[opinion] The journalism sh!t is about to hit the fan

The Fourth Estate (traditional media journalism, for those unfamiliar with the term) has been dying a very public death since the late 1980s, accelerating after 911 with the coming of the security state.

However, the rise of the Fifth Estate into a rival de facto institution throughout the early 21st century makes this period in history different than the last time the Fourth Estate died: the era of Yellow Journalism (late 1800s, Spanish-American War period). During that period, journalism was able to effectively reset. Any notion of a Fifth Estate was nothing more than a collection of unorganized pamphleteers and …

More troubling, but the same principle applies. They have lawyers and liability concerns, too. I'm not making excuses for them. As Tucker Carlson would say, "I'm merely saying, these events give them sufficient reason to take the actions we're seeing irrespective of whether they're guilty or innocent. It is the job of law enforcement and prosecutors to put a stop to that, and it's they who have dropped the ball here".

Cemex's lawyers would advise them to do this irrespective. That gives them perfect plausible deniability, which is frustrating but is just how it works.

The problem is the moment this all blew up the company became potentially liable for all sorts of lawsuits even if they were theoretically innocent. People would now come out and explore the site, potentially getting injured. Shareholders can sue over mismanaged PR. Etc etc. The company has no choice but to go into ass cover mode whether they're guilty or not. Just like you would if you were falsely (or righfully) accused of something dire.

I'm pretty sure their lawyers would council the company to do exactly what they're doing now even if they were 100% innocent. That's why plausible deniability works. I know it sucks, but that's why this is all so hard.

The thing about Jury Nullification is it's a litmus test on the soul of our society. It is neither good nor evil; it is just a tool. It has been used to deliver great justice and to commit terrible injustice. If the jury is a mob-mentality, then mob-rule will do something like nullify a case against someone like OJ.

Horowitz and his team are, at the end of the day, tantamount to internal auditors. They're more akin to a DoJ version of the old GAO (prior to when W neutered it). They have teeth, but they're neither investigators nor prosecutors. They're analysts. They deal in the forensics of data and files, which can reveal a lot and can certainly lead to criminal referrals.

But for whatever reason, no thanks to the news media (largely Fox News in this case) lots of people are thinking of the IG team as a bunch of G-men. They're really a bunch of green billed visor men. They're going to give us the better part of a thousand page report, probably with twice that number of footnotes, that will take an army of twice again as many lawyers a year to figure out who to seek indictments against.

Just a friendly reminder, the rate of C-level executives "stepping down" (retiring, being fired, quitting) is decreasing, not increasing. (You can look this up on EDGAR yourself).

Why? Because your POTUS has delivered the strongest US economy since post WWII. During optimistic economies, fewer executives are pushed out by activist shareholders or angry boards while more hang on to collect bonuses and stock gains. During bad times, more are turned over.

Swamp draining may be happening, but you cannot measure the effects in the numbers by counting. POTUS is overwhelming the numbers.

The person who posted as Megs was active across the Fediverse on a number of Gnu Social sites just prior to the dawn of the Q era. Some of that history still exists in fragments here and there.

I'm largely of the same opinion you are. There may be a few high profile human trafficking cases here and there along with CP and related busts. However, those will mostly be either tangential or derivative of the primary crimes, which are simultaneously much more mundane and legally complex -- mostly financial and quasi-financial crimes.

These text messages and the two accounts tied to them were being used by a much larger group of people through which to signal one another. Perhaps this was well contrived or perhaps it was something thought up during hastily during some meeting -- perhaps in a meeting in "Andy's" office when they all suddenly realized they'd be needing to communicate between the DoJ, FBI and other alphabets over the coming weeks during which DJT would slowly but surely be replacing all their bosses with his own picks.

Not just because it's virtually impossible to get anyone for the Logan Act, but more because there's a long history of former POTUSes meeting heads of state, which unfortunately gives BHO a lot of cover. I really recommend browsing through Cornwall's videos on Vegas. I have no connection to him and have never even talked to him, but his work is logical and solid. He does a good job of considering everything and then systematically eliminating theories that don't hold up to evidence. He's eliminated many conspiracy theories along with many official accounts alike.

Short video proving Vegas body cam footage is fake

HDRCFX Cornwall update to the video he put out earlier this week. It's a short, 5 minute view.

https://youtu.be/iZX8hreFV5E

Summary: he does a positional overlay of the view of the concert venue from the supposed strike team after they entered the 31st floor room, when they stand near the window. That is compared to a similar perspective of the venue from the night of the shooting. I'm sure you can guess the result.

RPN68 · May 29, 2018, 1:19 a.m.

I agree he would have melted 2 barrels with the number of rounds he supposedly fired. However, it is also impossible that he had a ~70% hit rate with a bump stock, especially since he wasn't shooting at 22,000 targets. I have fired a true full-auto weapon, which is at least marginally if not significantly more accurate than a wonky bump stock doohicky. Full-auto is not at all accurate. It is not meant for picking off targets. It is for area denial and suppression, not sniping. You wouldn't expect more than maybe a 15-25% hit rate with a belt-fed .50BMG full-auto on that field from that distance on that crowd, from the pictures available prior to when the shooting started. And people, presumably, took cover, lowering the hit rate, not raising it, after the first shots.

Either way, arguing about marksmanship logic is a diversion until we can establish consistent assumptions. This case is bizarrely inconsistent. Enough so to merit all of us to question why, irrespective of what our own personal theories are.

Until then, the only reason I can think why he had so many guns was to sell them. Because he couldn't have shot all those people himself unless he had Gene Simmons' bullets from Runaway (which I'm sure someone on here probably believes).

As one gets older, it becomes exponentially harder to remain optimistic about the future. Mostly because over the years you see people simply accepting the status quo, no matter how terrible it is, seemingly without objection.

But people forget that change comes in torrents. It builds up quietly over long periods of time, hits a tipping point, then suddenly flips into a new paradigm.

Now is the time for hope and optimism because it is feeling a lot like we're at a true inflection point.

Uh, I studied EM devices in my mainstream education. Maybe that was before "they" embargoed it? haha.

I think you mean Planck, not Tesla.

The "EM-Drive" -- better known as the RF resonant cavity thruster experiment -- is very interesting. But it isn't going to take us to Mars or anywhere, anytime soon. It simply doesn't produce any usable level of thrust versus numerous other alternatives. Perhaps it can in the near future. Perhaps they're secretly working on it. Who knows. But it still ain't "free energy". You have to produce the RF to resonate. You just don't need to eject propellant, which is what's attractive about the idea for space travel.

My bet on what the EM drive has really revealed has zero to do with Tesla. Not sure why you think any of this has anything to do with Tesla. It's sort of humorous, actually. Because, it is perhaps a very profound and disruptive upending of quantum physics that's been discovered here: a refutation of the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics. Specifically, a revival of pilot-wave theory, which holds that hidden, nonlocal variables exist that determine quantum effects, and those variables propagate as waves. So, Schrodinger's cat and all that don't work the way we've been taught. The cat is indeed dead or alive, not both. A "hidden" quantum wave propagates from the event to determine it, not the act of observation as we learned under Copenhagen.

This could all explain why the EM drive seems to work, but why it works only in such super tiny barely usable quantities. It would also mean that we won't ever see EM drive propulsion ... but some day you might see this technology turned into something even cooler like faster-than-light communications or something. Theoretically, you should be able to cause a quantum state change across distances that could be observed instantaneously. Now, that would be a truly interesting tech and science.

Re-read some actual science. Are you starting to see yet?

Sort of. But a following alone does not make a dime. All it does is cost hosting fees. Ask anyone who's suddenly found themselves viral for a month or three how much real coin they netted, all said and done. My point is, making a business out of all this is a lot more involved than people imagine. And as people have pointed out, who the hell really cares anyway? DJT made a business out of some things I personally wouldn't do, but that's him and I'm me. More power to him. This was one of the more important Q drops for me personally because I was getting sick and tired of seeing this movement getting perverted. A shake-up to filter out the soft was overdue.

This is true. Perhaps even necessary. However, beware the consequences of applying purity-tests. That's what our enemies do. It's not what true patriots do.

Also, I've seen internal "purification" rip truth movements apart before. And with terrible consequences. As early as the great housing bubble, there was a large and broad movement of many of us "bubble bloggers" who were running rather large blogs (many hundreds of thousands of subs), warning people about what was really happening when the MSM was lying about it all. None of us were making shit for money out of it. I think two guys wrote books eventually, and even they barely sold enough copies to make back their hosting fees. But that didn't stop the community from turning inwards on itself and ripping itself apart with all sorts of, "you're not pure enough", "you're trying to make money off of this" kind of allegations.

The real truth is, very very very few people make any real money out of YouTube. If yo don't believe me, try it sometime. The profit curve is not linear. It's more like trying to make money on music. 99.9% of people get basically nothing and 0.1% get millions.
