In a vote Wednesday evening, six Republicans in the Senate and 121 in the House backed objections to certifying Arizona’s electoral outcome, while seven Senate Republicans and 138 House Republicans supported an objection to certifying Pennsylvania’s electoral outcome. (We’ve included a full list at the end of this article.)

 

The lawmakers who upheld these objections, however, did so even though they were unfounded, won’t be going anywhere, and further amplify lies about a rigged election. Neither objection obtained a majority of votes in either chamber, and both failed.

A 2024 Republican presidential primary poll shows former President Donald J. Trump holding a colossal 40-point lead over the rest of the potential field if he decides to run.

 

The Harvard CAPS-Harris poll, obtained by the Hill, reveals that Trump drew 56 percent of respondents’ support, while 16 percent chose Gov. Ron Desantis (R-FL), making him the second leading candidate. Former Vice President Mike Pence garnered seven percent of the response if Trump were to run.

 

Trump has repeatedly teased and hinted at a 2024 bid since December 2020, including at CPAC earlier this year and a Georgia rally in March. He more recently told the New Yorker he is “very close to making a decision.”

 

Trump recently spoke about the possibility squaring off with DeSantis in the 2024 primaries.

 

“I don’t know if Ron is running, and I don’t ask him,” he told the New Yorker. “It’s his prerogative. I think I would win.”

 

The idea of a Trump-DeSantis ticket in 2024 has also made headlines, with the 45th President offering his thoughts on the Florida governor as a potential running mate. During an interview on Newsmax TV’s Wake Up America, host Rob Finnerty asked Trump about the possibility.

 

“Well, I get along with him,” Trump responded. “I was very responsible for his success because I endorsed him, and he went up like a rocket ship.”

 

While this poll has found the 45th President will dominate the field if he chooses to run, a different race begins to take shape should he not launch a candidacy in 2024.

 

If Trump does not run, DeSantis garners 36 percent of the vote, taking a 19-point lead over the field. The second closest candidate is Pence, at 17 percent, while Sen. Ted Cruz (R-FL) and former Ambassador to United Nations Nikki Haley both draw 8 percent. The Florida governor has risen to prominence in the Republican Party with his handling of the Wuhan coronavirus in the Sunshine State and his signing of legislation “dissolving Disney’s special tax and governing district,” as Breitbart News noted.

 

The poll surveyed 1,308 registered voters June 28-29. “The survey is an online sample drawn from the Harris Panel and weighted to reflect known demographics,” the Hill notes. “As a representative online sample, it does not report a probability confidence interval.”

Within the framework of the BRICS, the heads of the member states' space agencies held the first joint committee meeting on space cooperation in a video call, as announced by the China National Space Administration in late May.

 

A week earlier, foreign ministers from the BRICS group of developing economies discussed measures to strengthen the regional and international collaboration among the five nations.

 

The organization's members are known for their significant influence on regional affairs. Since 2009, the governments of the BRICS states have met annually at formal summits.

Neither my wife nor I are big Tom Cruise fans, so I was a little shocked when she suggested that we go see it. She said it got great reviews and the liberals hated it. So, that’s about the extent of what I knew before seeing it.

Vietnam's police have arrested the health minister and Hanoi mayor following accusations they were involved in a US$170 million coronavirus test-kit scandal, the public security ministry said Tuesday.

 

The arrests come as the Communist nation ramps up an anti-corruption drive in the wake of the Viet A scandal, in which officials were bribed to supply hospitals with vastly overpriced Covid-19 test kits.

 

The Public Security Ministry issued an arrest warrant late Tuesday for health minister Ngoc Anh over accusations of "violating regulations on management and use of State assets, causing loss and waste" during his term as minister of science and technology, according to a statement on the public security ministry website.

 

A warrant has also been issued for Hanoi mayor Nguyen Thanh Long for "abusing positions and powers while performing official duties".

 

"After being approved by the Supreme People's Procuracy, the Ministry of Public Security has implemented the decisions and orders in accordance with law," the statement on the website added.

 

The pair were stripped of their Communist Party membership on Monday, with authorities removing both from their positions earlier today before arresting them.

 

Several other provincial Centres for Disease Control (CDC) officials have been arrested in recent months over their involvement and approval of making, producing and using Viet A's coronavirus test-kits.

 

Viet A's director-general, Phan Quoc Viet, faces charges of bribing health officials to sell the company's kits to hospitals and provincial CDCs at prices significantly higher than the production cost, netting $172 million – $34 million of which was ploughed back into bribery.

The Spanish agency Europa Press reported, citing sources, that in response, Albares assured that Madrid never demanded a NATO invasion of Mali, noting that there were deep friendly ties between Spain and the West African nation.

 

Mali and Europe have been having tense relations over the period, especially after the Malian armed forces entered in late April a former French military base in the town of Gossi and reportedly discovered a mass grave, which is said to be the site of a massacre that killed 203. The French authorities have denied any involvement in the burials and insisted they were staged by the Russians, which is a claim heavily disputed by the locals and Moscow alike.

 

The Russian Foreign Ministry said it supported Mali's intent to launch an investigation into France over the mass graves.

 

France had sent troops to the western African country in 2013, with the stated goal of defeating jihadists in northern Mali and the Sahel. The operation ended in February following the deterioration of France's ties with its former colony.

The frequency and pace of North Korea's ballistic missile launches have grown this year, almost to the point of now becoming 'routine' amid the usual accompanying threats from Kim Jong Un; however, what's not common is for US and South Korea to 'answer' in as alarming a fashion - but that's precisely what happened in response to the latest salvo from Pyongyang…

 

"The U.S. and South Korean militaries launched eight ballistic missiles into the sea Monday in a show of force matching a North Korean missile display a day earlier that extended a provocative streak in weapons demonstrations," The Associated Press reports.

 

North Korea on Sunday had fired eight short-range missiles, marking what international reports said is a single-day record for most ballistic missile launches from the north. The series of launches came over 35 minutes from at least four separate locations, including both coasts and from north of the capital, among inland areas.

 

In responding quickly with its own corresponding Monday launches, the South Korean military described that "The tit-for-tat missile launches were aimed at demonstrating the ability to respond swiftly and accurately to North Korean attacks."

 

According to details in the AP, "The allies’ live-fire exercise involved eight Army Tactical Missile System missiles — one American and seven South Korean — that were fired into South Korea’s eastern waters across 10 minutes following notifications for air and maritime safety, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff and U.S. Forces Korea."

 

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol affirmed that Seoul would remain firm in its response to its northern neighbor and rival. "We will make sure there isn't a single crack in protecting the lives and property of our people," he said.

 

Some pundits were quick to question whether this will have any deterrent effect whatsoever: unlikely, they said.

 

He said that Pyongyang's latest signs of a ratcheting nuclear and ballistic missile program "are reaching the level of threatening not only peace on the Korean Peninsula but also in Northeast Asia and the world," Yonhap reported.

 

In the south's fresh muscle-flexing aimed at Pyongyang with the help of the US military, it launched seven surface-to-surface Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS). An additional eighth was launched directly from the US side of the drills. South Korea and US joint drills, which come routinely, have consistently angered the north, resulting and frequent threats and denunciations. With this latest missile launch 'response' to the north, however, the north could choose to escalate further by ramping up more and more frequent tests.

Alec Baldwin Hanged in Crazy Execution

 

The men responsible for effecting Deep State executions have seen it all. Or have they? From Gavin Newsom’s demonic homily to Loretta Lynch’s sudden transformation to a Born-Again Christian, GITMO hangings have been replete with unexpected twist endings and theatricality. And a bloated Alec Baldwin, who was hanged there Wednesday morning, expanded that tradition with an outburst both comedic and acrimonious.

 

Somehow a handcuffed Baldwin had writhed his prison pants and underwear down to his ankles while being driven from Camp Delta to the execution site. He appeared from the Humvee half-naked, exposing himself to Vice Admiral Darse E. Crandall and 3 other officers there to witness the hanging.

 

“Born naked, die naked,” Baldwin shouted, sweat dripping from his flabby jowl. “How do you like me now, Admiral Crandall? And F*** you, Donald Trump. I made you famous.”

 

President Trump was not present.

 

Before addressing Baldwin, Vice Adm. Crandall publicly reprimanded the chaperones, demanding to know how Baldwin’s disrobement had gone unnoticed and why both soldiers were seated up front. He called it a dereliction of duty and a violation of standard operating procedures. He commanded the soldier who had been riding shotgun to pull up Baldwin’s pants.

 

By that time, though, Baldwin was lying prone on a damp patch of grass, squirming around.

 

“Hey, Crandall, did you know I played a colonel in Pearl Harbor, with Kate Beckinsale. Don’t think I wasn’t tapping that,” Baldwin said, and began humping the ground.

 

“Tase him now,” Vice Adm. Crandall barked.

 

“We should just put a bullet in his brain,” an officer present said.

The soldiers who had driven Baldwin to the gallows unholstered their tasers, then fired the small, barbed darts at Baldwin’s exposed skin. He trembled a moment but seemed otherwise unharmed. The soldiers helped him atop the platform where another soldier whose uniform bore no rank or insignia fitted him with a rope necklace.

 

The rest of the event went as planned. Baldwin, shaken but conscious, offered no resistance as Vice Adm. Crandall gave the “execute” command.

 

Baldwin was pronounced dead at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Biden considers China tariffs rollback, plans talks with Xi

 

Biden said on Saturday he was in the process of making up his mind on tariffs and the potential call with Xi, though he hasn't made a final determination yet.

Biden said on Saturday he was in the process of making up his mind on tariffs and the potential call with Xi, according to an official familiar with the matter, though he hasn't made a final determination yet.

 

Biden and Xi last spoke in a nearly two-hour-long video call on March 18, their first following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The US president warned his counterpart at the time of “consequences” should Beijing provide support for President Vladimir Putin’s war, according to the White House readout of the chat.

 

Business groups and some outside economists have been pressuring the administration to relax at least a portion of the taxes on imports, saying it would be a significant step that the president could take to immediately cut costs for consumers.

Dominican Republic minister shot dead in office

The Dominican Republic's minister of environment and natural resources has been shot and killed in his office by a close personal friend, officials say.

 

Orlando Jorge Mera, 55, was holding a meeting at the time of the attack. At least six shots were heard.

 

A presidential spokesman identified the assailant as Miguel Cruz, describing him as a childhood friend of the minister.

Mitch McConnell, who was majority leader at the time, requested Stenger’s resignation the day after the pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol. The Senate’s top Democrat, Sen. Chuck Schumer, had vowed that he would fire Stenger when he became Senate majority leader later in the month.

Adding to speculation about the timing of his death, a source close to the January 6 committee reported investigators “recently obtained evidence and [would be] receiving witness testimony,” according to The Hill.

It is likely the January 6 select committee would consider Stenger a hostile witness, as he became a kind of scapegoat for the Capitol breach, leading him, the House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving, and Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund to resign their positions.

Third monkeypox case recorded in Sydney, NSW

 

A fresh monkeypox case has emerged in one Aussie state after a resident returned home from a trip overseas.

 

A third case of monkeypox has been identified in NSW after a Sydney resident returned home from overseas.

 

The man in his 50s presented to his doctor with a mild illness just days after arriving back into Sydney from Europe.

 

He is isolating at home while NSW Health trace his last movements.

 

This case is not connected to the two previously reported cases in NSW over the past month.

 

NSW chief health officer Kerry Chant praised the clinicians who identified the symptoms of the rare virus that until recently had never been identified in NSW.

ICE conducts national operation to apprehend noncitizens who unlawfully re-entered US

 

WASHINGTON - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) announced today the results of a national operation, during which officers apprehended 119 noncitizens who have unlawfully re-entered the United States after prior removals. The operation focused on apprehending noncitizens removed from the U.S. within the last five years pursuant to a final order of removal, who subsequently re-entered without authorization and have been determined to be a threat to national security, public safety, or border security.

“ICE is committed to the safe and effective enforcement of the nation’s immigration laws as our officers fulfill our important public safety mission,” said ICE Acting Director Tae D. Johnson. “This operation highlights the tremendous efforts of our officers to apply an organized and methodical approach to the identification, location, and arrest of noncitizens who are national security, public safety, or border security threats.”

 

During the nationwide operation, which occurred June 1-7, officers prioritized enforcement actions on noncitizens in accordance with the Guidelines for the Enforcement of Civil Immigration Law issued by Secretary Mayorkas on Sept. 30, 2021.

 

Among those arrested, 110 have convictions for crimes including, but not limited to, aggravated assault with a gun, robbery, burglary, kidnapping, hit and run, drug trafficking, and child molestation.

 

ICE officers carefully evaluated individual targets on a case-by-case basis, assessing the totality of the facts and circumstances to make informed arrest determinations. Those cases amenable to federal criminal prosecution may be presented to the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO). ERO will also appropriately coordinate with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to evaluate completion of noncitizen application(s).

 

In Fiscal Year (FY) 2021, ERO conducted 74,082 administrative arrests of noncitizens, which included 12,025 individuals with aggravated felony convictions. Offenses associated with noncitizens arrested in FY 2021 included 1,506 homicide related offenses, 3,415 sexual assaults, 19,549 assaults, 2,717 robberies, and 1,063 kidnappings.

 

The operation follows the six-month anniversary of the implementation of the Department’s enforcement priorities and highlights the progress ICE continues to demonstrate in focusing its limited resources on cases of greatest importance to the national interest and public safety. Members of the public can report crime and suspicious activity by calling 1-866-347-2423 or completing the ICE tip form.

The survey uploaded to the preprint server ResearchGate presented data from more than 18,500 respondents from the “Control Group” project with more than 300,000 overall participants. An analysis revealed that compared to those who got jabbed, unvaccinated people reported fewer hospitalizations.

 

The international survey also found that the unvaccinated people from more than 175 countries were more likely to self-care to prevent and manage COVID-19 infection. They used natural products like vitamin D, vitamin C, zinc, quercetin, and drugs, such as ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine.

 

Many participants experienced discrimination for refusing the administration of “genetic vaccines” and struggled with mental health burdens due to the stigma in the mostly “vaccinated” society.

Jan. 6 Committee Ignores Clear Evidence Of Mass Illegal Voting, Systematically Broken Election Laws

 

In its attempt to blame former President Donald Trump for the crimes committed on January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol, House Democrats have spent the week focused on Trump’s unsupported claims of widespread election fraud. The Jan. 6 select committee and the legacy media outlets promoting the show trial completely ignore, however, the verifiable evidence of systemic violations of election law, illegal voting, and the constitutionally deficient execution of the November 2020 election—including issues Trump challenged following the election.

 

Georgia provides a peach of an example. President Biden won Georgia and the state’s 16 electoral votes by a margin of 11,779 individual votes, but before the state certified the results of the November 2020 election, Trump challenged the outcome, raising several issues both in and out of court. Trump hammered accusations of fraud in Fulton County, claiming counterfeit ballots secreted in suitcases and vote-flipping by Dominion Voting Systems gave Biden the victory. But Trump also contested the Georgia results based on evidence indicating that tens of thousands of illegal votes were improperly counted.

 

While Trump’s legal team argued illegal votes in some 30-plus categories were improperly included in the final election tally, violations of Section 21-2-218 of the Georgia election code alone closed the gap between the two presidential candidates. That section provides that state “residents must vote in the county in which they reside, unless they changed their residence within 30 days of the election” and “outside of the 30-day grace period, if people vote in a county in which they no longer reside, ‘their vote in that county would be illegal.’”

 

Shortly after the November general election, Mark Davis, the president of Data Productions Inc. and an expert in voter data analytics and residency issues, compared voting records obtained from the Georgia secretary of state’s office with the National Change of Address (NCOA) database. After excluding individuals who moved within 30 days of the general election, Davis “identified nearly 35,000 Georgia voters who indicated they had moved from one Georgia county to another, but then voted in the 2020 general election in the county from which they had moved.”

 

Trump highlighted this evidence during a telephone conversation with Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. His election lawyers, he said, noted from that data they “have actually hard numbers” of tens of thousands of votes that were counted illegally, and that with the margin of victory less than 12,000, “that in and of itself is sufficient to change the results or place the outcome in doubt.”

 

The lawyers explained that they “would like to sit down with your office . . . if you are able to establish that our numbers are not accurate, then fine.” While the secretary of state’s representative indicated he was “happy to get with our lawyers and we’ll set that up,” Cleta Mitchell, one of Trump’s election lawyers, told The Federalist that meeting never happened.

Lithuania not interested in escalation of tensions with Russia: PM

 

Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte said that her country is not interested in escalating tensions with Russia.

 

During a speech aired on the LRT broadcaster, Simonyte pointed out that the trilateral agreement between Vilnius, Moscow, and the EU on the movement of passengers still works.

 

The Lithuanian Prime Minister claimed that "There is no blockade of Kaliningrad … Transportation [of goods not under sanctions] will continue, as well as the transit of passengers, in respect of which we have a tripartite agreement between the European Union, the Russian Federation and Lithuania."

 

"Let me stress once again that Lithuania is implementing the EU sanctions that were adopted in mid-March. We definitely never had a goal to escalate anything," she mentioned.

 

The prime minister also said that there are exceptions in the sanctions regulations for humanitarian goods, and their transportation can not be restricted.

 

Russia warns Lithuania of serious consequences

In a related context, Moscow warned Lithuania of "serious" consequences on Tuesday over its restriction of rail traffic to Russia's Kaliningrad exclave.

 

Moscow summoned the EU's ambassador to Russia, and the Russian foreign ministry affirmed that Lithuania's actions "violate the relevant legal and political obligations of the European Union."

 

Moscow lodges protest over Lithuania decision

 

State-owned Lithuanian Railways halted cargo transit between Russia and its Baltic Sea area on Friday at midnight, citing EU limitations. According to the region's officials, up to 50% of all rail goods to Kaliningrad have been banned.

 

In response, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed in a statement that Moscow had lodged a protest to the Lithuanian charge d'affaires in Russia in connection with the decision of Vilnius to ban rail cargo transit to the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.

 

The Ministry also summoned the Lithuanian charge d'affaires earlier in the day.

 

It underscored that "the head of the diplomatic mission was strongly protested in connection with the ban on the rail transit of a large range of goods through the territory of Lithuania to the Kaliningrad region, imposed by Vilnius without prior notification of the Russian side."

 

"We demanded the immediate lifting of these restrictions," the Russian statement affirmed, adding that Russia regards the actions of Lithuania as openly hostile and in violation of the international obligations of Vilnius.

 

Lithuania's move to prohibit rail goods transit to the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad is unprecedented, considered Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, who described it as a "violation of everything."

Priest’s Book Tells Sad Tale of Jesuits’ Abortion Complicity in the USPART IV

COMMENTARY: The late Jesuit Father Paul Mankowski knew how badly some of his brother priests and his superiors had betrayed the Society of Jesus.

Fifteen years on from Father Drinan’s final benediction for Pelosi, both the Speaker and President Joe Biden turn to Jesuits for political cover for their abortion politics. Both of them sought audiences recently from the first Jesuit pope, with Biden claiming the approval of Pope Francis to continue receiving Holy Communion at the Jesuit parish in Washington that he attends.

 

A former Jesuit provincial himself and admirer of Father Arrupe, Pope Francis would no doubt be scandalized — if not surprised — to learn of the extent of Jesuit complicity in the monstrous scandal that was the congressional career of Father Robert Drinan.

 

To what extent have such Jesuits — in a great calumny upon the many other faithful fathers and brothers — become famous for complicity in giving cover to Catholics who promote the abortion license?

 

Consider this 1997 column from Maureen Dowd of The New York Times, a Catholic who favors liberal abortion laws. She was writing about Nothing Sacred, a TV show in which a “hip, glib, cute young priest” drives his penitent to get an abortion:

 

“I didn’t think the show reflected the point of view of the entertainment elite or, as some critics have ranted, of its ‘non-practicing’ Jewish producers,” Dowd wrote. “I recognized the point of view of the Jesuit elite. Jesuits are the flyboys of the church, the teaching intelligentsia most likely to be found drinking pricey wine and traveling abroad and devising interpretations of church dogma.”

 

In this special “Ignatian Year” declared by the Society of Jesus, the Ignatian priority on the examination of conscience would seem fitting regarding the political activity of Father Drinan, now that Father Mankowski’s memorandum has revealed a more complete story.

 

Epilogue:

In a previous article, I wrote about the failed attempt by St. John Paul II to reform the Jesuits in October 1981. It is surely the case that the scandal of Father Drinan, and the apparent inability of Father Arrupe to do anything about it, contributed to John Paul’s conclusion that the Jesuit leadership was incapable of reforming itself.

 

In that, Father Mankowski concurred. In a 2004 letter included in Jesuit at Large, he writes to a young man enquiring about entering the Society:

 

"It is my conviction that, at present, the Society of Jesus is a corrupt order. That means that it has serious problems in all its endeavors at all levels of authority, and, more importantly, it has lost the capacity to mend itself by its own internal resources. … In all candor I have to say that, at present, I see no indication whatever of the capacity or a willingness on the part of the Roman Jesuit leadership to address and remedy these problems.”

Father Mankowski had not lost hope though, and knew that the charism of Ignatius was poured into earthen vessels. He passed on this advice, despite the bleak state of the Society: “That said, if I had to do it all over again, knowing what I know now, I would enter the Jesuits tomorrow.”

 

One hopes that Father Mankowski is now doing his bit for Jesuit reform, now blessedly beyond the reach of superiors bent on frustrating that essential mission.
