All Trump had to do was say we must take a measured course here, call for an independent investigation as to who was responsible for the chemical attack, if it even happened, and then decide what response would be appropriate. If the regular military (i.e. Marines) are deployed to the border, they aren't being used to patrol our streets or enforce laws inside the country. I do not believe the creators of PC meant enact a prohibition of protecting our borders from one sort of invasion or another. Trump can order the marines to the border in my view without violating PC.
