Leaked data from Canadian convoy protest fundraiser reveals hundreds of Australian donors
A leaked database of donations made to Canadian truckers protesting against vaccine mandates has listed hundreds of Australians among the convoy's supporters.
Key points:
The leaked data suggests more than 500 Australians donated to the fundraiser for the Canadian protesters
The largest Australian donation was from a Melbourne woman who gave $US1,300 ($1,817)
The money was raised on GiveSendGo, a Christian fundraising platform which has previously been used to fundraise for campaigns related to the January 2021 attack on the US Capitol
The Canadian protest has caused global consternation after it brought Ottawa to a standstill and inspired similar events in New Zealand and Australia.
The Canadian government has expressed particular concern about the role of overseas fundraising in sustaining the convoy.
A fundraiser on the self-styled Christian crowdfunding website GiveSendGo raised more than $US8 million for the Canadian protesters, with $US33,734 USD ($47,319) of this coming from donors who are listed as being in Australia.
On Monday, the GiveSendGo website was taken over by anonymous hackers and a spreadsheet was leaked containing the details of almost 93,000 donations.
The dataset lists individual names, email addresses, donation amounts and postcodes as well as messages of support for the Canadian convoy, such as: "Fighting with you all the way from Australia" and "Sending full support from our family here in Australia".
The ABC contacted several Australians on the list who confirmed they had made payment to the fundraising campaign. On Wednesday Australian time, GiveSendGo confirmed on Twitter that its website had been breached.
News outlets in the United States and Canada have also confirmed local donors.
The ABC confirmed the highest single donor on the Australian list to be a Melbourne woman who contributed $US1,300 ($1,817).
The woman, who did not wish to be identified, said she had family and friends who had lost their jobs due to vaccine mandates.
She said when she saw what was happening in Canada, she felt compelled to act.
"I haven't got much, but I wanted to donate as much as I could on principle," she told the ABC.
"I went to the Canberra protests over the weekend and do you know how exhausting it is to drive for eight hours?

They are due in court Friday along with Evan Colenutt, 23, of Raymond.
Also charged with mischief and possession of a weapon were: Ursula Allred, 22, of Magrath; Colenutt, 23; Justin Martin, 22, of Raymond; Eastin Stewart Oler, 22, of Raymond; Joanne Person, 62, of Coutts, and Janx Zaremba, 18, of Raymond. They, along with Colenutt, were released pending court hearings on March 15.
Luke Berk, 62 of Red Deer, was charged with mischief."

Canada Marks 40 Years Since the Ocean Ranger Sinking

It’s been 40 years since the semi-submersible drilling rig Ocean Ranger sank off the coast of Newfoundland during an intense North Atlantic storm with the loss of all 84 crew members, resulting in one of the offshore industry’s worst disasters.
The mobile offshore drilling unit (MODU) sank approximately 166 miles east of St. John’s, Newfoundland after it was struck by a large wave early in the morning on February 15, 1982. A distress message was sent from the rig a little after 1 a.m.: “WE ARE THE ODECO OCEAN RANGER… AND WE ARE EXPERIENCING A SEVERE LIST OF ABOUT 10-15 DEGREES AND ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A SEVERE STORM… WE WILL STAND BY AS LONG AS POSSIBLE.”
Only 22 bodies were ever recovered.
A U.S. Coast Guard Marine Board of Investigation determined the cause of the casualty to be the failure of ballast control room portlight(s) in seas up to 50 feet. The failure allowed seawater to enter the ballast control room, likely causing an electrical malfunction that set off a chain of events resulting in the capsizing and sinking of the rig. Investigators also found the rig had a lack of survival suits, inadequate lifeboat launching systems, and ineffective life rafts. Nearby vessels were also not equipped to rescue casualties from the water, especially in the prevailing weather conditions.

Most of the crew is believed to have died from drowning or hypothermia.
A separate Canadian royal commission inquiry found that the Ocean Ranger had several design flaws and its crew lacked proper safety training and equipment, which could have prevented the severe loss of life.
Months after the incident, a salvage team refloated and towed the rig to deeper water, where it was sunk.
The incident also contributed to major regulatory changes within Canada’s offshore industry and beyond, including the formation of the Canada-Newfoundland Offshore Petroleum Board (known today as the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board).

“I Commend them For Their Actions”: Ottawa Police Chief Claims Officers Used “Lawful and Safe Tactics” Yesterday When They Beat Protesters With Clubs, Fired Pepper Spray, and Trampled an Elderly Woman With a Horse
For almost a full two days, the Ottawa police and the RCMP have been terrorizing the Truckers for freedom convoy participants as they forcibly clear the protestors from the streets of Canada’s capital city.
Trudeau’s Stasi henchmen have been violently attacking the overwhelmingly peaceful protesters since Friday morning. They have mercilessly beat their fellow citizens with clubs, doused them with tear gas and pepper spray, smashed windows to drag people from their cars, and even sent in the horses to trample people.
Officers didn’t even blink when their horses pummeled an elderly woman and her walker into the ground.
On Saturday, Ottawa’s interim Chief of Police Steve Bell praised his officers for their jackbooted thuggery while addressing the media about the current law enforcement “operation.”
Bell justified his officers’ use of force, which he absurdly called “lawful and safe,” by claiming that the protesters were the ones who were being violent, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
“At every step in this operation, we’ve been upfront and clear with the unlawful protesters that they must leave the area. We’ve advised them of our enforcement’s efforts so they can continue to make informed decisions. We’ve backed up those warnings with adeliberate and methodical operation using lawful and safe tactics. The officers on the ground have shown patience and professionalism. They are well trained and experienced and they needed all of that expertise to bring about the results that we are seeing.
We all saw that the protesters were aggressive with the officers and we needed to use horses at one point. As a result, we responded this morning by adding helmets and batons to our equipment for the safety of our officers.
Our officers continued to face resistance. At one point, a flare was ignited by a protester. Officers used a chemical irritant – also known as ‘pepper spray’ – to disperse unlawful demonstrators who were resisting police orders.”

Is he serious? The police also reported that somebody threw a “bicycle.” Thankfully though, as the OPD needed to clarify, the horse was ok.
As you can clearly see, the horses were already trampling over people by the time they had even reached the man with the bicycle – Yet another shameless lie pushed by the bootlicking media and the OPD.
During Saturday’s press briefing, Bell also announced an additional 47 arrests, bringing the total number of captives over the past two days to 170. The protest has been cleared out of some areas and officers are currently working to clear the streets of all vehicles that have been left behind.
Bell claims that the officers “are doing what they have been trained to do” as they viciously crackdown on their fellow citizens over their lawful exercising of rights. He says that he is “proud” of their work and that he “commend[s]” them for their actions since yesterday morning when this brutal show of force began.
“So far, today, we have arrested 47 people. That brings the total, so far, to 170. As we continue to take back our streets, City of Ottawa crews and other municipal vehicles came into the area to clean up and tow away demonstrators’ possessions and vehicles. This is tough work. These officers are doing what they have been trained to do. They have demonstrated unparalleled discipline, restraint, and the utmost professionalism.
I commend them for their actions yesterday and throughout the day today. I’m proud of them and all the members of our police service that have contributed to this operation.”
This tyranny should be condemned across the board, not praised. It’s a sad, sad day for Canada when the police, who swore an oath to the people, would do this to their fellow citizens.

On day three of Trudeau’s brutal crackdown on the Trucker convoy, his self-proclaimed jackbooted officers have become increasingly hostile towards convoy participants – and even pedestrians on the street.
Shocking video emerged on Sunday that shows a group of Ottawa Police officers harassing a woman and threatening her with arrest for daring to record a video as she walked down the street to get a coffee.
Immediately upon spotting the camera, the officer begins to get hostile.
“Why is that camera in my face right now? The officer asks angrily. “Are you here partaking [in the protest]? You are in the red zone right now.”
“I’m scared. I want to go for a coffee down there,” the pedestrian replies, pointing behind the officers.
After questioning her about where she’s from and finding out she is from Alberta, not Ottawa, the officers get visibly irritated and immediately tell her it’s “time for you to leave.”
“I can’t even go down there for a coffee?” she asks in disbelief.
“No, you are in the red zone right now. If you don’t leave right now you will be arrested,” he replies.
As the woman turns to walk away, the camera pans to show that more officers have arrived. “Grab your stuff. We will be patrolling all day. If we see you again things will be different, the partner warns.
The partner’s words cause the woman to turn around and focus the camera onto the officers again, which causes the initial officer to launch forward and forcefully rip the camera out of her hands like a lunatic.
“What did I tell you? Take your camera and get outta here!” He yells. Walk away, your phone doesn’t need to be in our faces when you’re walking away.
As she grabs the phone to leave, he appears to hold onto the phone for an extra second in order to shout “get out of here” in her face.

CDC Officials Admit Agency Has Withheld Critical Covid Information From the Public, Including Data About Breakthrough Infections, Over Fears of “Vaccine Hesitancy”
Throughout the pandemic, the CDC has diligently maintained a running tally of Covid-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths for the public to view – you know, all of the numbers that make up the majority of virus fear porn.
But that information amounts to just a fraction of the data that has been collected by the agency.
According to a new report by the New York Times, the CDC has also been collecting much more detailed data about Covid infections that breaks down by age, race, and vaccination status. The critical information would go a long way towards figuring out an end to the pandemic, but the agency has purposefully suppressed the information from the public over fears that it would be “misinterpreted” and cause “vaccine hesitancy.”
In other words, the ‘experts’ in the US public health regime believe the plebs aren’t capable enough to interpret something themselves.
Within the data that has been withheld by the CDC are detailed information about breakthrough cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, which the agency has been collecting since the beginning of the vaccine rollout, according to officials who spoke to the NYT.
So much for the bogus lie that has been pushed by public health officials for months, claiming that breakthrough infections weren’t being tracked at all. The medical elites just decided to hide the data because it didn’t fit the approved narrative, and, naturally, blamed the potential for ‘misinformation’ as justification for the coverup.
From the New York Times:
“Kristen Nordlund, a spokeswoman for the C.D.C., said the agency has been slow to release the different streams of data “because basically, at the end of the day, it’s not yet ready for prime time.” She said the agency’s “priority when gathering any data is to ensure that it’s accurate and actionable.”
Another reason is fear that the information might be misinterpreted, Ms. Nordlund said.”
The performance of vaccines and boosters, particularly in younger adults, is among the most glaring omissions in data the C.D.C. has made public.
Last year, the agency repeatedly came under fire for not tracking so-called breakthrough infections in vaccinated Americans, and focusing only on individuals who became ill enough to be hospitalized or die. The agency presented that information as risk comparisons with unvaccinated adults, rather than provide timely snapshots of hospitalized patients stratified by age, sex, race and vaccination status.
But the C.D.C. has been routinely collecting information since the Covid vaccines were first rolled out last year, according to a federal official familiar with the effort. The agency has been reluctant to make those figures public, the official said, because they might be misinterpreted as the vaccines being ineffective.
Ms. Nordlund confirmed that as one of the reasons. Another reason, she said, is that the data represents only 10 percent of the population of the United States. But the C.D.C. has relied on the same level of sampling to track influenza for years.”

Canada: Police Confirm Probe into Alleged Officer Texts Celebrating Trampling Protesters

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) published a statement on Sunday confirming it is “looking into” alleged screenshots of text messages circulating this weekend that appear to show Canadian officers celebrating police brutality against the Ottawa Freedom Convoy protesters.
Law enforcement began a violent operation this weekend against the Freedom Convoy, a peaceful protest movement seeking an end to civil rights violations like vaccine and mask mandates, business lockdowns, and other coronavirus-related government limitations on freedom. The Convoy is largely trucker-led and has consisted of large trucks occupying major cities and blocking international road crossings. Its largest iteration was in Ottawa, where police dispatched officers on horseback to attack unarmed protesters beginning on Friday and have reportedly arrested nearly 200 people, despite no reports of significant violence prior to the police’s arrival.
“The RCMP is aware of the material circulating on social media pertaining to a chat group that includes some of its members, and we can confirm that we are looking into the matter,” the agency said in a statement on Sunday. “This material is not representative of those who have committed themselves to serving Canadians with integrity and professionalism.”
The statement claimed that RCMP officials had “put in place measures to ensure the continued integrity of police operations as well as the safety of our members.” It also reiterated that police officers have a “responsibility to hold themselves to the highest professional standards and are subject to the Code of Conduct of the RCMP at all times.”
“This includes acting with integrity, fairness, and impartiality, and avoiding any potential conflicts between their professional responsibilities and private interests,” the statement read.
The RCMP did not confirm that the texts in question were authentic.
The statement appeared to be a response to a report by the conservative Canadian outlet Rebel News published this weekend featuring screencaps of an alleged group text chain featuring RCMP and other law enforcement members. The most egregious comments printed were attributed to someone identified as RCMP Musical Ride member Andrew Nixon, including a photo of a pint of beer with the caption, “Cheers crew! Here’s to some sweet OT [overtime] this weekend for our on call members. Don’t kick all of them out until next weeks [sic] group gets our turn.”
Another text attributed to Nixon read, “Time for protesters to hear our jackboots on the ground.” When another group member joked, “this is a kinder gentler RCMP,” the person identified as Nixon replied, “Okay we can give out free hugs and unicorn stickers.”
Rebel News also published several images of the group allegedly discussing a widely circulating video of mounted police attacking the Freedom Convoy protesters in Ottawa, appearing to trample at least two people with their horses.
“Just watched that horse video- that is awesome!!! We should practice that manoeuvre,” one of the comments, whose alleged author was not identified, read.
Rebel News noted that it had not independently authenticated the alleged texts.
Rebel News also claimed its own journalist Alexa Lavoie suffered police brutality while attempting to report on the police dispersal.

Two of the most visible and vocal organizers behind the “Freedom Convoy” protests remain in an Ottawa jail as Tamara Lich was denied bail Tuesday and Pat King will wait until Friday to learn whether a judge will grant his request to return to Alberta under bail conditions.
Ontario Court Justice Julie Bourgeois said she believed there was a substantial likelihood Lich would re-offend if released.
“I cannot be reassured that if I release you into the community that you will not re-offend,” Bourgeois said. “Your detention is necessary for the protection and safety of the public.”
Following the hearing, Lich’s Ottawa-based defence lawyer, Diane Magas, said she was preparing a bail review application after her client was denied her freedom and hoped the application could be heard as soon as next week.
The judge cited the “immense” impact the convoy and the ensuing occupation had on the community and said she believed Lich was “obstinate” and “disingenuous” in her responses to the court during her bail hearing on Saturday.

Lich appeared in court via a video link Tuesday, while King appeared in person in a neighbouring courtroom, where his lawyer presented a bail plan that includes a $50,000 bond from an Alberta woman who acknowledged she had only known King for four weeks.
Kerry Komix, the proposed surety, also travelled to Ottawa to support the demonstration.
Assistant Crown Attorney Moiz Karimjee, who led the prosecution in both bail hearings, questioned the woman’s ability to act as a reliable surety and suggested she shared the same ideology as King.
