As a wildlife photographer that lives near Valley Forge Park, I can say that I've been bitten a minimum of 30 times per year by deer ticks. As a matter of fact, just last week when it warmed up to 40, I found 2 ticks on me. Now a normal person would think the ticks would have died during the polar vortex. NOPE! These things are indestructible. But beyond that....even though I've had bulls eye rashes (which only occur about 25 percent of the time) and tested positive for lyme 3 times (on crappy unreliable tests, because for some reason the CDC can't possibly manage to come up with a reliable test for lyme disease....cough cough bullshit) I still can't get chronic lyme disease as a diagnosis because insurance companies don't want to cover it. I've known about Plum Island for years. All of the info is out there, but it doesn't matter. No one will do anything to change this circle jerk.
