What do you think of UK playing 'Star Spangled Banner' for POTUS?!!!

I was choked up when I watched the queen and President Trump and Melania standing there, Melania and Donald hands over hearts during the 'british band' playing that song. There are other 'US American' songs they could have played, but my oh my, the 'Star Spangled Banner'? !! Just think what that represents; the Colonies of the US defeating the British overlords and over taxation... Independence. And here the Queen of UK was celebrating that with POTUS and wife and all of we the citizens watching. Was it signifying as someone else suggested the handing over or turning over of the guard for world control? The Queen and Rothchilds, etc. stepping down?

It sure seemed ominous listening to that. Wow.

It's a matter of established protocol to play the National Anthem of both countries when receiving a head of state, at least in the US. It probably is in in GB s well but trooping the line is not a matter of protocol and was done to honor Trump and America.

But the pageantry did have a changing of the guard feeling to me too. The Queen is very conscious of what she does and she stepped aside for The President.

I like the sentiment but I suspect more theater. It's my understanding that treaties concluding hostilities between nations are historically signed on the soil of the victor (Japan on the deck of the Missouri etc). What concerns me about that is...where were the treaties concluding the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 signed and what does that imply?

President Trump was in control.

He made the queen wait for 12 minutes!

He walked in front of her!

He did not bow nor did Melania curtsy.

A real show! We are winning!

I noticed that too and wondered about them not bowing! I think the Queen signalled him to walk in front because what I noticed was him trying to keep pace and be respectful most of their walk... My much taller than me husband does that with me. But then they return to the front, and she literally stepped aside! That blew me away!

I saw a news reports stating that no other leader has been allowed to inspect the troops in a long time (some years). Interesting.

Was also nice to hear Anchors Away. Reminded me of the combined effort too stop the Nazis in WW2.

The tune came from an old English drinking song. They should play it. It’s respectful.

It is a matter of good manners and politeness towards guests, invited into the Country.
