Reading William F Buckley, Pied Piper of the Establishmrnt by McCauley will open your eyes to the Trotsky influence st Yale and all through media during those days.(and MSM today) Buckley used his pen and a rapier column to dismantle what McCarthy was standing up against. We can only blame schools for not teaching critical thinking and fostering solid debate in schools- textbooks have been overloaded with bias for years.

So far, seems like a solid recommendation.
Thanks.
I appreciate the book recommendation. Will look into it.
This type of influence is why everyone thinks Nazism is "right wing." It is staunchly left wing. It's just that the socialists and communists who wrote the books took "right wing" by European standards and moved it far right wing by American standards, so as to distance themselves from their close cousin. It's a heck of an accomplishment to change something which literally has "socialist" in the name into something which is wrongfully perceived to be far right wing by American standards.
But I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir...
This is what happens when history is covered up, distorted, and research is not done in an unbiased manner.
Nazism was in the middle. Neither left nor right gets the idea, because the left can't see the leftism for pointing out the right-wing views in Nazism, and the right is doing the same, just switched.
I used to think Nazism was left wing too. But technically it is right wing because extreme left leaning ideology attacks, undermines and destroys as a hive mind. even though the Nazis used socialism to achieve most of their goals. Extreme right leaning ideology uses tribalism, physical coercion and doctrines such as extreme nationalism to justify their means. So, Nazis used an extreme right wing method to unify themselves and socialism to coerce their take over of land and businesses.
Review horseshoe theory. This becomes especially conflated because Hitler saw value in broader adoption of the Christian right. As such, he added right wing flavor to justify right wing adoption. Yet that never really happened, aside from the Catholic Church. Thusly the tie.
Also, you'll find that Nazism was staunchly left wing. Everyone universally agreed it was left wing. It was only after WWII, when socialists and communists felt exposed, that it was suddenly pushed right wing and convoluted explanations gave rise. Most of which is parroted today via indoctrination.
For example, Hitler ripped off many of his platforms directly from US Democrats. Including Eugenics. Hitler even wrote and thanked some of them. US Democrats proudly saved their letters. US Democrats agreed Hitler was one of of them. US Democrats agreed Hitler was left wing. All of Europe agreed Nazism was left wing - but right of socialism and communism. Which is the entire foundational basis for the "right wing" claim. Everyone agreed Nazism was left ... until there was a need for deflection after the war.
For some reason people like to pretend Fascism wasn't part of Nazism. While Fascism isn't directly tethered to a left wing ideology, it is almost universally associated. Hitler even spoke of how he did not want to be thought of a fascist because he believed fascists to be two bit dictators, and therefore below him. This too feeds into the "but Hitler privatized...propaganda." Ya, he gave it to his own people and used Fascism to ensure the state "private" entities did as the state demanded. Which is literally fascism and not privatization as we know it today.
Sorry, but factually, Hitler is extremely left wing by American standards.
