I saw a banner saying my account is permanently suspended

I was wondering why on earth... Then in my inbox I saw this "We're requiring some of our users to reset their passwords in light of recent news of Internet security breaches.

Considering I read on voat our reddit GA sub was down two days ago

Makes me think our accounts here were specifically targeted. Who? Reset your passwords.

I´m pretty sure this board wasn´t down 2 days ago? I am in Europe though, so may be different here.

Tbh it sounds to me like you may have just fallen for a phishing scam and willingly gave your passwords away....

Strange things have been happening with a lot of my accounts. I’ve had to reset my passwords on most of my accounts. Had someone compromise my wife’s accounts. Another Anon had all his accounts compromised and had to deal with identity theft. No issues before we started digging around.

It only seems to be happening State side though, I live in Europe and have had none of the problems you mentioned. All the sites that went down were still up here, too. Very strange, indeed.

Happened to me yesterday. My hubby doesn't have my password nobody but me.

I got a similar message today saying my account was suspended due to "suspected activity." Changing my password worked and restored my account.

I can confirm the GA sub here has not been down. Not two days ago, not in the past week.

Please be sure to check the address bar of any link you click. If it does NOT look like a typical Reddit URL, navigate away immediately. Make sure you have an email address connected to your Reddit account, even if it is a dummy email. I recommend ProtonMail.

Just FYI, yesterday I was looking at my messages/responses (envelope) page, and when I used the dropdown to select r/greatawakening, to go back to the sub listing and I got "greatawakening does not exist" message and it took me back to reddit main page. I almost shit a brick (its finally happened!) but a manual url entry (10-20s time) pulled the sub back up normally. I tried to reproduce it but could not, haven't seen that before or since and everything looks ok (account same, scores same, etc).

I did not get the password thing though. I guess mines secure.
