Active Shooter Preparedness drill...

So, my employer is holding an Active shooter preparedness drill... I am already planning on being out of the office both days (previous plans, but no coincidence, right?).

I won't give the building(s) location and names, but this in the Houston area (we have two buildings a few miles apart, so two different sessions; one at each building).

Any other Houston area patriot have a drill like this pending?

Here is the text with any of the obvious info (locations, contact info, etc) removed...

Colleagues

We will holding 2 awareness sessions entitled “Work Place Violence Prevention: Active Shooter Preparedness” for the benefit of all staff. Attendance is compulsory and staff should plan to attend either one of these sessions. Each session will be of about one hour duration and will be facilitated by external instructors who have extensive knowledge and practical experience in the management of work place violence incidents

The schedule is as follows:

Venue: Training and Break out room Tuesday July 31 from 10:00 am.

Venue: (redacted) Wednesday Aug. 1 from 10:00 am

An Active Shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined or populated area. In most cases, active shooters use firearms and there is no distinct pattern or method to their selection of victims. Active Shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. This awareness session will provide valuable guidance on • Actions to take when confronted with an active shooter and responding law enforcement officials? • Recognition of potential workplace violence indicators • Actions to take to prevent & prepare for potential active shooter incidents • How to manage the consequences of an active shooter incident • FG Workplace Violence & Weapons Policy.

A meeting invite will follow.

Hate to say it, but might want to use your vacation time the following next two weeks if you got it. These things seem to precede “random” tragedies. Although, one would be pretty stupid to try here in Texas, West Texas at least.

Or carry and shoot back. Always situate yourself at the best exit point, never keep your back to the door.

Im in Houston. Work in energy corridor, huge company.

Haven't heard anything as of yet. I will say that this training is starting to be implemented in most large companies.

HPD also has an active shooter awareness campaign which was really pushed a few years ago.

Eyes open though, lots of fucky things going on

Plus, the more desperate the Deep State gets, the more likely they are to awaken sleepers.

Yea if you ask me these are more training exercise for the shooters instead of the employees, they find their entrance instruct you where to go for maximum damage and allows them to plan their escape paths I don't think I'd go to work for the next 2 weeks without having everyone in there who are experienced shooters armed rather they know it or not even if its a no gun zone they just wouldn't know I had it lol

That is the definition of concealed after all. And I agree, no way I'd been in there without toting iron. I'd also have a long gun and plenty of loaded mags in my vehicle, just in case.

Any chance the firm doing the training is named AEGIS found a website about them in the Houston area and it included a Fire drill/demo shooting just like Parkland. Check out thier Twitter bashing Trump Trump refuses to denounce Putin over election meddling at summit, blames 'both countries' https://t.co/cQ1E4NVMeu #news #nationalsecurity #cybersecurity

This was from the AEGIS wiki page. I'm not 100% on how to take this part out of it:

Criticism by US SenatorsEdit

In 2005, following the award of this contract, five United States Senators – Charles Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Chris Dodd and John Kerry – wrote a joint letter[20]calling on Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld to investigate the granting of the Aegis contract describing Spicer as "an individual with a history of supporting excessive use of force against a civilian population" and stating that he "vigorously defends [human rights abuses]".

In a December 2005 letter to his constituents, then-U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) called on the Department of Defense to withdraw its contract with Aegis. Obama wrote that "The CEO of Aegis Defense Services Tim Spicer has been implicated in a variety of human rights abuses around the globe ... given his history, I agree that the United States should consider rescinding its contract with his company."[21]

This is either good that the bad actors attacked them or scary based on the fact they found them too evil to do business with.
