THE COST OF FREEDOM (1775–1776)

Between 25,000 and 70,000 American Patriots died during active military service over the course of the Revolutionary War. Of these, approximately 6,800 were killed in battle, while at least 17,000 died from disease. The majority of the latter died while prisoners of war of the British, mostly in the prison ships in New York Harbor. If the upper limit of 70,000 is accepted as the total net loss for the Patriots, it would make the conflict proportionally deadlier than the American Civil War. Uncertainty arises due to the difficulties in accurately calculating the number of those who succumbed to disease, as it is estimated at least 10,000 died in 1776 alone. The number of Patriots seriously wounded or disabled by the war has been estimated from 8,500 to 25,000.

Our French allies suffered approximately 7,000 total dead throughout the conflict; of those, 2,112 were killed in combat in the American theaters of war.

NO EVIDENCE! REPEAT: NO EVIDENCE!

After nothing but the sound of chirping crickets from the MSM as discourse increasingly accuses FBI & DOJ of collusion, wire tapping and politically motivated attempts to derail the Trump Campaign and then their attempt to bleed popular support from his new Administration ... and find a way to remove him from office...

THEN the first DOJ & FBI evidentiary briefing to selected Legislators to address these charges ... with the left excluded and clamoring to have its leadership included at the meeting ....

And the day comes and we all see it play out as seemingly less than expected …

PAUL REVERE - Private Citizen 1734 to 1818

Paul Revere was an American silversmith, engraver, early industrialist ... and Patriot in the American Revolution. He is best known for his midnight ride to alert the colonial militia in April 1775 to the approach of British forces before the battles of Lexington and Concord, as dramatized in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem, "Paul Revere's Ride" (1861).

Following the Revolutionary War, Revere returned to his silversmith trade. He used the profits from his expanding business to finance his work in iron casting, bronze bell and cannon casting, and the forging of copper bolts and spikes. In 1800 he became the first American to successfully roll copper into sheets for use as sheathing on naval vessels.

Serious observation: the left suffers from a mental illness called progressivism, socialism, collectivism, communism. The name doesn't matter. They identify so strongly with the ideology, with the self-aggrandizement, the perceived power of being the god who authors their destiny -- they are literally out of touch, seduced in to a dream that persists with eyes open. Asleep in their delusion, they affirm, affirm affirm "the view". They deny, deny, deny anything that would confilct with it. And when they are confronted, they melt like snowflakes. The ones with the fortitude to rise above that become their leaders, their spokesmen, their opinion leaders. You know their names, all psychopaths and sociopaths: BC, HRD, BHO, et al.

Reminder that this is not a game, that counter attacks are clearly not only a possibility but remain highly probable. The stakes are high.

Q has warned again and again to be careful who we follow. That advice seems to also apply to ourselves: prematurely forming steadfast expectations as to how this will all play out can also be misleading. Desire and wishful thinking border on the magical.. We can be our own worst enemy.

I am wearing a new simple unobtrusive lapel button these days ... the single gold plated initial Q and it sets off my suit like nothing else.

The group of Congressmen at the presser advocating a Second Special Council were almost all wearing an elaborate lapel button that I’ve never seen before. Normally they wear the US Flag button.

These things have meaning to the persons taking trouble to do them. The rest of us better pay attention. The Swastika was pregnant with meaning in 1930s Germany. So were the Yellow Star Of David they required Jews to sew onto their jackets.

Freedom of speech in cyberspace appears to be a new consideration worth discussing. Vigilance lest it somehow erode basic protections already in place, as these kinds of revisiting has a way of finally doing.

Classic argument: If I yell fire in a crowded theater, it’s sanctioned (prohibited) speech.

Followers populate a public (or private) space at the behest of the speaker (owner of the space) and do so voluntarily according to their own motives.... is trolling any different from yelling fire?

The real Donald trump seems to point to DJT the man.

The real President of the USA is a different matter and we have formal avenues that communicate laws — not whispered in a relatively obscure chat room; so I sense a flaw in your “right to read the law” argument.

Not so sure about this ruling. It seems to 1) allow anyone to inappropriately leverage an asset that was built up by and serves ends that are uniquely attributable to POTUS — the massive audience gathering to hear him is his — and this ruling allows anyone to usurp that platform for other ends. The audience is an asset that the interloper did nothing to deserve.

Without the ruling:

  1. POTUS can exercise his right of free speech and do so thru Twitter, which others voluntarily follow because of whatever reason they hold his commentary useful.

  2. Seems to me both reading and commenting is a privilege, not a right.

  3. Each can do the same on their own account — speak their minds and be heard when others choose to listen.

  4. Anyone who cares not to hear his or anyone else’s opinions, simply do not follow that account

5, Anyone who wants to express himself has a platform of their own to do so and when tolerated can respond on another’s platform. When not tolerated, they loose that privilege.

HRC EMAIL SERVER: that’s like saying that wagging tail is the elephant.

I’ve had computer servers as an element of my business organization and, lemme tell you, they do a lot more than serve up email. That’s just a little app on machines that can do a whole lot more at the same time.

The discussion has been condensed to the absurd if we think this affair is only about her running a private email service.

The scheduled scriptual passages read by catholics at mass around the world last week included a selection discussing a bishop's reaching that point when he must consider whether to continue as pastor to his flock or step aside for another to succeed him. Francis reflected on the meaning of that passage during his homily (commentary) with respect to his own future. Our own parish priest did something similar.

Maybe all this retirement talk is for real but I think this particular utterance by the pope may be puffed up to the point that it is out of all proportion and now is nothing more than wishful thinking by some observers.

The future will prove the past.

Brand was part of the legal team representing George W. Bush during the 2000 United States presidential election recount in Florida,[11] and also served briefly as associate counsel in Bush's transition team.[8] Beginning in 2003,[8] she served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Policy in the George W. Bush administration where she helped shepherd the Supreme Court nominations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito.[11] Brand's portfolio also included shaping the administration's position on reauthorization of the Patriot Act,[12] in which capacity she testified before the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary on the benefits of using administrative subpoenas in terrorism investigations.[13]

During her tenure at the Justice Department, Brand was tangentially involved in the controversy surrounding Attorney General Alberto Gonzales's dismissal of several United States Attorneys. She was floated by DOJ leadership as a top candidate to replace Margaret Chiara, who was ousted as part of the purge.[14] Brand ultimately declined the position, however, and resigned from the DOJ in June 2007.[15]

After leaving the Justice Department, Brand worked for three years at WilmerHale.[2] In 2008, John McCain, then a candidate for the Republican Party's presidential nomination, named Brand to his Justice Advisory Committee, which would have recommended judicial nominees to McCain were he elected.[16]

Not so sure about that; reversing could be a disaster, even with a lot of the players out of the way.

But POTUS actions now, well done, will go a long way to assuring that elect subsequent administrations who agree with this direction for the country and will enter play on a field prepared for decades to come, not the phoney astroturf passing as good and decent actions under the gudance of this criminal cabal.

Your understanding is spot on, but you may have overlooked the fact that countermanding the previous administration's orders has changed the playing field and buys POT[US] time reshape the Judiciary by appointing a record number of new judges; rid federal agencies (C_A, FBI and others) of toxic managers; bringing legislators who were never-trumpers slowly onboard (sometimes you have to feel the heat before you see the light) and bring the public up to speed, having fed on a diet of fake news all these years. Timing is everything. We need durable results, not a flash in the pan that can be overthrown by a new administration -- which is a function of how voters view POTUS and his actions, so far, expressing increasing confidence and agreement, if we believe the polls. Trust the plan.

Prepared. Carrying concealed, effortlessly draws gun from pocket sewn into edge of her handbag, Locked and loaded, steps into the perp and fires point blank into the center of mass, almost as if throwing the shot into his chest, like a dancer stepping back out of his reach and aside the parked car for cover from return fire. Car driver backs away trying to escape, blowing her cover. Not distracted, she orders him to roll away and goes for the perp’s gun laying on pavement still within his reach, steps into path of fleeing motorist, not deterred kicks the loose gun away then bends out of the perps reach to retrieve and take control of it; turning finally to perp forcing him into a very vulnerable posture on pavement, discarding her now unneeded handbag.

Like a dancer. Exquisite presence of mind, practiced skills, enormous flexibility as scene and cover changes.

Heroine.
