E-4B Nightwatch upgrade
The US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) has announced that upgrades are being delivered to the E-4B fleet. The center reported that the upgraded communication suite of the Dooms Day aircraft are such designed that they improve communication capabilities and effectiveness.
The first of four US Air Force (USAF) E-4B Nightwatch aircraft recently concluded developmental testing with a new and upgraded communication suite. The aircraft received the Low Frequency Transmit System (LFTS) and Advanced Extremely High Frequency Presidential National Voice Conferencing Integration Program (APIP) modifications. Both systems result in more capabilities and effectiviness of the E-4B. The LFTS modification provides revolutionary single wire low frequency communication capability, while APIP transforms reliability and survivability of the E-4B satellite communication (SATCOM) and national leadership command and control systems.
Work on the other three so-called Doomsday aircraft will be performed in the coming years. The upgrade is only done when the aircraft enters it standard programmed depot maintenance periode and is mainly executed by the Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence, and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate with support of Boeing and Collins Aerospace (LFTS) and Raytheon Technologies (APIP).

02-5001 USAFSOC C-32B on descent for Ft. Bragg from super spoopy Tonopah Test Range overnight
It departed Eglin AFB yesterday and had stops at Fayetteville Regional Airport and NAS Oceana prior to heading to Tonopah.
Tonopah is the testing range of choice for all national security missions. Tonopah Test Range (TTR) provides research and development test support for the Department of Energy's weapon programs. The range also offers a unique test environment for use by other Government agencies and their contractors. With capabilities such as modern electronic tracking instrumentation and data acquisition systems, TTR assures customers' complete and accurate test data. TTR also provides facilities, a large land area, and the security to conduct a wide variety of tests.

The Tonopah Test Range (TTR) is a restricted military installation located about 30 miles (48 km) southeast of Tonopah, Nevada. It is part of the northern fringe of the Nellis Range, measuring 625 sq mi (1,620 km2). Tonopah Test Range is located about 70 miles (110 km) northwest of Groom Dry Lake, the home of the Area 51 facility. Like the Groom Lake facility, Tonopah is a site of interest to conspiracy theorists, mostly for its use of experimental and classified aircraft. As such, it is not generally the focus of alien enthusiasts, unlike its neighbor. It is currently used for nuclear weapons stockpile, reliability testing, research and development of fusing and firing systems, and testing nuclear weapon delivery systems. The airspace comprises restricted area R-4809 of the Nevada Test and Training Range and is often used for military training.
