Every municipality in Ontario with its own police service must have a civilian board to govern that police service. Police services boards are independent bodies established by provincial legislation called the Police Services Act. The boards represent community interests and are accountable to the Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services, and the Ontario Civilian Police Commission located in Toronto.

Member Job Description

 

Section 31 of the Police Services Act sets out the responsibilities boards must fulfill on behalf of the residents of their municipality. The primary role of the board is to establish, after consultation with the Chief of Police, the overall objectives and priorities for the provision of police services and the safety and security of citizens. Some of its other key responsibilities include:

 

Recruiting and appointing the Chief of Police and Deputy Chiefs of Police;

Annually assessing the Chief's performance;

Approving annual operating and capital budgets for the Police Service;

Establishing policies and by-laws for the effective management of the police service;

Preparing a business plan for the Police Service every three years.

 

The Board cannot direct the Chief with respect to specific operational decisions or day-to-day operations of the Service. The Chief of Police is responsible for administering the Police Service and overseeing its operation in accordance with the objectives, priorities and policies established by the Board.

It has given me a new perspective on Trump and the long game, however. I viewed his mask wearing as a betrayal for the longest time. That was like a lline in the sand where he seemed to cave in to the politics of the moment, with disastrous consequences. Old Crow was allegedly one of the members of the Dull Knife band of Cheyenne, which left the reservation in Indian Territory and made the memorable raid across Kansas in September and October 1878, killing 32 citizens and destroying much property. They were pursued; several were captured and confined at Fort Robinson, Nebraska for some time, when their wives succeeded in smuggling into them a number of guns, which were used on January 9, 1879, in making a dash for liberty.

 

However, the US Army hunted them down quickly and, by the next day, returned with 65 of them, 23 of whom were wounded. By January 22nd, the soldiers cornered and killed most of the last 32 escapees, as they were poorly armed and greatly outnumbered by 150 soldiers. This battle is referred to as the Fort Robinson Massacre. Among these men last captured was Old Crow.

 

Old Crow and six of his brother warriors were taken to Fort Leavenworth and later to Dodge City, their trial being set for June 24, 1879, in the District Court of Ford County. The charge against them being murder. A change of venue was asked for by the defense, which was granted, the case being sent to the District Court of Douglas County for trial at the succeeding October term, at which time all the Indians were liberated.

Army officers acquainted with Old Crow said that he had been employed by the government as a scout and had proven faithful, valuable, trustworthy, and bore a good reputation. They said he belonged to the Crow tribe instead of the Cheyenne and could have had no hand in the depredations of the latter in Kansas the previous year. He claimed to be a Sioux and was said to have been an Indian of more than ordinary intelligence.

The American-English phrase to eat crow means to be forced to do something humiliatingβ€”synonym: to eat humble pie.

 

I have discovered that to eat crow originated in a story that first appeared in 1850 and became so popular that it was regularly reprinted in various versions and various newspapers for over two decades.

 

The earliest occurrence of this story that I have found is from the Buffalo Daily Courier (Buffalo, New York) of Wednesday 18th September 1850:

 

Lake Mahopack has been crowded so this summer, that the farm-houses about it are filled with visitors. One of the worthy farmers in the vicinity had been worried to death by his visitors. They found fault with the food. This was bad and that was bad; there was no way of pleasing them.

β€œDarn it, what a fuss; I cant [misprint for can] eat anything,” said Isaac.

β€œCan you eat crow,” said one of his young boarders.

β€œYes, I kin eat crow.”

β€œBet you a hat,” said his guest.

The bet was made, a crow caught and nicely roasted, but before serving up, they contrived to season it with a good dose of Scotch snuff.

Isaac sat down to the crow. He took a good bite, and began to chew away. β€œYes,” he said β€œI kin eat crow (another bite and an awful face,) I kin eat crow (Symptoms of nausea.) I kin eat crow, but I’ll be darned if I hanker arter [= after] it.”—Isaac bolted.

Pentagon Responds To DoD Whistleblowers' Claim Of Spiking Disease Rates In The Military After COVID Vaccine Mandate

 

Three United States military doctors have blown the whistle on documents allegedly from The United States Department of Defense (DoD) that they had access to, which show β€œskyrocketing rates of disease” since the introduction and mandating of the CCP virus vaccines in armed forces, human rights attorney Leigh Dundas told The Epoch Times.

 

Dundas was recently approached by Dr. Samuel Sigoloff, Special Forces flight surgeon Lt. Col. Peter Chambers, and Aerospace occupational medicine specialist Lt. Col. Theresa Long.

 

They handed documents to Dundas, who appeared recently with attorney Tom Renz in a five-hour hearing organized by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) titled β€œCOVID-19: Second Opinion.”

 

Renz shared some of the numbers related to medical disorders in the U.S. military data with The Epoch Times.

 

The whistleblowers, who are represented by Renz, gave him the data β€œunder penalty of perjury,” he said during the hearing.

 

Renz intends to submit the information to the courts, he told Johnson.

 

The DoD responded that the DMED (Defense Medical Epidemiology Database) data from 2016 to 2020 that the whistleblowers brought up was erroneous and incomplete, and is currently under review.

 

β€œDHA’s Armed Forces Surveillance Division (AFSD) conducted a complete review of the data contained in the Defense Medical Epidemiology Database (DMED) and found that the data was incorrect for the years 2016-2020,” Maj. Charlie Dietz, a spokesperson for the DoD, told The Epoch Times.

 

β€œDMED is a web-based tool to query de-identified active component personnel and medical event data contained within the Defense Medical Surveillance System (DMSS).

 

β€œComparing the DMED database to the source data contained in DMSS, AFHSD discovered that the total number of medical diagnoses from 2016-2020 that were accessible in DMED represented only a small fraction of actual medical diagnoses for those years. In contrast, the 2021 total number of medical diagnoses were up to date in DMED. Comparison of 2021 to 2016-2020 resulted in the appearance of significant increased occurrence of all medical diagnoses in 2021 because of the under-reported data for 2016-2020. AFHSD has taken DMED offline to identify and correct the root-cause of the data corruption,” Dietz said.

 

Renz responded:

 

β€œThe DoD has claimed that the DMED data from the years 2016-2020 was incorrect. This is absurd. We spend millions of dollars per year on DMED and people monitoring DMED which is one of the premier epidemiological databases in the world. Accuracy in this database is critical as it is used to monitor for health issues in our troops.

 

β€œThe DoD would have us believe that the DMED database was wrong from 2016-2020 but then magically was corrected in 2021 despite the fact that they had not noticed it was wrong until we pointed it out in our testimony before Senator Johnson. Further, we are asked to believe that in 2020, the year of what they claim to be the greatest pandemic since 1918, and despite the fact that it is documented that the CDC was also watching this database, no one noticed an error of 20 million-plus injury/disease codes per year,” Renz told The Epoch Times.

 

β€œThe Department of Defense, the Biden administration is on notice they must preserve these records and this must be investigated,” Johnson said in the five-hour hearing in Washington.

 

β€œRenz also informed me that some DMED data showing registered diagnoses of myocarditis had been removed from the database. Following the allegation that DMED data had been doctored, I immediately wrote to you on January 24 requesting that you preserve all records referring, relating, or reported to DMED. I have yet to hear whether you have complied with this request.” Johnson wrote in a letter (pdf) to Lloyd Austin, the U.S. defense secretary.

Ravens & Crows in Mythology

 

In Celtic mythology, the warrior goddess known as the Morrighan often appears in the form of a crow or raven or is seen accompanied by a group of them. Typically, these birds appear in groups of three, and they are seen as a sign that the Morrighan is watchingβ€”or possibly getting ready to pay someone a visit.

 

In some tales of the Welsh myth cycle, the Mabinogion, the raven is a harbinger of death. Witches and sorcerers were believed to have the ability to transform themselves into ravens and fly away, thus enabling them to evade capture.

 

The Native Americans often saw the raven as a trickster, much like Coyote. There are a number of tales regarding the mischief of Raven, who is sometimes seen as a symbol of transformation. In the legends of various tribes, Raven is typically associated with everything from the creation of the world to the gift of sunlight to mankind. Some tribes knew the raven as a stealer of souls.

"In Native American folklore, the intelligence of crows is usually portrayed as their most important feature. In some tribes, the crow is conflated with the raven, a larger cousin of the crow that shares many of the same characteristics. In other tribes, Crow and Raven are distinct mythological characters. Crows are also used as clan animals in some Native American cultures."

Some of the tribes with Crow clans include the Chippewa, the Hopi, the Tlingit, and the Pueblo tribes of the American Southwest.

For those who follow the Norse pantheon, Odin is often represented by the ravenβ€”usually a pair of them. Early artwork depicts him as being accompanied by two black birds, who are described in the Eddas as Huginn and Munnin. Their names translate to β€œthought” and β€œmemory,” and their job is to serve as Odin’s spies, bringing him news each night from the land of men.

In parts of the Appalachian mountains, a low-flying group of crows means that illness is comingβ€”but if a crow flies over a house and calls three times, that means an impending death in the family.

New Biden order mandates union contracts on federal construction projects over $35M

 

President says measure will help ensure "well-trained, well-prepared, highly-skilled workers."

 

President Joe Biden on Friday signed an executive order he claimed would strengthen the federal contracting workforce while helping to deliver high-quality workers to undertake federal projects.

 

The "Executive Order on Use of Project Labor Agreements For Federal Construction Projects" orders federal agencies to "require every contractor or subcontractor engaged in construction on [a federal] project to agree, for that project, to negotiate or become a party to a project labor agreement with one or more appropriate labor organizations."

 

The measure will provide, in part, β€œmechanisms for labor-management cooperation on matters of mutual interest and concern, including productivity, quality of work, safety, and health,” the order claims.

 

In remarks after the signing, Biden claimed the order would assist in "making sure that federal construction projects get completed on time and under budget."

 

The rules of the order will "ensure that major projects are handled by well-trained, well-prepared, highly-skilled workers," he added, arguing that they "resolve disputes ahead of time, ensuring safer work sites, avoiding disruptions and work stoppages that can cause expensive delays down the line."

Car horns blared in downtown Minneapolis on Friday as dozens gathered, temporarily clogging the street, in a car caravan protest calling for the firing of Officer Mark Hanneman, who shot Locke on Wednesday.

Independent journo exposes who is funding illegal immigrant flights

Independent journalist Ali Bradley interviewed Sister Norma Pimentel of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley concerning the non-governmental organization’s funding of airline tickets for illegal immigrants and how taxpayer money is being used to subsidize it.

 

The reporter previously interviewed Sister Pimentel in August. The revelation concerning the NGO sparked further outrage over the Biden administration facilitating the transporting of illegal immigrants from the southern border to towns and cities across the nation. The administration has been secretly flying them in the dead of night without notice for months. Catholic Charities appears to be supporting the illegal activity on moral grounds.

 

Bradley tweeted, β€œEXCLUSIVE: The head of the largest NGO along the border, Catholic Charities of RGV explains they are getting reimbursed with taxpayer dollars & they do buy some plane tickets for migrants. She says they help migrants continue their journey otherwise they are left on the streets.”

 

β€œOther points: Mexico is and should be a viable option for migrants to work/live Families/sponsors aren’t vetted

Migrants should be allowed visas to work during their process Policies and messaging need to be more consistent from the administration,” she added in a separate tweet.

 

β€œBack in August, I talked with Sister Norma Pimentel of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley. I wanted to check in to see how things are going and if they have seen an increase or decrease in the need for assistance,” Bradley noted.

 

β€œSister Pimentel believes the administration has some policies in place to help with the influx of illegal immigration, however, she says the messaging needs to be clearer and more consistent from our leaders, otherwise, people are just going to keep coming with the hopes of getting in. Sister Pimentel explains that most migrants have families/sponsors that pay for their tickets to travel, but there are some the charity helps with,” she continued.

 

β€œShe says they were given money through a federal humanitarian grant. She says they were seeking around $1M and isn’t sure how much of that they have received,” Bradley reported.

 

The intrepid journalist has been fearless on the subject of American nonprofits, such as Catholic Charities, that are accepting taxpayer money to fund illegal immigrants using β€œmoral duty” as a justification for allegedly breaking the law and politicizing charity.

 

Bradley did note that some illegal immigrants come here to work, but that does not excuse those who break the law to do so.

 

The lengthy original video is illuminating, to say the least:

 

Fox News reported that the administration isn’t just bringing illegal immigrant families into the country… they are ferrying single male adults across the border and transporting them across the nation as well. The act of doing so is a violation of Title 42 and federal immigration law.

 

β€œLarge numbers of single adult illegal immigrants are being released and transported into the U.S. in Texas via a small, unmarked office in a parking lot” Fox News reported. β€œFox News footage shows several federally contracted buses dropping off dozens of mostly male migrants at a parking garage in Brownsville, Texas. Black tarps were set up with a makeshift sign that said β€˜Border Patrol drop-off’ above it.”

 

β€œFox witnessed men go into a small, unmarked office, then re-emerge moments later as multiple taxi cabs then showed up to collect the migrants – who were then shuttled off to nearby Harlingen Airport. There were no children or migrant families among the groups,” the report asserted. β€œSeveral of the migrants told Fox that they had crossed illegally that morning, paying approximately $2,000 per person to cartel smugglers. They also said they were flying to destinations including Miami, Houston, and Atlanta.”

The left is trying to block Donald Trump from appearing on the ballot in 2024. And their path to victory begins or ends with me.

 

The governing class is running in sheer panic; the Biden regime is crashing down. The numbers are in. The establishment is in shock at how disastrous twelve months in office have been for their geriatric savior. The ground is ripe for a Donald Trump reemergence in 2024.

 

But if you thought the 2020 election was hijacked (and it was), you’re going to hate the sequel. To preserve their unearned dominance and keep the plebeians from toppling their regime, the left has pivoted to lawfare in an unprecedented attempt to subvert democracy.

 

The left knows that, if the upcoming 2022 midterms are fair, it will be a cataclysmic indictment of the Washington swamp and our governing elites. If the 2024 presidential election is aboveboard, it will end in the complete toppling of the ruling class. Their utopian dream of open borders, riots, inflation, masks, and CRT is about to be upended by Walmart shoppers clinging to their guns and religion, the men and women whom Washington elites forgot but Donald Trump remembered.

 

But that will only happen if the next two elections are fair. And the left has a plan to prevent that, more sinister than any of the ballot harvesting and midnight vote dumps from 2020. This time, their plan is to simply ban the political opposition entirely, like a sham election in Stalin’s Russia.

 

Eleven voters in North Carolina, propped up by leftist donors, have filed a challenge to my 2022 House candidacy alleging that an obscure section of the 14th Amendment bars me from holding public office because I engaged in an β€œinsurrection.” My β€œinsurrection” was speaking at a rally, in front of the White House, questioning the results of the 2020 election. If these activists succeed in disqualifying me, the precedent is set. The autocratic left will topple MAGA supporters one by one, with our own free speech the only justification needed to label us β€œinsurrectionists.” Supporters of President Trump, and eventually President Trump himself, will be barred from office. The bar will be lowered until the only β€œRepublicans” eligible to hold office under this perversion of democracy have last names like β€œCheney” or β€œKinzinger.” The ruling class will have succeeded; the worst form of oligarchy will be achieved.

 

This is the real attempt to subvert democracy. There is no subversion greater than stripping the public of the right to even cast a vote for their preferred candidate. But when the Left’s media acolytes bother reporting on this effort at all, it’s to support it. You will not hear any accusations about β€œsubverting democracy” pointed at anyone complicit in this twisted legal putsch. To them, the only β€œdemocracy subversion” is by those of us who honored our oaths to defend the Constitution by objecting to the 2020 election.

Democrats will keep their hold on power, not by winning over the public, but by barring any real alternative from appearing on the ballot in the first place. The attack on my candidacy is the canary in the coal mine, the first blow in an all-out offensive against two and a half centuries of American democracy. But stunningly, most Republicans are not paying attention. Their ignorance is no defense, though. They will be next.

 

The right loses when it tries to sit at the table and play by the same rules that governed Washington politics decades ago. While we’ve been shuffling cards, the other side has flipped over the table and rewritten the rulebook. Even that metaphor falls short, though. For the left, politics is no game at all. It is a species of warfare, and the left believes in total war.

 

The left justifies their conduct by regarding themselves as the sole guardians of democracy. But for the left, β€œdemocracy” doesn’t mean free speech, political pluralism, or fair elections. β€œDemocracy” is just a rubber stamp placed upon their elitist vision of an America where they are permanently in power. To know their vision is to know their plan. To them, the battle is no longer Republican versus Democrat, it’s anointed elites versus, in their eyes, β€œinsurrectionists.”

 

During Donald Trump’s presidency, the FBI and the Justice Department targeted both him and his supporters elected to public office. When Peter Strzok texted his illicit lover β€œwe’ll stop him,” he was simply speaking the hidden ideology of the entire senior bureaucracy. In 2016, they used the phony Steele Dossier to spy on the Trump campaign. Today, they use January 6 to justify the same tactics, aimed at every vocal Trump supporter nationwide.

 

The Deep State feels the birth pangs of another MAGA wave. They know it’s coming, and as it grows closer, their work to shut down Trump and his supporters will grow even more frenzied. The January 6th prisoners, still held in the D.C. gulags with their basic rights stripped away, will become a nationwide template. A permanent war on nationwide β€œseditionists” will justify more and more violations of due process, and ever more outlandish charges against designated foes.

 

No patriot is safe. MAGA fighters in Congress are in the way and we’re loud, so they’ve come for us first.

 

But you’re next. Pay attention.

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is heading to San Antonio. The New York politician is set to appear at a February 12 campaign event for Jessica Cisneros and Greg Casar, according to a report from the San Antonio Express-News. Both Texas candidates are running in district races that include San Antonio.

 

Cisneros, a Laredo immigration attorney, is running against Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar, who's been the U.S. representative for Texas's 28th congressional district since 2005. The district covers a strip in deep South Texas starting in the eastern outskirts of San Antonio and ending at the U.S.-Mexico border.

 

Casar, a former Austin city council member, is one of four Democrats running in the Texas' 35th district, which stretches along Interstate 35 from San Antonio to Austin. Texas' 35th has been long held by U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett, who is seeking election in a newly formed district centered around Austin. Ocasio-Cortez recently endorsed Casar, saying she knows they can work together to deliver on expanding Medicare and creating good jobs, as well as climate change.

 

Both Cisneros and Casar are running in districts that have historically been blue, meaning they both could join AOC in Congress if they win March 1.

 

"We are 10 days away from [early] voting in Texas, and the stakes couldn't be higher," Cisneros told the Express-News. "Together, we'll fight for representation that will champion the interests of South Texans by investing in us through Medicare for All, good-paying union jobs, and our reproductive freedom."

I can not stand in TV shows where the "Hero" thinks he's all high & mighty when he lets a criminal go. and one that has usually murdered dozens off screen, but they let them go anyway.
