The entire Christian religion is built on the blood of Christ. I agree that Christ's ministry was disintermediation; but not because of his sacrifice. His instruction on a direct relationship with God negated the need for synagogue in the way it was over the people. That's the entire reason he was put on the cross; so that those that were in control of religious thought, then, could maintain that control over the people. 300 years later, they built a whole new religion that did exactly the same thing the old one did; put an intermediary between the people and God. Just yet another system of control.
Again, hardest pill to swallow for most.
