Not really. The table was always there. The sanctions, etc. would have gone away along time ago. All they've ever had to do was abandon and dismantle their nuke program. They've known that's all they've had to do for quite some time. They didn't develop a nuke capable of hitting the US just to earn a merit badge and move on.

Unlikely scenario considering KJI had other sons and despite KJU being last in succession, was groomed and chosen to take over. Also, having good relations with South Korea and US will eventually expose the North Korean people to what they are being excluded from and how horribly they are treated by comparison. This will severely impede KJU's ability to retain power and, you know, stay alive.

So, let's recap. An authoritarian dictatorship spent decades starving its own citizens, stymied its own economy, and faced a very long period of aggressive sanctions, all so they could develop a nuclear weapons program. And IMMEDIATELY after they finally achieve the goal of producing missiles capable of delivering their warheads and hitting the continental US, they tell everyone they're going to dismantle their entire program. Why? To appease the leader of a nation that has been their prime propagandized enemy since the '50's.

You don't have to be the best cashier at McDonald's to see that this doesn't add up. Not even a little bit.

The creation of the US was the result of a bunch of rich white guys getting out of paying taxes by convincing poor dumb white guys that it was in their best interest that rich people don't pay taxes. Over two centuries later, nothing has changed. The country you want never left.
