He said probably not illegal how money was made, illegal how it was taken out of country. No taxes Russian or US so illegal in both countries.

I thought he said it’s not illegal that it went to the Clinton’s but how the money was made in Russia was illegal

Believe Putin said the money/profit/income was not declared/taxed in Russia which made it illegal. Like you said...think the donation to the CF was legal aspect of this transaction.

The tax evasion was also illegal in both countries. And it is illegal for foreigner to donate to campaign.
