Pennsylvania principal faces 30 felony sex charges for relationship with student

 

A Pennsylvania high school principal was arrested and faces more than 30 felony sex charges for an inappropriate sexual relationship he had with a male student over a seven-year period.

 

 

Roger Weaver Freed, 34, was charged Tuesday with 30 counts of indecent sexual contact with a student, one count of sexual assault, one count of aggravated indecent assault, one count of corruption of a minor and three misdemeanor counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor, according to court records.

 

 

Police said Freed began a relationship with the student, who is now college-age, in 2015 when the boy was in middle school. The relationship turned sexual two years later and continued after the student graduated high school up until a few months ago — when it ended in April, according to an affidavit.

 

 

The student told investigators that he first grew close to Freed after the death of a family member. He began to lean on the educator for emotional support and said “he trusted Free ‘like an older brother,'” the document states.

 

 

Their relationship soon grew to time outside of school, with Freed volunteering to give the student rides to various locations so they could have “one-on-one conversations.”

 

 

The student said he considered the educator and himself to be “bros” and said they could talk about anything, including his sexuality. They routinely texted, called and FaceTimed one another, police said.

 

 

In 2017, Freed and the student’s relationship became sexual and the principal asked the boy to promise not to tell anyone, stressing that he could lose his job.

 

 

The student said he felt “overwhelming guilt” after the first sexual encounter, according to the affidavit.

 

 

The pair continued to engage in sexual activity four to five times a week throughout the student’s next two years of high school. The student told police their relationship continued as he graduated high school and entered college.

 

 

Freed was arraigned Tuesday and released on supervision after making $175,000 bail. He is required to wear an ankle monitor at all times and is prohibited from having any contact with minors or the victim.

 

 

Freed, who is employed as a principal at Williamsport Area High School, has been suspended with pay by the school board, according to PennLive.

FBI emails recently made public during the trial against now-acquitted DNC attorney Michael Sussmann show the bureau was still in the process of requesting images of the DNC servers on Oct. 13, 2016. The server images, which are equivalent to a virtual copy of the alleged crime scene, were taken by private cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike.

 

On Oct. 7, six days before CrowdStrike agreed to mail the server images to the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) released a statement accusing Russia of hacking U.S. political organizations and disseminating emails allegedly stolen through the hack. The statement was approved and encouraged by Obama, according to then-DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson.

 

“The president approved the statement. I know he wanted us to make the statement. So that was very definitely a statement by the United States government, not just Jim Clapper and me,” Johnson told the House Intelligence Committee in June 2017, referring to then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

Global Super Tanker 747 Shut Down as Wildfire Season Begins

DENVER (AP) — The world’s largest firefighting plane has been shut down just as Western states prepare for a wildfire season that fire officials fear could be worse than the average year.

Tara Lee, a spokeswoman for Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, said via email Friday that the state’s Department of Natural Resources was alerted to the shutdown of the worlds’ largest firefighting plane called the Global SuperTanker. Representatives from that department didn’t immediately respond to questions about how that move could affect the state’s firefighting efforts.

The decision to cease the SuperTanker’s operations was first reported by Fire Aviation, an industry website that reported an email was sent this week to officials in Colorado, Oregon, Washington and the U.S. government saying that the investor group that owns the plane was shutting it down.

 

A spokesman for company that operates the plane, Global SuperTanker Services LLC, declined to comment Friday.

The Global SuperTanker is a converted Boeing 747 plane that can dump up to 19,200 gallons (72,678 liters) of water or flame retardant in just six seconds and fly as low as 200 feet (61 meters) above the ground to do its work. It can be refilled in just 13 minutes.

The SuperTanker has helped in many Western wildfires and was deployed in Israel in 2016 and in Chile in 2017. Costs can run as much as $250,000 a day.

Biggest joke was the recommendation in hospital to eat liquid medical food only, so that my colon wouldn't have much to do.

 

This type of food, if you can even call it that, is pure sugar.

And I found out years later that sugar makes it far worse. I stopped with that completely immediately after I found out.

 

Now that is actually pure evil, nothing surprises me anymore.

They also blamed it on genes, me as a child not being outside (which was bs, they just assumed I was a computer nerd 100% at home). My research even confirmed that even athletes get that disease. It's all lies. They can't even be honest as in " we don't know what's going on".

The sabre-rattling and muscle-flexing between the People’s Republic of China and the United States over Taiwan reached boiling point in the last few weeks.

 

After US President Joe Biden said in Japan on 23 May that America would militarily intervene if China tries to annex the island country by force, a furious Beijing shot back within hours warning America to be “cautious in words and deeds” and asking it to “earnestly follow the ‘One China principle”.

 

The White House immediately denied any change in its ‘Once China’ policy — i.e. that the Republic of China, or Taiwan, is part of China — in another denial of Biden’s oft-repeated gaffes on military intervention on Taiwan’s behalf, including the one made during a CNN town hall in October 2021.

 

The very next day, while Biden was attending a Quad summit in Tokyo, four Chinese and two Russian strategic bombers, Xian H-6s and Tu-95s, and an Il-20 electronic intelligence aircraft conducted a joint patrol over the East China Sea and the Sea of Japan for several hours in a show of strength.

 

Chinese President Xi Jinping has often said that Beijing could use military force for an “unavoidable” reunification with Taiwan, whose “independence is a reversal of history and a dead-end road”.

 

Chinese defence minister Wei Fenghe reiterated Xi’s stand during a meeting with his US counterpart Lloyd Austin at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on 10 June. Warning the US defence secretary that China would “not hesitate to start a war”, he said, “Taiwan is China’s Taiwan… If anyone dares to split Taiwan from China, the Chinese Army will definitely not hesitate to start a war no matter the cost.” In an aggressive speech delivered to the summit on 12 June, Wei repeated China’s determination to “fight to the very end” to stop Taiwanese independence.

 

PLA has transformed by learning from US wars

 

Though the possibility of a Chinese attack on Taiwan and an American counterattack is remote for now, notwithstanding Biden’s gaffes or statements on Taiwan, the US will think several times before engaging with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

 

Though the Taiwan Relations Act, 1959, states that the US shall “maintain the capacity” to resist any “resort to force or other forms of coercion that would jeopardise the security or social or economic system of the people of Taiwan”, military intervention by America against China would be agonisingly long and catastrophic for the region.

 

“Neither Beijing nor Washington is likely to have the upper hand after the first week of the conflict, suggesting that it would eventually become a protracted conflict,” according to Washington DC-based think tank Centre for a New American Security (CNAS), which partnered with US lawmakers, former Pentagon officials and China experts in organising a 2027 hypothetical war game in April.

 

Raising the possibility of Beijing using nukes, the CNAS warned: “The war game demonstrated how quickly the conflict may escalate with China and the United States crossing red lines.”

 

By the time the Russia-Ukraine War gets over, Beijing would have gained sufficient knowledge from the military mistakes of Moscow, its logistical nightmare and lack of coordination in the initial phase of the war, how to prevent them and plan a fool-proof attack on Taiwan — like it did after the two Iraq wars.

 

Why Russia has been unable to defeat Ukraine despite gaining enough combat experience in Georgia, Chechnya, Syria and Crimea will be a valuable lesson for China. In fact, according to reports, Chinese military experts are discussing the reasons for the initial Russian setbacks and offering suggestions.

BERLIN — Framed by the snow-capped peaks of Germany’s Bavarian alps, the castle set to host this year’s Group of Seven summit starting Sunday has a history almost as dramatic as its backdrop.

 

Built at the onset of World War I by philosopher and theologian Johannes Müller as a communal retreat for his followers, Schloss Elmau has served as aNazi military vacation camp, a field hospital, a sanctuary for Holocaust survivors and the site of Germany’s last G-7 meeting.

The castle’s backstory tracks closely with Germany’s tumultuous 20th-century history. Now a luxury hotel, it is still owned by Müller’s family, despite falling out of the family’s hands temporarily during the denazification process following World War IIbecause of the philosopher’s adulation of Adolf Hitler.

While intended as a mountain sanctuary, it has not always been so for all those associated with it. Dietmar Müller-Elmau, Müller’s grandson and the hotel’s current proprietor, was born in the hotel but said he had been “at war with it” for decades.

 

When the Third Reich began, Müller had what the Germany government described in 2014 as an “ambivalent attitude to the Nazi regime.”

 

While the philosopher had lauded Hitler as “the receiving organ for God’s government” and a “leader of a national revolution of the common good over self-interest,” he thought Hitler’s anti-Jewish policies were “a disgrace for Germany.”

 

“He marveled at the Jews,” said Müller-Elmau, pointing to his grandfather’s close network of Jewish academic friends. “He thought they were the ‘better Germans.’ ”

(((CNN))) State and local election officials in Michigan and other political battlegrounds are gearing up to deal with a new element in this year's elections: a large influx of Republicans seeking to become poll workers, recruited by the Republican National Committee and other conservative organizations to play an active role in administering the midterm elections.

The development and a recent story in Politico detailing GOP recruitment sessions and how some of these would-be poll workers cling to debunked claims about fraud in the 2020 election have raised alarms that Republican election deniers could infiltrate official election operations and undermine the process.

The surge in interest also comes against the backdrop of efforts by former President Donald Trump's allies, such as Steve Bannon, to carry out what he calls a "precinct committee strategy," with the goal of installing Trump loyalists in local Republican Party positions and election posts.

"It is jarring to know that there is a political party, or a cohort of a political party, that is feeding folks misinformation and will use that as motivation to potentially interfere with our elections and with citizens' right to vote," Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, a Democrat, told Fredreka in a recent interview.

Benson, who said she has been following the uptick in GOP poll worker applications for weeks as part of her regular discussions with local election officials, met Monday with the state attorney general's office, the Michigan State Police and local officials to discuss, among other topics, how to protect against election interference, her aides said.

'Seat at the same table'

RNC officials say their recruitment drive has a straightforward goal: correcting a longstanding party imbalance in who serves in these roles. At Detroit's TCF Center in 2020, where election workers in the heavily Democratic city counted absentee ballots, Republicans made up 170 of the more than 5,400 poll workers, the RNC said.

Evidence shows Jan. 6 committee 'violated House rules' on finance, says GOP Rep. Rodney Davis

Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) on Thursday said Republicans have found evidence that the Jan. 6 committee investigating the U.S. Capitol riot has "violated House rules" relating to financial decisions.

 

With Republicans poised to retake the House following the 2022 midterm elections, Davis has written a letter, obtained by Just the News, to Jan. 6 panel chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) telling him to preserve all of the committee's records, including its communications.

 

"Given the on-going questions concerning the Select Committee’s compliance with federal law and House Rules, it is vital that the Select Committee preserve these records so that effective oversight may be undertaken," Davis wrote, attacking the committee's legitimacy.

 

On the "John Solomon Reports" podcast Thursday, Davis said he is "not afraid to make criminal referrals" if the Jan. 6 committee does not follow his preservation order.

 

Davis is also the ranking member of the House Administration Committee, which oversees the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian, and other institutions.

 

He is one of five Republicans whom House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) recommended sit on the Jan. 6 panel before Pelosi rejected some of the picks. He told editor-in-chief John Solomon that the committee is a "sham" and he voted against its creation.

 

"We've uncovered evidence that the select committee has violated House rules when it comes to making financial decisions within that select committee's jurisdiction," Davis said.

 

"When Republicans take over the House after November, as the Chairman of the House Administration Committee, I will use my oversight responsibility to open an investigation into the select committee's clear violation of House rules, and we will get to the bottom of those violations for the American people," he promised.

 

Davis told Thompson that the committee needs to preserve extensive records, including text messages, social media posts, telephone records, transcripts and "and any other information relating to the Select Committee’s activities," regardless of how the information was stored.

 

"Should any requested item be subject to privilege, please describe the document and the privilege assertion in sufficient detail so that it may be considered appropriately," he added.

 

The concept of privilege has been heavily focused upon in the committee, which has denied privilege rights to at least some of those subpoenaed, including former White House trade advisor Peter Navarro.

 

Davis also told Solomon that there is evidence showing that at the Capitol Police Department "politics was a driving force in making the terrible security decisions leading up to January 6."

 

There is "some bad leadership within Capitol police right now," Davis said, adding, "I'm going to hold them accountable when we're in the majority."

POTUS at Faith and Freedom Coalition said “and we will retake the White House in 2024”. Earlier he asked the audience if they wanted him to run for President in 2024, the cheered YES for a couple of minutes. But he never made the commitment to do it. He also said, “If I choose to run”, and I think he “if I choose” again.

 

This bothered me, I thought hell No, we won’t last until 2024. So what if the Devolution plan is in force? And it lasts for two years? What if POTUS is CiC for another two years, the military does its thing, they all clean up the government. If you look at Myanmar, its been more than two years the military has been in charge and they just finalizing the prosecutions. What if Trump only takes control for two years, and then another Republican is elected in 2024 and that was the plan all the time?

 

POTUS just turned 76, if he ran and won he’d be 82 at the end if his term. Would the leftist public and media ever allow him to be POTUS again.

 

My choice would be devolution and he wins another 4 years, but hes being very careful about the words he chooses.

Biden says briefed on US mercenaries 'missing' in Ukraine

 

President Joe Biden said Friday that he had been briefed on two Americans who had gone missing in Ukraine, and he urged Americans not to travel to the war-torn country.

 

When asked about the two American volunteer fighters who are believed to have been captured by Russian forces, Biden responded, "I have been briefed."

 

Biden told reporters that he didn't know where the men were, stressing that "Americans should not be going to Ukraine."

 

The US State Department urged Russia on Thursday to treat any Americans captured while fighting alongside Ukrainian troops as prisoners of war who ought to be treated humanely.

 

It also stated that a third American, in addition to the two military veterans who were reportedly captured by Russian forces in a pitched battle last week, was believed to be missing in Ukraine.

 

According to family members and members of Congress, Alexander Drueke and Andy Huynh, who were both living in Alabama, lost contact with their relatives while fighting alongside Ukrainian forces near the Russian border.

 

Third US fighter goes missing in Ukraine

 

Earlier today, following the announcement of two US citizens missing in Ukraine, presumably captured by Russian forces, State Department Spokesperson Ned Price stated that there are "reports of one additional American whose whereabouts are unknown."

 

On Thursday, Price spoke to the media and clarified that "unfortunately we don't know the full details of that case."

 

While CNN reported on the identity of the third missing American as being the US Marine veteran Grady Kurpasi, based on information collected from his wife, the US official did not validate the information.

 

On Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told the Solovyov Live show, when asked about the two captured US veterans in specific, “I do not have such information, and I have been checking it every day. I will check it today as well. We disclose to the public all information about the fate of arrested mercenaries or those on trial… I want to reiterate that I will double-check whether there is any additional information on this issue.”

 

US mercenaries in Ukraine

 

Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform reported on March 6 that 3,000 US "volunteers" were to arrive in Ukraine, amid Russia's ongoing military operation in the country.

 

The agency quoted the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ press service via Telegram as saying that "the volunteers are ready to repel Russia as part of an international battalion."

 

Among the US volunteers are army veterans "with combat experience gained in Iraq and other hotspots around the world," the agency reported.
