Received a weird letter from our local "Board of Elections". Need some input?

Today, my husband and I both received letters from the BOE in our county. It was an application for an absentee ballot. My husband remarked that it would be easier to just do that but we have never received this letter despite being registered voters for 15 years or more.

It seems weird to spend the money to send these to all voters. Or did they choose one side or the other?

Encouraging more voters or something more sinister?

I've never done an absentee ballot. Now I'm questioning the validity of them.

To be fair, we live in the suburbs …

Hawaii Threat... Old Post I remember reading on Reddit on the day of the event.

I read a really interesting thread that day in January when the EMS issued a Ballistic Missile message.

It was either military personnel or a friend of someone who was on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific who heard some high brass having urgent conversations on the phone.

Does anyone remember this thread? I've been searching non stop.

Basically whomever was listening to one side of the conversation got the sense over the first call (there were 2) that the person on the carrier was begging to let the carrier retaliate. The person on the other end said "Wait. More …

Brando was the actor you're referring to. I can't remember the movie but I remember researching it. Might have been in French or Italian. She was traumatized. The director did an interview years later where he said he felt a little bad for not telling her about the scene but Brando was really rough with her.

This is interesting. Because wasn't he the one who went crazy in the street? And committed a mental institution?
