The Senate last month unanimously passed the bill, which would extend the same 24 hour security to Supreme Court justices and their families that other top government officials receive.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said before the vote that House Democrats earlier this week refused to vote on the bill on three separate occasions and that there was "no reason" to delay the vote.
The California Republican on Tuesday accused House Democrats of stalling a bill, which they altered to include protection for Supreme Court employees.
However, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said his Republican senators would not provide enough votes to pass that version in the upper chamber.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had refused to hold vote on the Senate version, saying, "This issue is not about the justices, it’s about staff and the rest. The justices are protected."
Concerns over the safety of justices heightened after a man armed with a gun was arrested last week outside the home of Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
The man said he had planned to kill Kavanaugh because he was angry about a leaked draft opinion that suggested the high court's conservative majority would ruled on a Mississippi abortion bill that will effectively overturn Roe v. Wade, a decades-old decision that gives women the constitutional right to get an abortion.
The leaked opinion, in May, also resulted in protests outside the homes of several justices.
The Supreme Court is expected to hand down a decision on the Mississippi case by the end of the month and as soon as Wednesday – which is expected to bring protests outside of the court building, in Washington, D.C., and at the homes of justices.

Detectives said Harris and Steven Stewart broke into a trailer and Alonso Beltran Lara, 18, who was an alleged member of the cartel, showed up while they were inside. Deputies said the men questioned Lara about the stash and when he didn’t give them the answers they wanted, they shot him in the head.
Investigators said that after the pair killed Lara, other members of the cartel showed up and Harris was killed in the gunfight that followed.
Steven Stewart survived the shooting and was arrested days later on charges of first-degree burglary, first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Gar-yon-ded-weh Stepney, 41, who was wanted for months in connection with the shooting, was also arrested in July 2021 and charged with first-degree murder.
In March, Steven Stewart’s wife, Santana Stewart, was arrested for allegedly providing false statements to investigators, as well as deleting text messages between herself and her husband on the day of the shooting. An arrest warrant said she also picked up her husband after the deadly shootout, but told deputies that she didn’t know anything about what happened and was home that night.
No other details have been released at this point.

VP Kamala Harris claims SCOTUS 2A decision 'defies' the Constitution
On Thursday, the Supreme Court of the United States struck down a New York state law which had prohibited applicants from receiving a concealed weapons permit without first demonstrating "proper cause." Vice President Kamala Harris has since responded to the ruling, saying that it "defies common sense and the Constitution of the United States."
In her opening remarks to a convocation of state attorneys general, Harris, a former AG of California, stated that she and President Biden "are deeply concerned and troubled by the Supreme Court's ruling," which she also claimed "defies logic."
Later in the speech, Harris reiterated the singular role that state AGs play in securing "fundamental rights and freedoms" and identified abortion as an example of a "right" that is currently in dire need of protection.
About the attorneys general in the audience, Harris said, "We are specifically going to talk about an extension of their responsibilities which has to do with the responsibility to concern themselves with the priority of ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the women in their state and the protection of their reproductive rights and freedoms."
The language and tone she used in her discussion of abortion contrasted starkly with the language and tone she used in her discussion of the SCOTUS decision. She even seemed to express frustration that the Supreme Court affirmed the Second Amendment for the people.
After referencing the massacre in Buffalo, New York, and in Uvalde, Texas, Harris said, "We can go on down the list about why it, yet again, is on the front pages, so to speak, of the concerns of the American people about what we can and what we have a responsibility to do in terms of reasonable gun safety laws."
SCOTUS did not agree that the New York state gun law requiring "proper cause" to be a "reasonable gun safety law."
"We know of no other constitutional right that an individual may exercise only after demonstrating to government officers some special need," Justice Clarence Thomas wrote on behalf of the majority. "That is not how the First Amendment works when it comes to unpopular speech or the free exercise of religion. It is not how the Sixth Amendment works when it comes to a defendant's right to confront the witnesses against him. And it is not how the Second Amendment works when it comes to public carry for self-defense."
Supporters of the 6-3 decision claim it's the most important Second Amendment ruling since the District of Columbia v. Heller court case a decade ago.

QUANTUM INFORMATION WAS TELEPORTED OVER A NETWORK FOR THE FIRST TIME
If you think the internet is weird today, hold onto your hat.
When Heroes (now streaming on Peacock!) hit the airwaves in September of 2006, few characters were as immediately beloved as the appropriately named Hiro Nakamura. Granted the ability to manipulate space-time, Hiro could not only slow down, speed up, and stop time, he could also teleport from one place to another. That’s a useful skill if you need to get to a specific point in time and space to fight an evil brain surgeon or prevent the end of the world. It’s also useful if you want to build the quantum internet.
Researchers at QuTech — a collaboration between Delft University of Technology and the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research — recently took a big step toward making that a reality. For the first time, they succeeded in sending quantum information between non-adjacent qubits on a rudimentary network. Their findings were published in the journal Nature.
While modern computers use bits, zeroes, and ones, to encode information, quantum computers us quantum bits or qubits. A qubit works in much the same way as a bit, except it’s able to hold both a 0 and a 1 at the same time, allowing for faster and more powerful computation. The trouble begins when you want to transmit that information to another location. Quantum computing has a communications problem.
Today, if you want to send information to another computer on a network, that’s largely accomplished using light through fiber optic cables. The information from qubits can be transmitted the same way but only reliably over short distances. Fiber optic networks have a relatively high rate of loss and rely on cloning bits and boosting their signal in order to transmit over significant distances. Qubits, however, can’t be copied or boosted. That means that when and if information is lost, it’s lost for good, and the longer the journey the more likely that is to happen.
That’s where Hiro Nakamura comes in, or at least his quantum counterpart. In order to reliably transmit quantum data, scientists use quantum teleportation, a phenomenon that relies on entanglement or what Einstein called "spooky action at a distance."
As with all things quantum, understanding entanglement isn’t the easiest endeavor but, for our purposes, we’ll simplify. When two particles are entangled, they share a connection, regardless of the physical distance between them. By knowing the state of one entangled particle, you can instantly know the state of the other even if its out of view. It’s sort of like making two people share a single pair of shoes. If you know the first person is in possession of the right shoe, then you know the second person has the left.
Using that spooky connection, scientists can transmit information between the two particles and that information appears at one particle and vanishes at the other instantly. That’s where the analogy to teleportation comes in. First, it’s here, then it’s there, without the need for a journey along cables. Importantly, only information is transferred, not any physical matter. Our teleportation technologies aren’t at BrundleFly levels just yet.
This has some important implications for the future of communication. First, using quantum teleportation networks avoids the threat of packet loss over fiber optic cables. Second, it effectively encrypts the information at Alice’s end. In order to decode the information, you need to know the result of the calculation Charlie performed. The third thing builds upon the first; despite the immediate transfer of quantum information, we are still bound by the speed of light. As you know, the cosmic speed limit isn’t just a suggestion, it’s the law. Sending the calculation information to Alice in order to decode the information relies on more traditional communications bound by light speed. No getting around it.

Harvard announced Friday that Nowak had been placed on paid administrative leave while officials review allegations of misconduct detailed in the report. A message seeking comment was left with Nowak.
“We do not take this step lightly, but the seriousness of the matter leads us to believe it is not appropriate for Professor Nowak to continue in his role,” wrote Claudine Gay, dean of Harvard's Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
Epstein killed himself in his New York City prison cell in August after he was arrested on sex trafficking charges. He had pleaded not guilty to sexually abusing girls as young as 14 and young women in New York and Florida in the early 2000s. In lawsuits, women say the abuse spanned decades.
Among other allegations against Nowak, the report alleged that he allowed his program's website to be used to burnish Epstein's reputation after his 2008 conviction.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused profound social and economic upheaval. COVID-19 vaccines promise to prevent infection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. However, due to their expedited approval, these vaccines need to be vigilantly monitored for their safety. Cases of Bell’s palsy have also been reported after COVID-19 vaccine injection. In two phase III trials of COVID-19 vaccines involving around 38 000 patients, there were seven cases of Bell’s palsy after vaccine compared with one case after receiving placebo.1 2 As the p value was 0.07 and this was a post hoc analysis, no definite association could be inferred.
We recently diagnosed Ramsay Hunt syndrome (RHS) in a 37-year-old previously healthy man. Two days after his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT162b2) vaccine, he noticed fever and a pain in the right ear.
Vesicles were then developed in his right ear and canal, together with vertigo, tinnitus and loss of hearing. He complained of facial palsy, tongue numbness and dysgeusia. On examination, he had grade 4 right facial nerve palsy of the lower motor neuron type with right sensorineural hearing loss (figure 1A). There were no other neurological deficits. Vesicles with serous discharge were found over the right concha and external auditory canal (figure 1B). A swab of the exudate was positive for varicella-zoster DNA on PCR, while throat saliva was negative for SARS-COV-2. A CT scan of the brain was normal. The diagnosis was RHS leading to peripheral facial nerve palsy, vestibulocochlear neuropathy and glossopharyngeal somatic sensory neuropathy. As his symptoms developed 2 days after vaccination, we suspected the vaccination triggered RHS. This would be the first reported case of RHS after COVID-19 vaccination.
Bell’s palsy is the most common cause of an acute onset peripheral facial palsy. Some cases were attributed to the reactivation of herpes-simplex virus (HSV) and varicella-zoster virus (VZV). The former is always underdiagnosed. However, the blisters of herpes zoster (HZ) allow a diagnosis to be made clinically. Reactivation of the VZV at the facial nerve leads to RHS type 2 (herpes-zoster oticus). However, there are also cases where RHS may manifest without the skin lesions such that it cannot be differentiated from Bell’s palsy without PCR or antibody titre testing.3
HZ is associated with COVID-19 vaccination. The US Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) reported 232 HZ-related adverse events among COVID-19 vaccines among 1653 reports of vaccine-related complications since July 1990. All reported cases so far affected other dermatomes.4 VZV-specific CD8 cells may be temporarily incapable of controlling the VZV after the massive shift of naive CD8+ cells to produce vaccine-targeting CD8+ cells.4 The vaccine may also dampen the innate immunity responsible for controlling VZV.5 Therefore, vaccine-related immunomodulation may be responsible for the RHS after vaccination.
RHS is rare for patients under 60 years old with no previous history of HZ. Therefore, COVID-19 vaccination was likely to be the stress causing reactivation of VZV.
What we have described is rare, and may be the missing link between COVID-19 vaccination and Bell’s palsy, providing a plausible explanation for the facial palsy.

Law enforcement authorities from 14 EU Member States took part in this hackathon*, coordinated by the Netherlands. The investigators monitored different online platforms to detect criminal networks attempting to recruit vulnerable Ukrainian refugees.
The online investigations focused on the monitoring of posts offering help to refugees for transportation, accommodation and work. Dating sites and recruitment websites were monitored, as well as platforms offering sexual services. The countries bordering Ukraine focused on recruitment, transportation and accommodation of refugees, while others focused on platforms offering housing and jobs to refugees. During the action day, investigators identified suspicious advertisements targeting Ukrainian refugees, looked into tips received from citizens, reviewed indicators of potential trafficking of human beings for sexual and labour exploitation and updated their situational awareness on existing online platforms linked to trafficking activities.

G7 nations reach deal on Russian oil price cap – Politico

The Group of Seven (G7) leading Western economies reached an agreement on Tuesday to set a price cap on Russian oil exports, Politico reported, citing unnamed officials.
The details of the agreement have not been revealed. However, according to the story, the US suggested lifting sanctions on insurance for ships that transport Russian oil only if countries agreed to buy it at a settled maximum price, thus enforcing a price cap.
G7 member states also rejected the idea of a worldwide price cap on oil prices, proposed by French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday. The proposal was reportedly waived by the US and Germany, and France had agreed to withdraw it.
The agreement comes as Western countries are trying to deal with rising energy prices and inflation as a result of their sanctions and embargoes on Russian oil. While the restrictions are aimed at depleting the “Russian war chest” allegedly used to fund the ongoing military operation in Ukraine, Moscow has been earning more money from its energy exports than prior to the sanctions due to higher prices.
The idea of a price cap was first introduced by US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen earlier this year, and then taken up by the G7, which has reportedly been holding “constructive” talks on the matter over the past three days, at its annual summit in Germany.

As previously reported in an exclusive June 20 report, evidence proves that “plainclothes” members of a special Electronic Surveillance Unit (ESU) were embedded among Jan. 6, 2021, protesters for the purposes of conducting video surveillance. According to experts, one believes the activity itself may have been against the law. The other contends it was done for the purpose of entrapment.
Against the Law?
Speaking as a former prosecutor and three-term District Judge, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) told The Epoch Times, “if you’re going to have electronic surveillance of people there has to be warrants.”
As Gohmert explained, “FISA courts have granted warrants,” with “no particular clarity” and “no probable cause that a crime’s been committed or that this person engaged in a crime.”
Gohmert surmised: “When you see confirmed judges are just willing to completely abrogate the U.S. Constitution because they’re the star chamber of the secret court, and they figure nobody will ever find out what they’re doing, then you know when you see there’s an Electronic Surveillance Unit, well, something’s not right.”
Gohmert’s concerns with the ESU surveillance are two-fold:

“We can’t have secret units doing secret surveillance of people that have committed no crime, no probable cause of a crime. But to deploy Electronic Surveillance Units tells us there’s a lot more here that we need to find out about and obviously it’s not going to be uncovered at least for another six months.”
But Gohmert added that “there is also more information we haven’t gotten and information that continues to leak outdrip by drip.”

Corruption watchdog releases report on lobbying of the Queensland government
A report by Queensland's Crime and Corruption Commission suggests the risk of corruption had "intensified" inside the state government, amid a surge in lobbying.
It found a small number of key groups and individuals appeared to have a "disproportionate amount of access" to the government and could be using those relationships to "influence government decision."
"In some instances, the individuals or groups afforded access have long-standing and close political or personal connections with the decision-makers or government they are seeking to influence," the report, published on Friday, said.
"Further, in some circumstances these individuals have been engaged by a political party or government agency while still involved in influencing practices, such as lobbying."
Meanwhile, the report, Influencing Practices in Queensland, also found there had been "a substantial increase" in lobbying activities in the state.

Judge Gives Go-Ahead to Dominion to Sue FOX, OAN Despite Recent Report that Identifies Massive System Vulnerabilities in Dominion Systems That May Have Been Previously Exploited
On Friday, June 3rd, CISA released its much-anticipated report on Dominion Voting Machines before the weekend news break.
A week earlier, CNN admitted that Dominion Voting Machine Software has flaws that can be exploited.
The individual who was performing the investigation was no fan of President Trump. He released the report from his work and this was covered up immediately by corrupt Obama Judge Amy Totenberg, who we wrote about this morning. Judge Totenberg has withheld this report to this day. This is just another example of judicial overreach and corruption and coverup of the 2020 Election steal.
On Friday the government agency, CISA, released a report that was in response to the issues identified in the Halderman report. We know this because the CISA report says so:
J. Alex Halderman, University of Michigan, and Drew Springall, Auburn University, reported these vulnerabilities to CISA.
The report then lists a number of significant issues with the election system that ran the 2020 Election in Georgia. In the corporate world, a system like this would be thrown out and replaced before ever being put in use, but this is the state government in Georgia and we have seen over the past few years how inept and unprincipled these state governments can be.
The corrupt actors in Georgia, including the Secretary of State and Judge Totenberg, ensured that the Dominion system remains in place with the material issues included in the Halderman report and described in the CISA report.
Here is a list of material weaknesses embedding the Dominion system used in Georgia according to CISA. In its vulnerability review CISA now admits that the Dominion Voting Systems allow for access from almost anyone, allows for malicious software to be loaded on a device, allows for attackers to use a different mode on the system, and print a number of ballots without detection:

Now scientists have published a highly detailed 15-page description of evidence that the shots cause unanticipated, far-reaching disturbances in body chemistry, which they link with the wide range of adverse effects reported. The paper draws on hundreds of studies to argue the case that the unprecedented use of genetic (mRNA) code in the vaccines is producing such a broad range of outcomes as to jeopardise billions of lives.
The lead author of the peer-reviewed article in the June issue of the specialist international journal Food and Chemical Toxicology is Dr Stephanie Seneff, a senior research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and another author is the distinguished American cardiologist Dr Peter McCullough.
First seen online in April, the paper brought angry and abusive accusations of ‘misinformation’ from people who fear failure of the Covid jabs could discredit other, genuinely helpful vaccines – and harm a multi-billion-dollar industry.
The mRNA code in the vaccine tricks the body into producing the toxic ‘spike protein’ of the genetically engineered SARS-CoV-2 virus. Vaccine designers hoped this would prepare the immune system in such a way as to lessen the impact on health when actual infection occurs.
However, because of many alterations made in the vaccine RNA, there are grounds for believing it is more of a risk to health than the virus itself.

While the handgun may have been considering dangerous and unusual during colonial times, the opinion said, in modern times it is "the quintessential self-defense weapon."
The Court's opinion also stated that the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms should not be held to a lower standard than other constitutional rights.
"We know of no other constitutional right that an individual may exercise only after demonstrating to government officers some special need. That is not how the First Amendment works when it comes to unpopular speech or the free exercise of religion. It is not how the Sixth Amendment works when it comes to a defendant’s right to confront the witnesses against him. And it is not how the Second Amendment works when it comes to public carry for self-defense," Thomas wrote.
Justice Stephen Breyer wrote an impassioned dissenting opinion in which he referenced present-day fervor over gun violence, as well as recent events. Joined by Justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, Breyer cited statistics including 45,222 Americans killed by firearms in the U.S. in 2020, the number of mass shootings that have already taken place in 2022, and how gun violence is now the leading cause of death for children and adolescents.
"Many States have tried to address some of the dangers of gun violence just described by passing laws that limit, in various ways, who may purchase, carry, or use firearms of different kinds," Breyer wrote. "The Court today severely burdens States’ efforts to do so."
Justice Samuel Alito, in a concurring opinion, took issue with Breyer's references to recent shootings.
"Does the dissent think that laws like New York’s prevent or deter such atrocities? Will a person bent on carrying out a mass shooting be stopped if he knows that it is illegal to carry a handgun outside the home?" Alito asked. "And how does the dissent account for the fact that one of the mass shootings near the top of its list took place in Buffalo? The New York law at issue in this case obviously did not stop that perpetrator."
Breyer recognized legitimate purposes for guns, such as sport, self-defense, or types of employment like security guards, but he said it is the responsibility of elected officials to balance "these lawful uses against the dangers of firearms" when crafting legislation.
"That consideration counsels modesty and restraint on the part of judges when they interpret and apply the Second Amendment," he said.

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Researchers from Johns Hopkins have solved the decades-old mystery of why a vaccine developed to prevent a common childhood viral infection wound up making kids sick.
The findings provide important clues to how to develop a safe, effective vaccine against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), the main cause of wintertime hospital stays among babies and young children worldwide, Dr. Fernando P. Polack, the lead researcher on the study, told Reuters Health.
“A big concern for the scientists involved in RSV vaccine development is to make sure we do not repeat the same situation again,” said Polack, who is also affiliated with the INFANT Foundation in Buenos Aires.
In the late 1960s, children in Washington, DC received an RSV vaccine in which the virus was inactivated with formalin. Eighty percent of the children given the shot were hospitalized with severe respiratory disease, and two died. Many scientists had thought the formalin was responsible for the vaccine’s problems, but the chemical has been used safely in other vaccines.
For eight years, Polack and his team have been investigating why the vaccine caused the illness, known as enhanced respiratory disease, or ERD. They started by examining tissue from the lungs of the two patients who died, and comparing the effects of the vaccine to RSV itself in mice.
The problem, they report this month in the journal Nature Medicine, was that the children’s antibodies were not binding strongly enough to the inactivated virus to produce a protective immune response.Instead, the antibodies were dragging the dead virus with them, triggering a massive attack by other arms of the immune system.
The inactivated vaccine was only weakly stimulating molecules on the surfaces of cells that are responsible for recognizing infectious invaders and triggering an appropriate immune response, the researchers say. So an effective vaccine would need to do a better job of stimulating these molecules, known as Toll-like receptors, Polack explained.
Most likely, the researcher said, making an effective and safe RSV vaccine will require developing an attenuated form of the virus, meaning a strain that is too weak to cause infection but active enough to stimulate the Toll-like receptors adequately.
Such a vaccine is sorely needed, Polack said. Half of children develop RSV infections before their first birthdays, the researcher noted, while by age 2, 95 percent have been infected. About half the time, the infection only produces a cold, while in the other half of cases the infection enters the lungs and causes infection of the small airways, or bronchiolitis. A child will usually get better on his or her own, but in about one in 100 cases, the child will need to be hospitalized and be given oxygen. RSV kills a half million people worldwide every year.
