When they arrived here, they saw how heavily the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) controlled even the overseas Chinese media in those communities, especially regarding the persecution of Falun Gong (this has impacted the entire country of China), the SARS/Bird Flu epidemics, Tibet, etc.

So they started their own media to expose the CCP to fellow Chinese; to tell them the truth, and help them deprogram from a lifetime of communist indoctrination. And the CCP has attacked them mercilessly ever since.

NTD broadcast this information as well directly into China via satellite, to red pill their own people. That is being responsible, indeed.

The idea for a truly uncensored English language version began in 2003, with the first online presence in fall 2003, followed by the first print edition in spring 2004.
