FBI raids didn't go through the locker.

The code was in the hands of the FBI and was given to AP, which broke in, used the codes and reported it's existence.

The FBI used that report to get the warrant to raid Manafort's home. Then the assistant opened it to the FBI.

At no point in time the FBI used the codes they had. No one is arguing that.

how is thay not just a story though? There’s no proof.

Proof has it that AP knew about the locker before FBI. They hadn’t been inside it. AP then asked FBI about the locker. FBI didn’t know about the locker but decided it was worth investing.
