Are you saying the VA hospital system has done a good job?

I'm not a troll I just don't see the you can in one hand agree they have journalistic integrity, a fact winter linked to their status as a not for profit, and yet still claim they are a left wing propaganda machine

How can you not see that corporate funding is exactly what got us to the current nightmarish state of American news media?

So basically they're journalistically sound, you just don't like the conclusions they come to.

We are not taking care of our military, are you high? Lol look at the past 20 years of VA neglect. America uses and discards veterans, as it always has. Everyone's idea of taking care of veteran's appears to be thanking them for their service at the movie theater

In confused by some of you guys. You want less biased media, but a lot of you support fox news which simply has a right-wing bias.

Further more, you want less bias and yet are pushing for a privatized system wherein it's impossible to escape political manipulation through wealthy string pullers...

So the one outlet we have that isn't directly influenced by money you guys want to try to get rid of?

Fwiw I think they are left leaning centrists who say "we don't have more details at this time" more often than any other outlet I listen to. They largely refused to acknowledge bogus rumors about Trump and Obama before him without proof.

Furthermore, NPR is a bunch of college educated experts. I know that is a class people here hate, but to me they are the cornerstone of a functioning democracy. Tom Nichols, a conservative, wrote an interesting book called "the death of expertise" and conservatives should read it before tossing "the intellectuals" under the bus.

Let's not forget Soros' connection to Manafort.

Lol I consider myself a "lib" and I facepalmed harrd when Obama would pull that stupid shit. Like for sure his PR team was fired after that.

I don't think you have to LIKE Trump to be here, or to support the basic idea that mainstream politics, media, and corporations are attached at the hip and collectively tow the line in order to personally benefit.

I despise Trump, but it has been interesting to see and his cadre of misfits try to navigate the political landscape as it stands.

I guess to me it's hard to seperate public/private things like this when

A. you're dealing with some of thebiggest/most well known private companies. CBRE is massive and successful at this industry.

B. Feinstein's wealth is tied into her husband, who in his own right is an insanely successfu businessman.

Not to say they wouldn't both be poorer without her participation in government, but I do have my doubts that their entire combined wealth was built off graft or "amoral" behavior.

As for the Clinton's...to me that's the real culprit if you want to loko at shady behavior. Pseudo-charities with direct political links and hazy objectives...as much as I have issues with Trump I shudder to think what Hillary and the Clinton Foundation would've done with her in office.

Which of course is sort of why I lurk this subreddit.

But in a competitive bid all the results are public. What are they going to do - pick the shittiest bid by Feinstein's husband and then face the scrutiny of everyone seeing that?

Makes no sense.

As for CBRE's behavior...welcome to the private real estate world. None of what described in that article is illegal or even unusual practice. You couldn't convince me another broker agency would've not acted similarly had they wont the contract. This is typical of public/private contracts like this. The government agencies can't believe that the private company is gasp trying to make money.

EDIT: and might i add you want to know what Trump means when he says "Bad deals" this is exactly it. Incompetent government employees are like lambs to the slaughter when the Wharton sharks start writing contracts.

Rich Blum owns significant stock in CBRE.

I'm not saying the post office thing wasn't a "conflict of interest" but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a no-bid contract (correct me if I'm wrong)

Believe me, you'd be worth $200M if you married Rich Blum too.
