It was I, anon, who wrote of a psychological term known as the Seimmelweis reflex. It is poorly understood, because most research on Communications/NLP isn't actively practiced by Academia.

Basically, the term breaks down into this.

Regarding the Titanic and Hindenburg, those are huge Revelations. The Titanic contained numerous influential passengers, but among the wealthiest was Jack Astor of the Astor family. He died aboard the ship. Media reports of his death contradicted each other. It is possible that he was refused a place in a lifeboat. More digging will be needed to find out the people who were uh, comped a ticket on the Titanic.
