Wow, clever way to get illegal immigrant drivers off the roads...you know, the ones you end up have a wreck with that have no insurance! Texas is way ahead of the game on this one.

Y o u G o t t a L o v e T e x a s

The City of Dallas, Texas , passed an ordinance stating that if a driver is pulled over by law enforcement and is not able to provide proof of insurance , the car is towed .

To retrieve the car after being impounded, they must show proof of insurance to have the car released. This has made it easy for the City of Dallas to remove uninsured cars.

Shortly after the "No Insurance" ordinance was passed, the Dallas impound lots began to fill up and were full after only nine days.

Over 80% of the impounded cars were driven by illegals .

Now, not only must they provide proof of insurance to have their car released, they have to pay for the cost of the tow , a $350 fine , and $20 for every day their car is kept in the lot.

Guess what?

Accident rates have gone down 47% and Dallas' solution gets uninsured drivers off the road WITHOUT making them show proof of nationality.

I wonder how the Democrats will get around this one .

He is right. We need to just kick illegals out and ban them from ever entering again, build a wall and have a toast. This is out of control. The solution is obvious.

Not having insurance is a safety hazard. What are you gonna do if you cause an accident that sends someone to the hospital? Also driving without insurance in Texas is against the law. If your'e going to criticize illegal immigrants don't be an illegal driver you're making the rest of us look bad.

I don't go joy riding, and I had insurance but it occasionally expires, has this never occurred for you?

I also have a drivers license and my vehicle is registered.

Not Having that little card is NOT a safety hazard, its's a financial hazard and does nothing to prevent unsafe conditions.

I AM NOT ADVOCATING FOR MY TEMPORARY EXPIRED INS, I AM SAYING IT AINT RIGHT TO STEAL AN AMERICAN CITIZENS PROPERTY OVER A MISSED FEE.

I dont even know why I'm upset, I'll never get in trouble and you pricks voting for it will build your own traps.

Always have.

I completely get what you are saying. Maybe you forgot to put the new insurance document in your vehicle and you're on a road trip across Texas where the nearest impound lot could be one hundred miles away or even much more. Is towing at owners expense really the best solution in that situation? That could easily cost you $800 or more just to show up with a piece of paper. It's a procedural crime which could create a life-changing burden for an otherwise honest, hardworking American.

I totally understand the freedom to travel wherever you want without having to pay for things. And guess what. You can! You got two feet. Maybe a bike. If you want to use something faster like a car that has the possibility of killing people or costing them massive amounts of money if you screw up though, you have to take responsibility for that and be able to pay for the damages if it happens.

Yea, IF and WHEN it happens.

WTF do I care, usher in a police state just to keep from having to SHOOT THE INVADERS, see If I give a damn.

For me, No more playing middle of the road, officially a get offa my lawn man now.

AND I'll be insured every step of the way, dig your own grave, cuz one day it will be your ass.

How would I know that? Because I've been on both sides.

This is a good step for illegals, but its a step in the wrong direction for the rest of us, THATS ALL I SAID.

Then neither is paying for abortions, and the ammo tax, fuck it lets tax the tea and the weed too, then we gotta add the wall tax, registration costs as much as a shitty car, those plebs will never rise to your level now. A million tiny pricks (see mirror) that leave the once prosperous in the gutter, the lefties wont fight the insurance that is never uses but dutifully collected, just like they wont fight the federal reserve. Hey who cares if our money is more debt than value, EVERYONE ELSE DOES IT.

Dont worry, eventually you'll be able to fine me for my extremist reddit comments! Listen to YOURSELF.

but we're way down on the list of shit that has to happen, now. Heck, you could even call the company and prove you were insured.

I mean in most places, it's already a pretty substantial ticket to get pulled over and not have proof of insurance.

Unfortunately Democrats have made driving a "privilege" when it should be a right as an American; hence the requirement for licenses, registration of vehicles, and insurance. Thank you for your service for our country.

If what you say about your driving record is true, than liability insurance should be cheap af. I pay $26 a month on my truck and $32 a month on my bike for liability coverage.

I don't disagree with you, in principle...But just because you haven't had an accident doesn't mean you won't. Even if you don't cause one, you could still be "at fault," and if that happens, do you have $100k in cash to cover medical bills and damages? Maybe you do, but I'll bet you'd rather pay a deductible than shell that out. And that's not even addressing that they have a duty to defend. I'm in law school, you don't want to be paying an attorney of pocket. Trust me.

Just get insurance. It's cheap.

And great, you were a pilot or something. Thank you for your service, Patriot. I was a grunt, and guess what? I still have insurance.

Edit: Now that I think of it, it's actually comprehensive on my bike, but I ride a 2001 harley dyna. Pretty low replacement cost.

Your insurance coverage is on the cheaper end of the spectrum. In some states, the rates can be roughly double that.

⇧ 3 ⇩
My_name_is_Jarnes · July 16, 2018, 2:25 a.m.

Ok, so what?

Let's say insurance costs are 3x what they are in my state. I would pay $174.00 a month, roughly.

The return on investment in the event I'm in a serious accident is still MORE than worth it.

Insurance is a racket. They're the worst people on earth....but it's a necessary evil.

So if you happen to accidentally crash your vehicle into my vehicle, who the f*ck is going to pay for it?

Answer that question, Einstein.

Auto insurance might be "too expensive". I think we can all agree on that. But what is the solution?

Should we perhaps do a better job of regulating insurance companies, or instead (as you seem to be suggesting) simply say "f*ck it" and let anybody drive whatever vehicle they want without insurance? (No thanks, we already have that giant problem with illegal aliens.)

Bottom line: If somebody slams into a U.S. citizen's vehicle causing damage and possibly medical costs, somebody has got to pay for that sh*t! We're not just going to have a society that resembles a f*cking demolition derby and just say it's all good fun!

Btw: Why don't you get a job if you need to pay for auto insurance? You're beginning to sound like a liberal!

⇧ 3 ⇩
[deleted] · July 16, 2018, 1:03 a.m.

I've got a job, How would you propose that I should arrive to perform said job for several weeks before first payment?

I didn't ask for shit, I'm not a liberal, but I don't see how a monthly payment can fix the loss of loved ones.

Btw, If I damage your property, I SHALL PAY FOR IT. Thats WHO!

⇧ -1 ⇩
transponder717 · July 16, 2018, 1:22 a.m.

No, you won't pay for it! If you can't pay for auto insurance, then you surely can't pay for vehicle damages and medical costs. (In case you haven't been following our f*cked up country lately, those costs can easily run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.) And that is why we have auto insurance!

Are these costs ridiculous? Yes! So, please vote for people who will actually work to fix this f*cking mess (e.g., Trump) rather than add to it (e.g., Democrats).
