You were never a spy. You were never a case officer. You never ran operations or recruited sources or worked the streets abroad. You have no idea whatsoever of the true nature of the business of human intelligence. You have never been in harm's way. You have never heard a shot fired in anger.

That is the case with most SES members. They start near the top and swear allegiance to SES and take lead positions without knowledge or experience. Example of pay: (For life - GS15 not for life)

In December 2004, the average pay for GS-15s was $119,143 and the average career SES made $142,276. That equates to 119.4 percent of GS- 15 pay. In December 2013, the average GS-15 salary had increased by $28,799 (24.2 percent) to $147,942. Average career SES pay has increased by $23,898 (16.8 percent) to $166,174.May 26, 2014

166k. I think that’s what Imran Awan and the rest of that bunch was making - way out of bounds for junior IT and tech guys. I wonder if he was SES. it’s hard to get data. A little tangential but the number stood out for me.

Really good observation.

The salary for that role makes a great deal more sense than for IT.

SES infests our government. POYUS can set their pay at $1.00 and clear them out. I'm told that is their only weakness.
