VP Harris Goes Viral Online For Laugh At ‘Awkward’ Moment Recalling Story About Her Mother

Vice President Kamala Harris had several social media users worried about her after a clip of her laughing during an “awkward” moment as she spoke to a room of people.
The moment came when Harris was swearing in commissioners who are now part of the “White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics.” She started talking with an accent when recalling a story involving her mother.
“My mother used to, she would give us a hard time sometimes,” Harris said. “And she would say to us, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with you young people. You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?’”
At that point, Harris started laughing — cackling, some would say — at her retelling of the story and appeared to give the audience an opportunity to join in.
But no one did. A few muffled chuckles can be heard in response, but that was it. However, the bizarre clip led many social media users baffled and openly questioning her mental fitness.
“I’m pretty sure Kamala just fell out of a coconut tree. There’s something seriously wrong with her,” one user wrote on Twitter.

“Kamala didn’t fall out of a coconut tree but she definitely had one dropped on her head,” another wrote.
“Kamala’s coconut tree joke…she was lit up on something,” another user observed.
“Please! That’s her norm! It’s utterly embarrassing. We have a guy that doesn’t know what he’s saying and where he’s walking too and a gal who consistently sounds like a stoner philosophizing,” said another.
“What was she on?” asked another user.
“So she knew early on something wasn’t right with her daughters head,” said another user, referencing Harris’ story about her mother.
It’s not the first time Harris has recalled a cringe story, complete with the cackling laugh, about her mother.
The Republican National Committee’s research division posted a clip where Harris said, “I went home one day and I said, ‘Why are conservatives bad, Mommy?’ because I thought we were supposed to conserve! Ha ha ha! I couldn’t reconcile it. Now I can! Ha ha ha.”

In March, Harris did not have the start to the college basketball championship tournament that she would have wanted, as she got booed when she and the second gentlemen showed up at her alma mater’s March Madness NCAA men’s basketball game. Worse, her school, HBCU Howard University, was bounced by Kansas in a blowout, Newsweek reported.
Afterward, she spoke to the team in the locker room.
“You played hard. You played to the very last second. You made all us Bisons proud,” she said, The Associated Press reported. “You are smart. You are disciplined. You put everything you had into the game. You guys did not stop, and that is so inspiring. So you keep playing with chin up and shoulders back because you showed the world who Bison are.”
Harris graduated from arguably the most prominent historically black college in the nation in 1986.
“So I know you may not be feeling great right now, OK, but know who you are,” she said. “You are excellence. You are hard work. You are powerful, and you are winners.”
As for the boos, The Associated Press speculated that it was because the two states involved are Republican.
“When Harris was shown on the video board during the game, the boos — Kansas and Iowa are Republican-leaning states, after all — outweighed the applause,” the AP noted at the time.
Still, Harris didn’t get a great reception days earlier when she appeared on “The Late Show” with host Stephen Colbert.
She was greeted by protesters shouting “Lock her up!” and chasing her motorcade, a video showed.
