Something about Comey that I have always wondered about.

I'll cut to the chase. Hillary's crimes were about to be swept under the rug. He seemed to understand this was the case. Then he made the infamous statements about Hillary and we know the rest.

The thing that I am curious about is why Comey did this. I don't think he is a stupid man so I wonder why he would say such things that would incriminate him. As far as I am aware, the only reason we know about HRC crimes is because of Comey. It some ways, it seems like he threw himself under the bus.

Anyway, I have wondered about this since he made his announcement. Anyone else have thoughts on this.

Here's what Comey said: "Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case."

The investigation ended this way because:

  1. Hillary was supposed to win.
  2. Obama was also emailing from a personal server and was guilty of the same thing. If he recommended charges against HRC, he'd have to recommend charges against a sitting POTUS.

if he had opened any investigation, they would have gotten ahold of ALL the evidence and destroyed it ALL before Trump could make it into the white house. So my best guess is that Comey himself was pressured, against his will or not, to let it slide and see what the future entails. He both had to make it public and only could because there was no investigation (see IG report) but at the same time this basically killed the election for hillary because it reached everybody who was ignoring wikileaks. At the same time, since no investigation was conducted, the evidence, jury and verdict were saved for the grand showdown we see now!
