So, the girl is "mushroom hunting" at the edge of the woods…sounds a little Hansel & Gretel.
The perp tries to stifle her and police say was going to "beat her"
The hero grabs his slingshot and hits the perp "head & chest" … sounds a little Davie & Goliath.
Now, could all be coinkys, but let's look a little:

The victim was "mushroom hunting" … mushrooms commonly associated with mushroom clouds.
Then we have that "Gary Quintel" post (posted again here for good measure)…which seems odd and contrived.
And who is Gary" – our common 8kun reference to the FBI, right?
And…direct quote from article, "Fight Fight…" reminds of #812 specifically, b/c 812 mentions children and all the characters in the article are children.
