But there’s a problem with this, according to the Slow Factory Foundation. It seems that if a white guy like me used Oprah to do some meme-spreading, I would be guilty of practicing “digital blackface.”

Digital blackface is sort of like regular blackface except a real person isn’t wearing blackface. Neither is anything “digital.” In fact, it has nothing whatsoever to do with reality.

It’s a make-believe term used exclusively in the make-believe world of race-shaming.

In an Instagram post, the organization used an Oprah meme as a direct example of ‘digital blackface’ – sparking a furious debate in the comments where some agreed with the message, while others hit back, claiming that banning non-black people from posting the memes equates to ‘black erasure’.

‘Performing Blackness, be it IRL or online, is not an acceptable form of expressing reaction or dissatisfaction, especially not in exchange for likes and retweets,’ the organization wrote in its post.

National Guard Association Echoes Pleas to End Capitol Occupation

The National Guard’s presence in Washington, D.C., got extended last week when Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin approved the Capitol Police’s request for 2,300 troops to remain in place for approximately two months. Americans heard about threats from QAnon devotees on Inauguration Day, during the impeachment trial, and on March 4th. Exactly nothing happened. Perhaps this is why not everyone agrees with the extension for the National Guard:

National Guard Bureau Chief Dan Hokanson had questioned the extension because it was not rooted in specific threats. Instead, it was to give Capitol Police more time to fill staff and training gaps. In a memo obtained by Fox News, Hokanson wrote on March 4:

I am concerned that the continued indefinite nature of this requirement may also impede our ability to man future missions.

Efforts to date have not secured enough volunteers among supporting states to meet the USCP request of 2,280 soldiers, nor Option B of 1,000 soldiers.

Now, the National Guard Association of the United States has released a statement supporting Hokanson’s position. The Association represents active, separated, and retired commissioned and warrant officers of the National Guard and partners with other organizations representing enlisted members.

The response from Major General Michael McGuire, the NGAUS chairman, and retired Brigadier General J. Roy Robinson, the NGAUS president, noted that the National Guard met an unprecedented demand in 2020 due to unanticipated domestic disasters as well as continued overseas deployments. They also noted it was increasingly difficult to convince the Guardsmen that Congress needed their continued presence at the Capitol. The statement closed with a call to end the mission:

National Guard soldiers and airmen here in Washington need to return home to their families, civilian employers and regular military obligations. They have completed their mission. They have made us all proud.

I've been meaning to repost this (from Friday, was notabled). Get rid of your "hosts" file mods.

8kun is working normally - DNS is fixed

This has not been made perfectly clear yet so I'll explain it. The original issue that started all of these problems with posting is that the posting subdomain "sys.8kun.top" disappeared from the dns servers worldwide. This is why anons had to modify the "hosts" file to post or go through TOR. The correct IP address for the subdomain is 185.165.190.88. This IP address stopped working (Vanwanet took it down for some reason). Anons had to use the 8kun.top IP addresses to post. Now the correct IP address is working and the dns is working. The dns came back up at some time within the last 24 hours but I only checked it less than an hour ago.

Remove the fixes that you made to your "hosts" file. It is not recommended that you keep them. Anons have been using the same IP address for everything and that is not the correct configuration (there are 11 IP addresses plus the one for the posting server).

We are back in business, anons! Well, except for the blocked IPs but that's another story.

Ireland Suspends AstraZeneca Vaccine Amid Blood Clot Reports

LONDON—Irish health officials on Sunday recommended the temporary suspension of the AstraZeneca vaccine after reports of serious blood clotting after inoculations in Norway.

Dr. Ronan Glynn, Ireland’s deputy chief medical officer, said the recommendation was made after Norway’s medicines agency reported four cases of blood clotting in adults after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine.

He said that while there was no conclusive link between the vaccine and the cases, Irish health officials are recommending the suspension of the vaccine’s rollout as a precaution.

Danish, Norwegian and Icelandic authorities have taken similar precautionary steps. The World Health Organization and the European Union’s medicines regulator said earlier in the week that there was no link between the jab and an increased risk of developing a clot.

The U.K.’s medicines regulator, the MHRA, said Thursday that “reports of blood clots received so far are not greater than the number that would have occurred naturally in the vaccinated population” and that “available evidence does not confirm that the vaccine is the cause.”

It said people should still go and get their COVID-19 vaccine when asked to do so.

Whistleblower NYPD cop probed by Internal Affairs for podcast appearance

A whistleblower NYPD cop who tried to expose alleged corruption in Queens is under internal investigation for speaking out on a recent podcast — a move his lawyer said was “retaliation” by the department.

Sergeant Steven Lee — who previously dished to The Post about alleged widespread corruption in the 109 Precinct in Flushing, Queens — was ordered to appear later this month for a preliminary hearing with the Internal Affairs Bureau, his attorney, Joe Murray, told The Post.

Murray said he spoke to a sergeant from IAB’s Group 1, who confirmed the investigation into Lee.

“I asked her what’s this in regard to? She said, ‘a podcast,'” Murray said.

“The next relevant question is, is he a subject or a witness? Do you want information that he reported about corruption, or do you want to attack him?” he added.

“She said: ‘he’s a subject.’ So this is more retaliation,” Murray said.

Lee told The Post in 2018 that he went undercover for IAB, working to sniff out dirty cops in Flushing who were taking bribes from owners of karaoke bars in the neighborhood.

Two cops from the precinct were ultimately arrested and pleaded guilty to charges related to the corruption — but Lee alleged the systemic corruption in the precinct was overlooked.

“I can’t understand. This guy went undercover — risked his life, had these guys arrested, they plead guilty. He’s a hero,” Murray said.

“I represent him now. I’m going after all these guys. Screw them,” he added.

The NYPD did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Syria Solidarity Movement Statement on the Tenth Anniversary of the War on Syria

Since March 2011, Washington has led a coalition of NATO countries, Arab monarchies and Israel, in a proxy regime change war, using terrorist mercenaries as foot soldiers. Today, US troops illegally occupy nearly a third of Syria, containing much of Syria’s oil and gas and some of its best farmland. In addition, the US maintains a proxy army of Kurdish separatists in Syria’s north that seeks to dismember the country by carving out a Kurdish state where the population was overwhelmingly Arab prior to US intervention. The February 25th, 2021, US bombing of Syria signaled the Biden government’s intention to continue the US war of attrition on Syria.

Syria has defiantly resisted for ten years, in the face of illegal US attempts to dismember their sovereign state. These included false flag gas attacks by terrorists to blame the Syrian government – with the help of OPCW; attempts by the International Criminal Court to indict President Assad; propaganda constructs like the White Helmets to support western military intervention; increasingly severe economic sanctions which devalued Syria’s currency, created widespread unemployment, impoverished millions, and created huge shortages in the midst of a pandemic; spurious propaganda like the “Caesar photos”; and covert operations to buy the support of western mainstream media.

With allies Russia, China, Iran, Hezbollah, and Palestinian militias; support of Venezuela and Cuba to North Korea; and supporters in the global peace movement, the Syrian government has frustrated most of the above schemes, and avoided becoming a Libya-style failed state.

Syria has paid a great price: nearly half a million dead; 6.6 million internally-displaced persons; 5.6 million refugees across the Middle East, Europe, and North America; enormous civilian infrastructure destruction; looting of archeological treasures; physical and psychological trauma to its citizens; and much, much more. All of these cry out for an international accounting with reparations from those responsible.

Likud, Israel's ruling party headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has turned electioneering into a game. Using an app called Elector, Likud posts a "champions list” for those who have sent the party the most names of potential supporters.

“Omri, my bro! How many Likud supporters have you added to Elector? It’s not enough! Add more!” This is but one of the numerous messages posted on a Facebook page operated by the party, aimed at encouraging supporters to download the app and provide the party with names of voters.

Elector is only one of several so-called voter-management apps that have become popular in recent election campaigns. Like many others, its use contravenes the privacy laws - as these platforms encourage law-abiding citizens to name names - revealing whether neighbors, friends and relatives are for Likud or against it. The information is uploaded without the approval of the people in question.

The Privacy Protection Authority has repeatedly issued guidelines explicitly stating that the voter registry, to which the parties have access, is meant solely for maintaining contact with potential voters, and it is forbidden to use people’s personal information without their permission. Nevertheless, the parties using these apps flout these guidelines and continue to use voter data for other ends as well as instructing supporters to add more information.

The Elector app provides parties access to the huge database of eligible voters – 6.5 million Israelis. This in and of itself is still legal; every party is also permitted to augment the data to help their voter turnout efforts.
