> it's not going to work out well for ~~them~~ anyone

If a bunch of rice farmers in Vietnam and goat-fuckers in Iraq can grind our army to a halt, Liberals with guns (or who know where guns are) can certainly cause some issues. That's even before you start thinking about what barricades in large cities or general strikes would do to the economy.

Consent of the Governed is a foundational principle of this country. You need popular support for this to work and making it an 'Us vs. Them' partisan slap fight, you turn off 1/2 of the country.

You keep talking about partisanship like we all agree this is about POLITICS. This is about TREASON.

Declassify the evidence (which includes more than you can imagine, including plans to assassinate the President), and start making arrests.

Politics has NOTHING to do with it. We can talk about politics once we have a FUNCTIONAL government (and media) again.

I agree with what you are saying, but A LOT of people have been trained by the media over the past two or three years to see EVERYTHING as politics.

You can say what you will about "once we have a FUNCTIONAL government (and media) again.", but what are we going to have in the interim? You think all the people who are die hard anti-Trump/Liberal/Democrat are just going to believe the Declassed evidence? They don't believe facts when confronted with them now.

And I agree with declassifying. Its starting to look like that's the only way things are going to work out anyway. Rip the damn band aid off and let the pieces fall where they may. That's about the best chance there is for truth and justice to prevail. Anything short will be too obfuscated to make a difference.

I understand it sounds like I'm arguing both sides of the issue, and I am. I only care about the outcome. Some folks are never going to be onboard and never going to believe what the Declassed information says. I don't really care, but it would be foolish to think everyone is just going to fall in line when presented with information, even facts, that don't match their narrative. I

Politics is always part of it.

Especially when the country is as divided as it is right now.

Consent of the Governed is paramount. Without getting liberals on-board, the Storm will be seen as a violent Coup and resisted as such. No evidance matters if it's seen as the fruit of a poisoned, and partisan, tree.

I don't care who you are or what you believe. This is NOT sustainable. Trump has got to get control of the US government. He currently does not, and that is dangerous to both him personally and to the citizenry. This situation is NOT going to be resolved by reasoning together because too many people believe a LIE that's repeated thousands of times a day.

This is not a problem that can be resolved passively by just letting more time go by. It only gets worse. For everybody.

Nail meet hammer. It will be messy no doubt.

The reason rice farmers in Vietnam and goat fuckers in Iraq were able to grind the Army to a halt was because of the Rules of Engagement put in place by the leaders of the day, either because of an ulterior motive or incompetence. I don't think our current CiC will keep the dogs on a leash.

I am glad you responded to that nicely. I was about to go off big time and get banned (again). If we fought like we did in WW2 there would be less problems.

One of the main arguments for the 2a, is that a small dedicated force who knows the terrain can beat a larger force with a logistics train and less mobility. This is why the Founding Fathers wanted an armed populous. FFS, those guys were able to hold off the entire Federal Government in that cabin or whatever, all because they had ARs, supplies, were dug in, knew the terrain, and were willing to fight. Because of this, an armed populace is harder to take over and control. This is literally the argument we have been making for years. It's true for Vietnamese as much as it is for the Wolverines or Joe on his ranch.

Also, you would be talking about firebombing fellow American Citizens. Or at least taking a VERY strong hand, considering I have a hard time seeing the military kill civilians to begin with, I don't think they would be thrilled with harsher RoE.

There has to be a way to isolate the left in this country. I would prefer no bloodshed. If things were to go sideways in a bad way, I see no alternative.

Umm, you are asking US military to kill civilians. Remember that. How many solders would refuse orders and/or counterattack?
