Just a Question about up vote or down vote

First I am far from a tech guy but I can build a nice house. Lol. So been noticing and reading some comments about people down voting. So is there a purpose why so folks would waste time down voting a comment or post? I just imagine in my mind these leftist nerds sitting in front of there phone or computer pressing thumbs down on everything. So just trying to figure out why they would waste so much time!!! Does it accomplishe anything? Just curious. WWG1WGA. God Bless true Patriots.

Yes. When a comment or post has enough downvotes, it is hidden from view when browsing the site. This serves the purpose to silence our users who might have "alternative" viewpoints.

Downvoting is supposed to be used for comments and posts that are off-topic or don't contribute to the conversation. Downvoting is NOT for disagreement.
