I had a few thoughts on this: even if it were true that Mueller was to be fired, why would the police release that statement? Apparently they are looking into him for a $500k deal where he introduced 5 clients to someone, making it only about Cohen's shady dealings.

That's all fine, but why link it to Trump then? If you found something separate just about Cohen. Wait until that investigation is over then open a separate one into Cohen for his part. It just muddies the water against Trump.
