Conceptos Plasticos and Dow Chemical collaborate on innovative new plastic bricks

What if Legos were real?

What if instead of that toy house you built when you were a kid, you could build a REAL house out of plastic bricks. A good house. And to make it even better those plastic bricks would be made from recycled plastic. The magic here is a novel molecule in the mix called a compatibilizer. They take part of one polymer and put specific groups of atoms on the molecule to make it attract another type of polymer. That way you can recycle mixed plastic waste without having to separate and purify everything.

Conceptos Plasticos is the Colombian company that came up with the idea and makes the bricks. As co-founder, Oscar Mendez, explains, “We can use plastics that not everyone recycles or hard-to-dispose plastic.…the bricks are twice as strong as conventional materials, can stand up to an earthquake and…it is completely waterproof… in places that flood.”

The houses are sturdy, thanks to the strong, durable plastic bricks. The houses are naturally cool, which is good for hot climates in Latin America and Africa, where the first houses are being built. The houses are inexpensive and easy to build in part because the bricks snap together. Four people can build one in five days and for 30 percent less than the cost of a typical house.

Dow Chemical is partnering with Conceptos Plasticos to find ways to give the plastics it makes, including hard-to-recycle plastics like potato chip bags, a new life rather than sending them to landfills.

Dow is also collaborating on another project, using the same type of plastic bricks to build schools. New classrooms are already open for learning, in Colombia and across the Atlantic in the Ivory Coast, where the plan is to build more than 500 classrooms.

Dow’s chemical know-how adds a second contribution to the project as well. Dow makes another material, called a “compatibilizer” that helps different plastics mix and stay together better, which makes for a better plastic brick.

Of course, any reuse of plastics is good news. But because schools are bigger than houses, the amount of recycled plastic put back to work is bigger too – four metric TONS per school, which makes this good news, even better.

And these days, houses aren’t the only things we’re making from recycled plastic. In fact, you could drive home to your new recycled plastic house, on a street paved with recycled plastic!

You could even get a nice set of kitchen chairs for your new plastic house, made from recycled soda bottles – think PET (polyester) made from xylene. So maybe someday in the future, one of your empty bottles, might end up right back in your kitchen. And whatever kitchen it turns up in, it’s good to know that together, companies and consumers are finding productive ways to keep plastic out of the trash, and turn something old into something useful.

UBS secures majority stake in a China securities joint venture

Switzerland’s largest bank, UBS, has become the first foreign bank to hold a majority stake in a China securities joint venture, after gaining approval from country’s securities regulator. On Friday, the China Securities Regulatory Commission gave approval for UBS AG to hold the majority stake in its securities joint venture. The Swiss bank, which currently owns 24.99% of the UBS Securities Co joint venture, had applied in May this year to the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) to raise its stake to 51%. UBS is acquiring from China Guodian Capital Holdings and COFCO their 12.01% and 14% stakes in UBS Securities, respectively.

This makes it the first foreign bank to secure such control under new rules announced by Beijing last year.

UBS Chief Executive Sergio Ermotti said in a statement: “Growing our China business is key element of our strategy. The further opening up of China's financial sector represents great opportunities for our wealth management, investment bank and asset management businesses.” “Since establishing our onshore presence in 1989, we have been at the forefront of foreign investment in China. This step underlines our long-term commitment to this market and we will continue to pursue opportunities.”

This move should allow UBS to expand its business in the world’s second-largest economy. The venture’s existing operations include debt and equity underwriting and financial advisory.

This move is significant as China is traditionally restrictive on foreign firms owning its companies. The biggest global investment banks, which have struggled to build their China businesses under rules that previously limited them to 49% ownership, have long sought the lifting of such limits on joint ventures. Lack of control over joint venture operations in China’s potentially lucrative securities market resulted in difficulties in integrating mainland ventures with global operations.

Exxon tries to put the worst behind it with $20 billion writedown

Exxon Mobil Corp on Monday said it would write down the value of natural gas properties by $17 billion to $20 billion, its biggest ever impairment, and slash project spending next year to its lowest level in 15 years. The oil major is reeling from the sharp decline in oil demand and prices from the COVID-19 pandemic and a series of bad bets on projects when prices were much higher. New cost cuts aim to protect a $15 billion a year shareholder payout that many analysts believe is unsustainable without higher prices.

The writedown lays bare the size of the miscalculation that the company made in 2010 when it paid $30 billion for U.S. shale producer XTO Energy as natural gas prices went into a decade-long decline. The writedown also includes properties in Argentina and western Canada.

While smaller than the up to $30 billion charge the company forecast a month ago, the quarterly charge to earnings reflects the company’s recent reduction in its outlook for oil and gas prices.

Exxon will continue initiatives in offshore Brazil, Guyana, the Permian Basin shale field in the United States, and in performance chemicals despite plans to implement deeper spending cuts, it said. Not mentioned was its $30 billion Mozambique liquefied natural gas project, which sources do not expect final investment decision on until early 2022.

“Recent exploration success and reductions in development costs of strategic investments have further enhanced the value of our industry-leading investment portfolio,” said Chief Executive Darren Woods.

Business conditions are continuing to show signs of improvement despite the pandemic, he said. The impairment charge “further worsens the company’s already substantial jump in financial leverage,” said Pete Speer, senior analyst at Moody’s Investors Service. “With this charge added to the big rise in debt this year, we see ExxonMobil’s debt/capitalization rising to nearly 30%, from just over 20% at the start of 2020.”

Next year’s spending will fall, to between $16 billion to $19 billion, but Exxon could increase spending by 2025 to more than this year’s about $23 billion level, Woods said. The plan to return to higher levels of capital expense struck investor Mark Stoeckle, senior portfolio manager at Adams Funds, as unusual.

“In this environment it makes no sense to me at all. What’s the hurry?” he said. “I don’t think it’s going to help them with investors.”

Exxon said last month it could cut 14,000 employees, or 15% of its global workforce, by the end of 2021.

BlackRock Emerges as Wall Street Player in Biden Administration

Wall Street bankers, and in particular those from Goldman Sachs Group Inc., have long held senior positions in the White House. Under President-elect Joe Biden, such roles are going to executives of BlackRock Inc.

A former Goldman executive held the Treasury secretary post in three of the last four administrations, but the firm is absent so far from the White House this time. Instead, two executives who have worked at asset-management giant BlackRock will be the senior Wall Street representatives.

Mr. Biden is expected this week to name BlackRock's head of sustainable investing, Brian Deese, to run the National Economic Council, said people familiar with the matter. Adewale "Wally" Adeyemo, a former chief of staff to BlackRock's chief executive, is expected to be named Tuesday as the No. 2 at the Treasury Department.

"By picking folks with deep ties to large asset managers, the administration can help assuage financial executives' concerns. It sends a clear signal to the industry to breathe easier: They can plan for stability without likely facing massive new regulatory or tax risks," said Tyler Gellasch, executive director of investor trade group Healthy Markets Association. Some progressives and investor advocates worry that the naming of any finance executives could result in looser regulatory scrutiny on big money managers.

But broadly, BlackRock may not draw the kind of anger that traditional Wall Street banks like Goldman tend to generate. BlackRock is in the business of investing money for individuals and institutions like endowments, and much of its growth comes from funds that track market indexes. Asset managers like BlackRock don't arrange mergers and acquisitions, they don't earn big profits from trading and their employees, while well paid, often aren't seen within the finance industry as swaggering bankers. The firm has faced criticism for investing in companies that contribute to climate change, and for failing to live up to its own rhetoric on the subject, environmental activists say. It pledged this year to take a tougher stance.

The role of BlackRock alumni in the Biden administration is the latest chapter in a decadelong rise in both Washington and on Wall Street. BlackRock is the largest asset manager in the world with $7.8 trillion under management as of September. As it has grown, it has both boosted its operations in Washington and hired government officials. Messrs. Deese and Adeyemo worked in the Obama administration. BlackRock's global footprint and experience with markets "will be invaluable as the president-elect navigates a slowing economy and turbulent markets in the wake of the pandemic," said Stefan Selig, an investment banker who runs BridgePark Advisors LLC and was undersecretary of Commerce during the Obama administration.

The Biden administration economic team will be filled with economists and policy makers who focus on areas such as income inequality and labor markets. That is a contrast to the Trump administration, which named former Goldman Sachs executive Steven Mnuchin as Treasury secretary, former Goldman President Gary Cohn as an economic adviser and other firm alumni to senior roles. Goldman veteran Robert Rubin served as President Bill Clinton's Treasury secretary, while Henry Paulson Jr. occupied the position in President George W. Bush's second term. The Obama administration had few Wall Street executives.

Mr. Adeyemo, a former senior international economic adviser during the Obama administration, is expected to serve as Janet Yellen's top deputy at the Treasury Department. The former BlackRock executive worked as a senior adviser for the company from 2017 to 2019, including as interim chief of staff to BlackRock CEO Larry Fink.

European Union needs perpetual debt to survive – George Soros

Objections by Poland and Hungary over an EU plan to deal with the economic crisis has put the bloc in a “very difficult situation” and raises doubts over its future, according to billionaire investor George Soros.

Soros had previously said the EU should issue “perpetual bonds,” which means the principal amount of the money borrowed would never be repaid, only the annual interest payments. It also assumes the EU would last forever and therefore keep paying the interest back to the lender. Perpetual bonds could allow the region to fund projects at very low costs.

However, Soros has changed his mind, writing in an opinion article that “Right now, it would be impossible for the EU to issue perpetual bonds, because the member states are too divided.”

He explained that “Investors will buy perpetual bonds only from an entity that they believe will continue to exist for the foreseeable future… Sadly, it is not true of the EU today.”

Last month, the Hungarian and Polish governments vetoed EU’s plan to link access to the union’s funding to the application by member states of rule of law, a check on whether countries are complying with European values.

Plaintiffs just received an Affidavit from Melissa Carone. Ms. Carone was a contractor for Dominion Voting Systems to do IT work at the TCF Center. Ms. Carone was at the TCF Center from 6:15 a.m. on November 3, 2020 to 4:00 a.m. on November 4, 2020. She then went home to get a few hours sleep and worked again at the TCF Center from 10:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. on November 4th. Ms. Carone states that she “witnessed nothing but fraudulent actions take place” (Exhibit H). Further, Ms. Carone states:

The counters (which were trained very little or not at all), were handed a "batch" (stack of 50) of mail-in ballots in which they would run through the tabulator. The tabulators would get jammed 4-5 times an hour, when they jammed the computer would put out an error that tells the worker the ballot number that was jammed and gives an option to either discard the batch or continue scanning at which the counter should discard the batch, put the issue ballot on top of the batch and rescan the entire batch. I witnessed countless workers rescanning the batches without discarding them first which resulted in ballots being counted 4-5 times.

At approximately midnight I was called over to assist one of the counters with a paper jam and noticed his PC had a number of over 400 ballots scanned - which means one batch was counted over 8 times. This happened countless times while I was at the TCF Center. I confronted my manager, Nick Ikonornakis saying how big of a problem this was, Nick told me he didn't want to hear that we have a big problem. He told me we are here to do assist with IT work, not to run their election.

The adjudication process, from my understanding there's supposed to be a republican and a democrat judging these ballots. I overheard numerous workers talking during shift change in which over 20 machines had two democrats judging the ballots-resulting in an unfair process.

When a worker had a ballot that they either could not read, or it had something spilled on it, they would go to a table that had blank ballots on it and fill it out. They were supposed to be filling them out exactly like the one they had received '''but this

was not the case at all. The workers would also sign the name of the person that the ballot belonged to - which is clearly illegal.'''

I called the FBI and made a report with them, I was told that I will be getting a call back.

Ms. Carone’s sworn statement provides further evidence that fraud and misconduct occurred at the November 3, 2020 election. Plaintiffs request that their Motion for TRO and Preliminary Injunction be granted.

75% of the $454 Billion CARES Act Money Never Went to the Fed; It Was Invested by a Mnuchin Slush Fund Called the ESF

The CARES Act was signed into law on March 27. Congress earmarked $454 billion of that stimulus money to be distributed by the Treasury to the Federal Reserve to be used for emergency lending programs to save businesses and jobs during the pandemic and keep credit flowing to the U.S. economy. The catch was that the Treasury Secretary, Steve Mnuchin, would have to give his approval for each of the programs.

Since June, Wall Street On Parade has been reporting that $340 billion of the $454 billion that Mnuchin was instructed to turn over to the Fed was unaccounted for. We noted that 98,000 businesses had permanently closed in the U.S. while this money, intended for economic relief, went missing.

On November 19, Mnuchin publicly issued a letter to Fed Chair Jerome Powell, making it sound like most of the CARES Act money has been sitting idle at the Fed and Mnuchin was demanding it back to put to better use.

Adding to our conviction that Mnuchin was intentionally misleading the public, Bloomberg News published an article on Tuesday about the funds that Mnuchin planned to claw back from the Fed. The Bloomberg article carried this sentence: “The money in question includes $429 billion that Mnuchin is clawing back from the Fed — which backed some of the central bank’s emergency lending facilities…”

But for months now, the Federal Reserve’s weekly financial statements known as the H.4.1 have indicated that all the Fed received from Treasury for its emergency lending facilities was $114 billion, leaving $340 billion unaccounted for.

Wall Street On Parade has repeatedly asked the press office of the U.S. Treasury to explain this discrepancy. It has refused to answer our inquiries. We have repeatedly asked the Fed’s press office to explain this discrepancy and it has directed us to its official financial statements which show it has received just $114 billion from the Treasury for its emergency lending programs.

This morning, we located the missing funds on our own with no help from the Treasury’s press office that is paid by American taxpayers to keep the public informed. Tens of billions of dollars of CARES Act money has been put to very strange use by Mnuchin in a slush fund called the Exchange Stabilization Fund (ESF) which states that it gives the U.S. Treasury Secretary “considerable discretion in the use of ESF resources.”

We located the financial statements for the Exchange Stabilization Fund and they confirmed that all the Treasury has given the Fed for its emergency lending facilities was the same $114 billion that the Fed has been reporting on its financial statements.

California’s Highest-Paid Govt Employee Worked for Org Tied to Chinese Espionage

Taxpayers paid $1.7 million to ex-pension fund manager Meng

California taxpayers shelled out more than $1 million to a man linked to a Chinese espionage program, making him the state government’s highest-paid worker.

Meng Yu, former chief investment officer of the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS), received more than $1.7 million in total pay and benefits in 2019, according to the latest financial disclosures obtained by Transparent California, a taxpayer watchdog group. Under Meng's leadership the pension fund, which covers two million members in the retirement system and 1.5 million members under its health program, has been subject to federal inquiries into its investments in Chinese government entities.

Meng took the lead at the pension fund after China's Thousand Talents Program recruited him to serve as the deputy CIO of China's State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE), a state-controlled entity. The FBI considers the Thousand Talents Program an example of "China's non-traditional espionage against the United States" that seeks to recruit people to transfer U.S. trade secrets and taxpayer-funded research into the hands of the Chinese government. Meng told the propaganda outlet People's Daily that he worked for SAFE out of patriotic commitment to "the motherland."

Neither CalPERS nor Governor Gavin Newsom's (D.) office responded to requests for comment.

Robert Fellner, the executive director of Transparent California, blasted CalPERS for failing to conduct appropriate oversight for such a high-profile position, pointing to Meng's August resignation.

"One would think that the state’s highest-paid employee earned his position after rigorous scrutiny revealed him to be the best candidate for the job," Fellner said. "If such recklessness is prevalent in a decision of this size and magnitude, how can Californians have any faith that their tax dollars are being spent responsibly in all those areas that evade public scrutiny?"

Meng resigned after the financial news blog Naked Capitalism reported that he may have committed a felony by failing to disclose his sale of 21 securities in 2019. Some of the undisclosed sales involved shares in Chinese companies. The site also argued that Meng's investments in Blackstone Group and other private equity groups presented a conflict of interest, since experts at CalPERS had advocated offloading investments in the firms—a move that would hurt Meng’s personal portfolio.

Meng's China ties attracted federal scrutiny. In February, the Trump administration confirmed that it was "looking at" CalPERS's investment in Chinese defense and state-owned companies to find out whether American taxpayer money was being used to subsidize China's military expansion. Rep. Jim Banks (R., Ind.), a leading China hawk on Capitol Hill, told the Washington Free Beacon that California owes taxpayers an explanation for how Meng was able to go directly from working for a Chinese entity to being the state's top earner.

Sidney Powell: Witness in Hospital After Beating

Attorney Sidney Powell said on the Sean Hannity show on Fox News Monday night that a witness to election irregularities was beaten up and is in the hospital. Powell spoke about the attack while speaking about witnesses needing protection as a reason some are not going public and signing affidavits. Powell said some are in the government, others are in roles that require confidentiality, and that they need protection by the government.

Next, I want to describe what went on during shift change, it was a chaotic disaster. It took over two hours for workers to arrive at their "assigned areas", over 30 workers were taken upstairs and told they didn't have a job for them to do. These people were chosen to be counters, in which 6 workers admitted to me that they received absolutely no training at all.

The night shift workers were free to come and go as they pleased, they could go out and smoke from the counting room. This is illegal, as there were boxes and stacks of ballots everywhere, anyone could have taken some out or brought some in, and No one was watching them.

There was two vans that pulled into the garage of the counting room, one on day shift and one on night shift. These vans were apparently bringing food into the building because they only had enough food for not even 1/3 of the workers. I never saw any food corning out of these vans, coincidently it was announced on the news that Michigan had discovered over 100,000 more ballots- not even two hours after the last van left.

When a worker had a ballot that they either could not read, or it had something spilled on it, they would go to a table that had blank ballots on it and fill it out. They were supposed to be filling them out exactly like the one they had received but this was not the case at all. The workers would also sign the name of the person that the ballot belonged to-which is clearly illegal.

IO. Samuel Challandes and one more young man in his mid-20 were responsible for submitting the numbers into the main computer. They had absolutely no overhead, my manager Nick would assist them with any questions but Nick was on the floor assisting with IT most of the time.

11 . There was a time I overheard Samuel talking to Nick about losing tons of data, they all got on their phones and stepped to the side of the stage. I asked Nick what was going one and he told me it was all taken care of and not to worry about it. I fully believe that this was something very crucial that they just covered up.

I was the only republican working for Dominion Voting, and on the stage there was many terrible comments being made by the city workers and Dominion workers about republicans. I did not give out any indication that I was a republican, I have a family at home and knew I was going to have to walk to my car at the end of my shift. If anyone had an American flag on their shirt or mask, they were automatically deemed to be Trump supporters.

America's Darkest Secret: The Exchange Stabilization Fund

Who would like to know where $21 trillion of US taxpayer dollars disappeared to between 1995 - 2015? Earmarked for the DOD and HUD this money disappeared down a black hole of criminal corruption that has funded some of the most profound criminal activity in the last 100 years, if not all of history. Most everyone in the truth movement knows that the Kennedy assassination was an inside job- but where did the funding for such a massive undertaking come from? The answer to this riddle and much more lies within one of America's best kept secrets… the Exchange Stabilization Fund.

The ESF has been behind every major US fraud/scandal since 1934, according to researcher Eric de Charbonnel of MarketSkeptic. These include the London Gold Pool (that eventually led Nixon to taking us off the gold standard), the Kennedy assassinations (both), Iran/Contra, CIA drug trafficking (and likely human trafficking), HIV/AIDS and more.

The ESF was established as a part of the Gold Reserve Act of 1934 as a part of the Treasury Department. Conducted through the NY Federal Reserve Bank, its stated purpose is to stabilize the dollar and keep it that way. In 1934, $2 billion was transferred to the Treasury with absolutely no Congressional oversight effectively establishing a slush fund. Since then it has controlled both domestic and international finance.

We all like to blame the Fed for the fiat currency crisis as well as any other fiscal and monetary problems, but as we shall see it is in fact the Treasury through the ESF that controls the economy… the Gold Reserve Act in effect denuded the Fed of most of its power. Since its inception the ESF has consistently debased the value of the US dollar that it was created to protect.

Since WWII the ESF has been a "secret weapon" for funding black ops of every sort. During the war, OSS (the precursor to the CIA) used it for covert financial operations to "keep Nazis out of Mexico and Central America." They are able to accomplish this because the Secretary of the Treasury is under no obligation to obey the laws of the US thus the ESF has been funding black ops around the world for over 80 years.

It was the ESF that was behind the Bretton Woods agreement establishing the IMF and World Bank. Under Harry White, a Treasury Dept. employee and member of the OSS Committee the ESF began using taxpayer dollars to interfere in foreign elections and later laundering money from CIA drug ops, all through the NY Fed. White also became the first president of the IMF.

Citi Reorganizes Equities Division in Push to Move Up Rankings

Citigroup Inc. reorganized its equities division as the bank seeks to move up the league-table rankings for stock trading.

Julia Raiskin will lead the equities-sales efforts in the Asia-Pacific region, Dirk Keijer will have a similar role for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Cedric Pauwels will be in charge of those efforts for the Americas, according to a company memo. Antonin Jullier will leave his post as global head of equity sales to explore other opportunities.

The moves are meant to help the bank become a top-four competitor in equities trading within two to three years, according to the memo from Fater Belbachir, who joined Citigroup from Barclays Plc earlier this year to lead the global equities-trading operation.

“I have spent a significant amount of time with many of you over the last few months since I joined Citi. The engagement and enthusiasm to drive the equities franchise forward was evident in all discussions,” Belbachir said in the memo. “Delivering the firm and platform in a client-centric model is going to be critical for our success.”
