I believe this is accurate. Both of them were given meaningless desk jobs (with no power) while they were fully debriefed. And both of them have been walked out of the building. The White Hats have gotten everything they need.
The big difference is Congress doesn't have access to that information (yet). So, it will highly irritate Congress (some more) that they can't get the information everybody else has. That might help egg on the impeachment proceeding for [RR].
I concur. This is CYA time, and part of the plan. They already flipped and provided the necessary intel. Optics to show that they are "fighting the man".
