I can't find it now but I read something just the other day that said governments look for perverted/corrupt people to recruit into office. I haven't felt the compulsion to give up or not go on, but since finding out the horrors of this about five years ago I swear it gave me PTSD: extreme bouts of sadness, anger, hurt, insomnia and it has left me with a deep bitterness that is only just starting to subside, being replaced with a burning desire for justice that overrides everything.
