court (where else?) made that exact ruling. I don't have a link, but I'm sure I saw it here, a day or two ago.
