I"ve been trying to keep the Notables section up to date.
I think it's useful to see a synopsis of previous breads, they move so fast nobody can keep up with all of them.
when it gets near 20 batches I prune off and post the oldest 10 or so then link it the Past notables string.
eventually the Past notables will need to be pruned as loaves fall off the board.
I am well aware there is a Best Of Bread section that is also an album title, long live vinyl but having two different editorial views of the 'best' cannot be a bad thing in my opinion

you are correct, I've long had the feeling important stuff was falling off, but I could only catch just a few.
A while back I tried to prune the loaf down to one page… didn't work. Puffed right back up to 2, then 3, then 4… do you remember a week or so back when it was 4 pages?
I think maybe two pages is reasonable, one might be possible but it would run into the dreaded body of text too long error every time you added a Q posting… ah… a conundrum.
As I said, I'm very much looking forward to seeing your vision made manifest.

truncating the notables is one thing, I'm looking to see how truncating Q's postings goes. I think I might have tried to consolidate in other places.
If you want to stick some of the reference bits here so they're permanent you can. I'm here for the duration, so is this place I'm thinking most of what is the great majority of the third page. You could eliminate it that way.
Let me know if this appeals to you, I'll give you BV status here so you can edit what you post as needed.

not a damn thing that I know of that we bakers can do
It wasn't a DDOS it was simply too much traffic
I think it was malicious actors creating slide threads around the time of baking
If they flood the board with new slide threads around the time the main bread hits ~650 (where we normally are doing the 1st post of a new bread during times of heavy traffic) they would achieve what we saw at that time.
I've seen traffic that heavy before on at least one occasion 21 post per minute average for bread #768, don't know peak values but I've never had that problem before.

I just kept clicking ok, re-doing the captcha and making another attempt. I knew it wasn't a complete block, just a timed filter. limit exceeded, block posting of new threads for x seconds, release block, limit exceeded, block posting of new threads for X seconds… so I knew that persistence would pay off
I handed off but stuck around because I was curious to see if the next baker would hit the same wall… turns out he did and we ended up with 5 breads for a little while. I felt kinda bad about usurping the baker, but I also didn't know if he would actually bake a decent loaf either…
The only thing I can think of that might remedy this is if the BO would release that limit during baking time. re-instating it immediately after the new bread was out of the oven.
It was a concerted effort to crash the board in any case and we will probably face worse in the days ahead. If Q drops serious bombshell info you can bet your boots it'll happen again.
Come to think of it that was part of it, all the Q drops, never seen so many in bread after bread after bread, Testing the system. nearly a test to destruction good thing it's built to be resilient.
I don't think they can break the Q group, destroy one platform, many others will rise to take its place, sorta like Hydra in a way… a good way, since this is a volunteer effort I'm not sure it could be openly perverted for evil. perhaps tricked, but that's another conversation

Ya, I've studied a bit of coding, long ago, haven't kept up as well as I should have. Learned BASIC in '74, did the punched cards for FORTRAN in '77 and the last was assembly in '81 mostly Z80, 6800 & 8080 / 8086 stuff

I've stickied the important threads and archives any practice bakes that get old get deleted
let me know if I can help
it generally goes as follows
you use the most current updated pastebin link to open that pastebin page
you copy from the raw section at the bottom
paste that into your fav text editor
make edits as needed to add Q posts, notables and changes / additions to the reference page
when the bake is complete you copy the edited text from your text editor and after clicking new paste button at top of pastebin page you paste your new dough into the blank pastebin and click create at the bottom.
If you don't have a pastebin account a warning will pop up about spam
just fill in the captcha and it will generate a new pastebin page
you then take the link to that pastebin page and put in in the bread
btw
you only fill out the subject line for the 1st post of the bread, the name, Email & Subject boxes are left blank for all other pages of the bread.
the bread is
1st page - Q posts
2nd page - Notables section
3rd page - Reference section
4th posting (if you get it) the link to the pastebin page that has the dough you used to bake that bread.
make sure to do it here at /comms/ and not in the main /qresearch/ board.

the difference between a thread and bread is cultural. A thread is the correct name for a series of posts on an image board. A bread is on a Q research board and is supposed to contain crumbs or clues on the subject(s) of Q research.
A baker's job is to keep the bread informative and concise. Adding Q's most recent posts to the list, selecting notables and updating the notables section and keeping the reference page up to date.

you can delete your own posts or if you create a practice bake and it gets no further posts I delete it after a week~ish the important archives are stickied so they cannot move from the top and will not be lost.

CTRL-F is your friend!
use it on user ID to find all posts by an anon
use it when Q posts, I use !xow to find out if Q is posting
I use CTRL-F a lot while baking
you will see quite a few (1)s [single post anons] the great majority are clowns and shills posting wild goose chases, but occasionally there will be a true gem. So don't filter and pay attention to all posts if you can. I just scan 'em quickly, I'm so used to the dig flow I can spot new info & just skip past the chatter, noise and mayhem.
I like to open the new thread around 600
I'll load up the subject line (which I keep at top of dough so I don't mess up title or number)
Then I load the banner graphic
By doing those two tasks 1st you do not activate the captcha timer and you can just let that idle while you go back to the active bread and check for late Q posts.
Last I copy / paste the body of the text and post.
Then page 2 & 3. copy all of dough & paste it into the new pastebin, click create new paste and then copy that link and paste it into my 4th post of the new bread as current dough link.
btw the captcha activates when you click in the body of text box. You can click on the captcha area to get it to renew.
If you post your new bread and it hangs (posting 98%) leave it, open new tab / window and open a new qresearch catalog page (I like catalog view a lot) to see if your new page is there, it probably will be. Just click on it and continue with bake
I'll post this again I put a copy of the bread title at the top of my dough so all I need do is copy / paste and I've got the subject line in place and didn't have to type it (remembering the correct number)

Here I'm the board owner, I have complete control.
If you're banned at /qresearch/ there is absolutely nothing I can do about it.
I've tried having conversations with the BO & BVs at /qresearch/ but it has not been very satisfactory.
The current situation with questionable breads baked by unknown bakers seems to be what they want. I suppose it is at least partially due to some of the drama that happened before the exodus from 4chan with the so called 'baker's union' where the BO at the time conspired with certain bakers to censor breads.
