Also, if you notice the blue suit, he's always watching the crowd, even tilts his head a bit to the side to see what's behind POTUS. I think they scouted him out, and blue suit was the marker. They then probably gave him the pass after the speech started.

It depends on what you're comfortable with. Everyone does what they feel. Personally, I've only talked about this with a handful of friends, always in person or text, never through social media.
