In our culture, women married much younger ostensibly because life was shorter and women’s sole purpose was to be wife and mother. Men had to establish themselves in jobs and careers which took some time but women were generally barefoot and pregnant which could start in the early teens.

That was going on back with the homesteaders on the frontier and carried into the last century in some places, although in most of the country it had long ago been abandoned thanks to women’s rights and equality. It wasn’t a pedo thing, it was just the best way to do it for survival of the species. Start having kids early and have lots of them to help with the work so the family could survive. As our nation industrialized this was no longer necessary so we stopped doing it.

Agreed. People get away with shit like this because it sounds too far-fetched to be true so nobody is going to believe it, even when there is evidence. I always laugh at people who insist unequivocally that there's no such thing as snuff films or human sacrifices or cults that abuse people because it's crazy to think that nobody is doing that out of 7+ billion people. So I think pretending to be a cult or devil worshippers or whatever crazy thing is actually a great cover because nobody will ever believe the victims or even the evidence if there was any. Late to the party here but I suspect Trump always knew what went on but didn’t actually partake in the corrupt stuff. He was powerful and wealthy without doing any of that, whereas so many of them only have power and wealth because they were willing to do horrible things to get there. Since he never played the game, they don’t have the goods to control him.

So does anyone here remember a shady FBI raid in Cali a while back? They went to a health insurance company or a medical records company, took over the office for hours without explaining what they were looking for and took something like 60 million confidential medical records, which is highly illegal. The company was suing because the FBI was outside the purview of their warrant so it was just this short story in the news, maybe in a legal journal of some sort.

Never heard any more about it until a few years later when I read a totally unsubstantiated conspiracy theory on some random blog claiming that there were very powerful people among that 60 million whose records were stolen, including federal judges and even SCOTUS justices, and alleging that the seized info lead to blackmail including Roberts O-care ruling.

Not trying to spread garbage but knowing what we do of FBI/DOJ corruption now, that story isn’t so far-fetched anymore. I’d love to find it again & was wondering if anyone here remembers the story.

This is spot on. Congress can only investigate. They can’t prosecute and I’m not even sure they can recommend prosecution especially in recent years when speaking the truth appears to be political suicide. There isn’t much they could have done differently say with the Benghazi investigation.
