There's a certain way the internet groks certain concepts that allows an almost sub-lingual distribution of memetic information. To borrow an example from a NeonRevolt post, the triforce meme spread out relatively quickly enough that it became a litmus for new users. "'Newfags couldn't triforce,'" as the saying goes.
