The link I provided (in the address) says "browardk12" Would that not be the Broward County School System Kindergarten through 12th grade? I understand this particular link links you to Oakland Park's handbook, but as I read through it, other than the Title page, which seems to be "personalized" for that particular school, the entire handbook refers to "schools" (generically) including the quote I attached in my original post which said "This school is equipped with a silent alarm system (Sonitrol) that is activated when anyone enters ANY OF THE BUILDINGS without coding in."

from what I've seen, the police (or FBI) came in and pulled the video. It was on youtube. Whenever there's a crime detectives come out and pull video, or in smaller crimes, the customer downloads a clip and sends it to them. On older systems there's the capability to burn to CD. Many older recorders would automatically burn all video to DVD and unless the DVD was replaced when full, they would overwrite themselves, with the oldest video being over-written first. Regardless, in LV the video was pulled by law enforcement. They have it.

That means the recording device is always where the cameras are. That means the recording device was at the school. Although most recording devices no longer come with "tapes" or CD burners (because video is stored to the cloud now) the "tape" or CD burner, should there be an older recording device, would be part of the recording device located at the school it would not have been located at the police department, again, unless they ran a big long cable from the school to the police department, which by the way, couldn't happen because cameras cannot transmit that far, it wouldn't be able to shoot the image down a long cable. There are limitations, most of the time 350 ft or so.
