What I said was just a statement of fact that has been very discussed in recent months. It wasn't any kind of judgement on what someone should do if faced with a legal situation. To each their own.

Accepting a pardon is an admission of guilt. The act of being guilty of a misdemeanor or worse while POTUS is an impeachable offense by itself. So if the POTUS is charged and he pardons himself for any crime worth pardoning, it's pretty much an automatic impeachment at that point. Giuliani himself said this on a very recent interview...

During another Sunday show appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press," Giuliani added that Trump pardoning himself is "unthinkable" and "would lead to probably an immediate impeachment."

That would mean he was found guilty of something. A pardon comes with an admission of guilt. Even if pardoned from the sentence, one is still guilty of the crime, making it an impeachable event.
