Senator Ron Johnson: ‘We Have Evidence Hunter Biden Paid Sex Trafficked Prostitutes And The Media Isn’t Even Looking Into It’

 

During a Tuesday interview, Senator Ron Johnson asserted that Congressional Republicans have unequivocal proof that Hunter Biden paid tens of thousands of dollars to an international sex trafficking ring for prostitutes with money given to him by his father.

 

“Senator Grassley and I, in our September 2020 report, laid out as much evidence as anybody would need to lay out that the Biden family is corrupt,” Johnson told Fox News, adding that it was well known “that President Biden would be highly compromised, but the corrupt media ignored it and censored it.”

 

Johnson continued, “One thing we don’t talk enough about. I know President Biden is so proud of his son. We have the evidence that Hunter Biden paid for — paid tens of thousands of dollars for prostitutes that were sex trafficked through an international sex trafficking ring. Yes, ick.”

 

“And President Biden during a four or five month period offered to pay for $100,000 of Hunter Biden’s bills when he was spending tens of thousands of dollars on these women who are sex trafficked,” the Senator further asserted.

 

“Now, that is at a minimum morally reprehensible and wrong. And the president is defending that and the media isn’t even looking into it?” an exasperated Johnson urged.

 

“It is grotesque but the media doesn’t concentrate on it. We had that in our report. We had the financial transactions proving it. James Comer does the same thing. But it is so icky and reprehensible that people don’t want to talk about it,” Johnson emphasised.

 

“It is galling to hear the president talk about how proud he is of Hunter. He enables this. He enables it by propping up his son both in term of those types of words as well as financially. It is really pretty sick,” the Senator concluded.

Two Youths Commit Suicide In Taxpayer-Funded Cross-Sex Hormone Study

 

Lawmakers are demanding answers after the suicide deaths of two young people involved in a transgender hormone study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Additionally, 11 participants reported suicidal thoughts during the study, according to a January article by researchers published in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM).

 

In a letter to Dr. Lawrence Tabak, acting director at NIH, 15 Republican lawmakers question why the study wasn’t halted after participants died or reported adverse effects.

 

“It is alarming that vulnerable young people died by suicide while participating in a taxpayer-funded study that will almost certainly inflict devastating physical harm on those who participated,” the lawmakers’ letter stated.

Russian Media Says Ukraine's Counteroffensive Has Begun Amid Conflicting Reports

 

Russian media as well as some Western reports are saying the Ukrainian counteroffensive has begun. This comes the day after Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of Russia’s Wagner Group, blasted regular Russian forces for retreating from parts of the Bakhmut front.

 

Prigozhin also claimed that Russia’s 72nd Separate Motor-rifle Brigade has given up its positions along the town's southwest edge, also while pleading for more ammunition to go to Wagner fighters. Importantly, in a late Thursday report Russian state media is citing a prominent war correspondent to say the much-touted spring offensive has arrived, even though Ukrainian leaders on the same day said it is still stalled and they are "waiting" - also for more weapons from the West.

 

Russia's RT cites the war journalist as follows: "Ukrainian forces have breached Russian defenses northwest of the city of Artyomovsk in Donbass, Russian war correspondent Evgeny Poddubny reported on Thursday evening. He believes it’s the beginning of Kiev’s much-touted spring offensive."

 

"The attackers appear to have launched a series of simultaneous strikes north and south of Artyomovsk, also known as Bakhmut, several other Russian war reporters added," the report continues. "The city has been the scene of intense fighting between Russian and Ukrainian troops for months."

In addition, Kiev’s troops have reportedly used tanks to strike the city of Soledar. Located northeast of Artyomovosk, it was captured by Russian troops after heavy fighting in January.

 

Meanwhile, in Zaporozhye Region, Kiev’s troops have reportedly attacked Russian positions near the city of Guliay-Pole. They are seeking to break through the Russian forces’ first defensive line, Poddubny explained.

 

However, the defense ministry was quick to contradict some of these claims, also downplaying the severity of fighting in these locales:

 

The Kremlin had previously expressed hoped it would have Bakhmut operations complete by Victory Day (May 9), but this proved illusive even after Russian forces captured some 90-95% of the largely destroyed city.

 

Conflicting reports persist, and it does appear some heavy frontline fighting has erupted from the Ukrainian side…

 

On Wednesday Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov struck a rare pessimistic tone in connection with the situation in Donetsk region. "The special military operation continues. It is a very, very difficult operation and of course certain goals have been achieved in a year," he said.

Nina Jankowicz, the Biden administration's short-lived disinfo czar, is suing Fox News for defamation, claiming that the network promoted lies about her that generated 'serious threats to her safety' and harmed her job prospects, according to the NY Times.

According to the lawsuit, Fox mentioned Jankowicz 300 times in eight months, where she claims she was demeaned and defamed in highly personal language by hosts Tucker Carlson, Maria Bartiromo and Sean Hannity - who said her job was to "to silence anyone who criticizes the Biden administration," and possibly "get men with guns to tell you to shut up."

Peace efforts falter amid continued violence between Israel and Palestine – media

 

They traded heavy fire on Thursday as peace talks mediated by Egypt “stalled,” according to media reports

 

Attempts to reach a ceasefire between Israel and the militant groups in the Gaza Strip have so far been unsuccessful, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Thursday, the third day of the continued violent escalation between Israel and Gaza. The worst outbreak of violence in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in months has already led to dozens of Palestinians killed and claimed at least one life in Israel.

 

“Despite our active efforts, these [attempts] have still not … brought about the desired results,” Shoukry said while talking at a joint press conference with other members of the so-called Munich Group, which also includes France, Germany, and Jordan.

 

Earlier, several media outlets reported that the peace talks mediated by Cairo had “stalled” amid the escalating violence. An Israeli source told the Kan broadcaster that Egypt was “doing everything it can to stabilize the situation.”

 

A Palestinian source told the Turkish Anadolu news agency that the Islamic Jihad group – one of the militant factions controlling parts of Gaza – linked a potential ceasefire to what it called Israel’s “assassination policy,” referring to Israeli air strikes on Gaza that have killed at least five senior group members since Tuesday, when the violence broke out. Israel made no commitments on that issue, the Israeli media reported.

 

The Munich Group issued a joint statement on Thursday, expressing its concern over the “deteriorating security situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and Israel.” It also condemned what it called “unacceptable civilian casualties, including women and children,” in the enclave.

 

France, Germany, Egypt and Jordan then urged “an immediate comprehensive ceasefire” to end “Israeli military operations in Gaza and indiscriminate rocket firing against Israel.” The group also said that any “unilateral measures” undermining the viability of the two state solution must cease, without mentioning Israel’s settlement policy in the Occupied West Bank, specifically.

 

The EU issued a separate statement on Thursday, in which it largely supported the Munich Group’s position and urged for a ceasefire as well.

 

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant ordered the military on Thursday to “take all the measures necessary, prepare additional actions, and maintain readiness for the possibility of increased fire,” according to the Israeli media.

 

The third day of escalation saw 29 Palestinians killed in Gaza. Rocket fire from the enclave also killed one person in the Israeli city of Rehovot. Five Israelis were also injured in the rocket attacks across the country.

 

The outbreak of violence was sparked by the death of senior Islamic Jihad member Khader Adnan, who died in Israeli custody earlier this month after an 86-day hunger strike. On Tuesday, the militant group launched a massive rocket barrage at Israel, which responded with air strikes. The Gaza militants have launched a total of 620 rockets at Israel since Wednesday, according to AFP.

 

The outbreak of violence has become the worst since a brief escalation last August that saw 49 Palestinians killed, with no deaths in Israel.

The Justice Department’s proposed anti-discrimination policy would limit the ability of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents and other federal law enforcement officers to infiltrate terrorist groups and deter potential terrorist threats, internal documents show.

 

The documents were provided to the Daily Caller by a source familiar with the proceedings who requested anonymity due to fear of professional retaliation.

 

The DOJ’s new anti-discrimination policy would expand restrictions against the use of protected characteristics in law enforcement activities, even when using protected characteristics to identify a suspect might otherwise be lawful, the documents show.

 

When the new guidelines are finalized, officers would be prohibited from taking into account a person’s “actual or perceived race, ethnicity, gender, nationality, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, sex characteristics, disability status, or gender identity,” the documents show. These restrictions extend to the use of “facially neutral factors as a proxy” for protected characteristics.

Strange sounds recorded high in Earth's atmosphere have scientists baffled

Scientists have detected sounds high in Earth's atmosphere that can't be identified.

 

A solar-powered balloon mission launched by researchers from Sandia National Laboratories carried a microphone to a region of Earth's atmosphere found around 31 miles (50 km) above the planet called the stratosphere. This region is relatively calm and free of storms, turbulence and commercial air traffic, meaning microphones in this layer of the atmosphere can eavesdrop on the sounds of our planet, both natural and human-made.

 

However, the microphone in this particular study also heard strange sounds that repeat a few times per hour. Their source has yet to be identified. The sounds were recorded in the infrasound range, meaning they were at frequencies of 20 hertz (Hz) and lower, well below the range of the human ear. "There are mysterious infrasound signals that occur a few times per hour on some flights, but the source of these is completely unknown," Daniel Bowman of Sandia National Laboratories said in a statement.

 

To gather acoustic data from the stratosphere, Bowman and the team used devices initially designed to monitor volcanoes called microbarometers that are capable of detecting detect low-frequency sounds.

 

Along with the expected natural and man-made sounds, the microbarometers detected the mysterious repeating infrasound signals.

 

The sensors were carried aloft by balloons that Bowman and fellow researchers built. Featuring diameters between 20 and 23 feet (6 and 7 meters), the balloons were built from common and inexpensive materials. Powered by sunlight, these deceptively simple devices were able to climb to altitudes of around 70,000 feet (13.3 miles) over Earth.

 

"Our balloons are basically giant plastic bags with some charcoal dust on the inside to make them dark," Bowman said. "We build them using painter's plastic from the hardware store, shipping tape, and charcoal powder from pyrotechnic supply stores. When the sun shines on the dark balloons, the air inside heats up and becomes buoyant."

 

Bowman explained that this passive solar power is enough to propel the balloons from the surface of the planet to the stratosphere. After launch, the balloons were tracked using GPS, something that the team had to do because balloons can often fly for hundreds of miles and may land in difficult-to-navigate regions of the planet.

 

And, as recent events have shown, scientific balloons can be mistaken for other objects, sometimes causing unintentional alarm.

 

In addition to helping further investigate these mysterious stratospheric sounds, solar-powered balloons like these could be used to investigate mysteries much further from Earth.

 

Such vehicles are currently being tested to discover if they could be partnered with a Venus orbiter to observe seismic and volcanic activity through its thick atmosphere. Robotic balloons could drift through the upper atmosphere of "Earth's evil twin," high above its hellishly hot and high-pressure surface investigating its thick atmosphere and clouds of sulfuric acid.

Deep State can’t cover for scale of Biden corruption

 

If the bombshells unleashed at Wednesday morning’s House Oversight Committee press conference had been about the corruption of a Republican president via millions of dollars in foreign bribes to his family, the clamor for impeachment would have been deafening.

 

But Joe Biden has the protection of the Deep State and unscrupulous Democratic lawyers, so accountability will be slower, though no less certain, if Oversight Chairman James Comer continues his dogged pursuit of the money.

 

Comer (R-Ky.) has delivered an astonishing forensic interim accounting of $10 million in payments from just two of the countries, Romania and China, which enriched the president’s family during his vice presidency and in the weeks afterward.

 

That’s not counting further millions from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Romania, Oman, or earlier China deals and “other foreign business deals the Committee is investigating.”

 

The only business the Bidens were engaged in for all that filthy lucre was selling Joe’s influence to the highest foreign bidder when he was VP, with no regard for national security, and with his knowledge and active involvement, including meeting at least a dozen of son Hunter Biden’s foreign benefactors.

 

“This investigation is about Joe Biden,” Comer said, to state the astonishingly obvious.

 

The Post has been at the forefront of reporting on this corruption scandal for almost three years.

 

Now that Comer has laid out a documented trail of million-dollar bribes paid to the Biden family, it is unsustainable for the president and the White House to continue to stonewall and deny the truth.

I have not had — The only guy who made money from China is this guy [Donald Trump]. He’s the only one. Nobody else has made money from China.”

 

Nobody buys it.

 

Comer has produced the evidence that exposes Biden’s lie.

 

“The bank records refute President Biden’s statement,” says the memo.

 

It then goes on to list the dozens of bank records and companies linked to Biden family members who profited from China for no discernible reason other than their relationship with their powerful patriarch.

 

The memo breaks new ground with subpoenaed bank records showing $3 million transferred from Romanian oligarch Gabriel Popoviciu to Biden family factotum Rob Walker, who, in turn, doled out a little over one-third — $1,038,627.08 to Hunter Biden, Hallie Biden, Jim Biden and another unnamed Biden.

 

The payments went in smaller tranches from November 2015 until May 2017, three months after Joe’s vice presidency ended, just as Hunter’s $83,000 monthly stipend from the corrupt energy company Burisma was slashed in half a few weeks after his father left office in 2017.

 

As the committee points out, the payments were made against the backdrop of Vice President Biden giving sanctimonious anti-corruption lectures in Romania and Ukraine: “Corruption is a cancer,” he would thunder, “a cancer that eats away at a citizen’s faith in democracy.”

No Deal Yet on Extending Ukraine Grain Deal

ISTANBUL/UNITED NATIONS, May 11 (Reuters) – Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the United Nations discussed on Thursday U.N. proposals to extend a deal allowing the safe Black Sea export of Ukraine grain, which Moscow has threatened to quit on May 18 over obstacles to its grain and fertilizer exports.

 

The U.N. and Turkey brokered the Black Sea agreement in July last year to help tackle a global food crisis that has been worsened by Moscow’s war in Ukraine. At the same time, the U.N. agreed to help Moscow facilitate its own agricultural shipments.

 

The meeting of senior officials in Istanbul on Thursday appeared to end without Russian agreement to extend the Black Sea deal. The Kremlin said earlier on Thursday that Russian President Vladimir Putin could speak with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan at short notice if needed regarding an extension of the deal, but there were no such plans at present.

 

“The meeting discussed the recent proposals by the United Nations, namely the resumption of the Togliatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline, the longer extension of the deal, improvements at the Joint Coordination Centre for stable operations and exports, as well as other issues raised by the parties,” the U.N. said.

 

“The parties presented their views and agreed to engage with those elements going forward,” the U.N. said in a statement.

 

RUSSIAN DEMANDS

Turkey’s Defence Ministry said progress was made in the talks on the Black Sea grain deal and that the parties agreed to continue four-way technical meetings on the deal. On Wednesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said he thought the deal could be extended for at least two more months.

 

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov said after the talks on Thursday that the grain deal should be extended for a longer period and expanded. He said the talks would continue online.

 

Russia has issued a list of demands regarding its own agricultural exports that it wants met before it agrees to an extension of the deal. Those include restarting a pipeline that delivers Russian ammonia to a Ukrainian Black Sea port, which the U.N. has been pushing for.

 

While those Russian exports are not subject to Western sanctions imposed following the February 2022 invasion of Ukraine, Moscow says restrictions on payments, logistics and insurance are a barrier to shipments.

 

“Let me be clear, Russia is exporting just fine. It is exporting grain and fertilizer at the same levels, if not higher, than before the full scale invasion (of Ukraine),” U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Linda Thomas-Greenfield told reporters.

 

Another key Russian demand is returning access to the SWIFT payment system for the Russian Agricultural Bank, known as Rosselkhozbank, which was cut off by the European Union in June over Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

 

As an alternative the United Nations proposed other banks could help process payments. Reuters has reported that JPMorgan JPM.N has processed the first payments for the Russian Agricultural Bank and could process dozens more, however Moscow has said this is not a long term fix.

 

‘WEAPONIZING FOOD’

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin, speaking to Russian media in Istanbul, said on Thursday that if Russia’s demands remained unresolved, then the Black Sea deal would “cease its existence.” He specifically cited SWIFT access.

 

Some 30 million metric tonnes of grain and foodstuffs has been exported from Ukraine under the deal, including nearly 600,000 metric tonnes of grain in World Food Programme vessels for aid operations in Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and Yemen, the United Nations has said.

 

Officials from Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the U.N. make up a Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) in Istanbul, which implements the Black Sea export deal. They authorize and inspect ships. No new vessels have been authorized by the JCC since Thursday.

 

In an excerpt of a letter seen by Reuters last month, Russia told its JCC counterparts that it will not approve any new vessels to take part in the Black Sea deal unless the transits will be done by May 18 – “the expected date of … closure.”

 

“This is Russia once again weaponizing food,” Thomas-Greenfield said on Thursday. “They’re holding vulnerable and hungry people in Africa, the Middle East and around the world hostage.”

A powerful eruption on the sun could create widespread auroras tonight

Late Tuesday, the satellite known as the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory, or SOHO, detected a significant coronal mass ejection (CME) which likely was spawned by the double flare outburst that afternoon. The associated subatomic material appears to be headed directly toward Earth and, as a result, the Space Weather Prediction Center at the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a geomagnetic storm watch(opens in new tab) for a possible G3 event today (May 11).

 

Such a geomagnetic storm might allow auroras to be visible as far south as the border of Oregon and northern California, Denver, Colorado and the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

 

For much of this past week, the sun has been behaving in a highly disturbing manner. Since May 5, a sunspot cataloged as AR3296 has been slowly working its way across the disk of the sun and in the process has hurled no fewer than nine magnetically charged "M" class solar flares toward Earth. These flares have caused frequent disruptions or even blackouts in shortwave radio communications throughout the world. Compass needles have danced back and forth, while utility companies have braced for stray surges of current that could even knock out their power lines.

 

But on Tuesday (May 9), within a time span of less than two hours, two significant solar flares erupted from sunspot AR3296. Great streams of subatomic particles shot out from these solar disturbances at terrific speeds of 2.2 million mph (1.3 million km/h). When these particles encounter Earth's magnetic field, some of them may be accelerated and channeled down to areas around the North and South Poles.

To apply for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD)based on your pending asylum application under the (c)(8) category, you may file a Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, 150 days after you file your asylum application.You are not eligible to receive an EAD until your asylum application has been pending for at least another 30 days, for a total of 180 days, commonly referred to as the 180-Day Asylum EAD Clock.

 

Delays that you request or cause while your asylum application is pending with an asylum office or with the Executive Office for Immigration Review do not count toward the 150-day waiting period or the 180-day eligibility period.

 

Delays you may request or cause may include:

 

Asking to transfer a case to a new asylum office or interview location, including when the transfer is based on your change of address;

Asking to reschedule an interview for a later date;

Failing to appear at an interview or biometrics appointment;

Failing to provide a competent interpreter at an interview (if required);

Asking to provide additional evidence at or after an interview;

Submitting large volumes of evidence immediately before an interview that requires a reschedule; or

Failing to receive and acknowledge an asylum decision in person (if required).

If you are required to receive and acknowledge your asylum decision at an asylum office but you fail to appear, your 180-Day Asylum EAD Clock will stop, and you may be ineligible to receive employment authorization. If your case has been referred to an Immigration Court, your 180-Day Asylum EAD Clock will not start again until your first hearing with an immigration judge.

 

If you fail to appear for a scheduled asylum interview without good cause, or fail without good cause to provide a competent interpreter if you are required to do so, we may refer your Form I-589 to an immigration judge, and you will be ineligible for employment authorization based on your pending Form I-589. For additional information about establishing good cause, please review Establishing Good Cause or Exceptional Circumstances .

After facing tremendous hardship to reach the US, often being left with little means to begin their new life, asylum seekers’ first residence in the US is frequently in temporary federal custody. Asylum seekers generally receive limited government support in finding other temporary housing, forcing them to rely on local non-profits and shelters. While some asylum seekers may have family members of support networks elsewhere in the US, they likely lack the means to get there.

 

Many asylum seekers struggle to find employment without work permits and face discrimination in employment and housing. For example, some landlords are hesitant to rent to asylum seekers over concerns about a lack of stable income, which compounds the barriers asylum seekers already face to accessing housing. Language barriers can also make finding housing difficult and is an added challenge for navigating a new city in which public transportation may be insufficient or inconvenient. Lastly, the cities and non-profits working to serve and house these individuals and families already suffer from overloaded capacity, especially homeless shelters, many of which struggle with staffing and bed shortages.

Hunter Biden and his associates received $1 million from a Romanian national, according to Comer.

 

“First instance, while Vice President Biden was lecturing Romania on anti-corruption policies, in reality, he was a walking billboard for his son and family to collect money. Hunter Biden and his associates capitalized on a lucrative financial relationship with a Romanian national who was under investigation for and later convicted of corruption in Romania. The Bidens received over $1 million for the deal,” Comer said at Wednesday’s press conference on the Biden Crime Family.

 

“16 of the 17 payments occurred while Joe Biden was vice president,” Comer added. “In fact, the stop flowing from the Romanian national soon after Joe Biden leaves the vice presidency. This is a pattern of influence peddling.”

According to 2016 and 2017 emails reviewed by Fox News Digital from Hunter’s abandoned laptop, divorce lawyers for Hunter and Buhle were aware of payments from a “Romania deal” and discussed how it should be divided among the two parties.

 

Rebekah Sullivan, who was representing Buhle during the divorce proceedings, appeared frustrated in a Dec. 15, 2016, email to Sarah Mancinelli, Hunter’s lawyer.

 

“On the disclosures, help me understand why it is taking so long to get this basic information. Hunter’s office confirmed to Kathleen a deposit of more than $120,000 into Hunter’s TD account, as funds from the ‘Romania deal,'” Sullivan wrote.

 

“There is no reason to continue to delay providing us the TD account statements and all expenses since the end of the last statement,” Sullivan added. “It is more than fair to ask for Hunter immediately to provide Kathleen with half of the $120,000, and immediate disclosure with respect to his TD account.”

by John Konrad (gCaptain OpEd) With a staggering 15,000+ miles of navigable waterways, it’s critical to note that river barges can carry over ten times the cargo of trucks while producing a mere tenth of the carbon emissions per ton mile. America’s waterways are an untapped goldmine in the fight against climate change. Yet, the Biden Administration has shockingly spent less than 1% of the colossal $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Act on the single most carbon-efficient mode of transportation. This glaring oversight begs the question: is this administration serious about meeting climate goals? Or are there other motivations at play?

 

In a fiery exchange that set Twitter ablaze, garnering over 7.2 million views and catching the eye of Elon Musk, the issue of climate change investment has been thrust into the center of public discourse. In the viral video, Republican Senator John Neely Kennedy locks horns with Biden’s Deputy Secretary of Energy, David Turk, in a high-stakes debate over the staggering sums required to meet 2050 targets. In the end, Turk could not quantify the eventual cost or answer how much spending $50 Trillion to solve the problem would reduce global temperatures. Although the adversaries concur on the need for carbon neutrality, their heated exchange calls into question the United States’ genuine commitment and the full cost of the Biden Administration’s green energy plans.

Scrutinizing the allocation of these trillions of dollars casts doubt on green intentions. While the ostensible progressiveness of electrifying roads and curbing aviation’s carbon footprint might be alluring, it falls woefully short of the transformative potential that investment in the world’s most energy-efficient mode of transportation—our inland and near coastal waterways—could deliver. Climate activists in the Biden Administration claim we have no time to wait yet the United States is frittering any opportunity to leverage its extensive network of rivers, canals, and coastlines, which, if properly harnessed, could propel the nation toward carbon neutrality in a cost-effective and efficient fashion. This leads to the question: is the Biden Administration serious about reducing carbon, or are other factors at play?

 

Could current green energy plans be designed to sink, rather than boost, the economy? Is there a better, science based, alternative that this Administration refuses to explore?

 

In an era where the climate crisis weighs heavily on global consciousness, the United States harbors a golden opportunity within its own borders—its vast network of waterways. River barges and ferries, boasting ten times the capacity of trucks and emitting a mere tenth of carbon emissions per ton-mile, present a formidable solution. These waterways primarily run North/South, parallel to the most congested highways. Yet, America’s unparalleled waterway system languishes, neglected and underfunded. Our barge and ferry fleet grows old and sparse, while our extensive network of rivers, canals, intercostals, sounds, and seas pleads for infrastructure investment. As the Biden administration pursues ambitious 2050 CO2 targets, it’s high time to shift our focus and resources toward waterway transportation – a remarkably efficient and eco-friendly mode of transportation that has long been hiding in plain sight.

 

Spending up to $50 Trillion – or even an additional $1 Trillion – on carbon reduction without including waterways is untenable and unserious.

Waterways Left Behind

 

Spanning over 15,000 miles – with the option to add thousands of additional miles via investment – America’s navigable waterways, encompassing rivers, canals, and coastal routes, hold enormous potential for goods transportation. Nevertheless, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (MARAD) has spent a paltry sum of under $1 billion on waterways under Biden, leaving its potential untapped. Even when money is spent on ports – like the EPA’s $4 Billion Clean Ports Program to electrify drayage – is often spent on port trucks and rail not the most carbon-efficient transportation means itself.

 

Even more shocking than the dearth of federal maritime earmarks is the federal employee count. It is critically important to note that The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and MARAD are sister organizations in the DOT yet the one that administers the least carbon-friendly means of transportation – the FAA – has over 45,000 employees while the one that administers and advocates for the most energy-efficient transportation – MARAD – has only about 800.

 

'Carbon Reduction Or Votes?

 

The disparity in leadership focus is startling as well. Pete Buttigieg frequently shares updates about roadways and aviation, yet often goes weeks without mentioning MARAD. Meanwhile, MARAD’s top official, Commandant Ann Phillips, is virtually a ghost.

 

Science proves that waterway transport is the most carbon efficient but does it pull in voters? With the Biden Administration ignoring waterway development we cannot help but question whether the DOT is genuinely committed to reducing carbon emissions, or if their primary concern lies in addressing transportation issues visible to the voting public. Voters may not often encounter barges, but they certainly spend considerable time in airports and on roads where Buttigieg spends the majority of his time and taxpayer money.

“In these images we can detect even the faintest sources of light, like stars far less massive than the Sun, revealing objects that no one has ever seen before,” says Stefan Meingast, an astronomer at the University of Vienna in Austria and lead author of the new study published today in Astronomy & Astrophysics. “This will allow us to understand the processes that transform gas and dust into stars.”

 

Stars form when clouds of gas and dust collapse under their own gravity, but the details of how this happens are not fully understood. How many stars are born out of a cloud? How massive are they? How many stars will also have planets?

 

To answer these questions, Meingast’s team surveyed five nearby star-forming regions with the VISTA telescope at ESO’s Paranal Observatory in Chile. Using VISTA’s infrared camera VIRCAM, the team captured light coming from deep inside the clouds of dust. “The dust obscures these young stars from our view, making them virtually invisible to our eyes. The survey, called VISIONS, observed star-forming regions in the constellations of Orion, Ophiuchus, Chamaeleon, Corona Australis and Lupus. These regions are less than 1500 light-years away and so large that they span a huge area in the sky. The diameter of VIRCAM’s field of view is as wide as three full Moons, which makes it uniquely suited to map these immensely big regions.

 

The team obtained more than one million images over a period of five years. The individual images were then pieced together into the large mosaics released here, revealing vast cosmic landscapes. These detailed panoramas feature dark patches of dust, glowing clouds, newly-born stars and the distant background stars of the Milky Way.

 

Since the same areas were observed repeatedly, the VISIONS data will also allow astronomers to study how young stars move. “With VISIONS we monitor these baby stars over several years, allowing us to measure their motion and learn how they leave their parent clouds,” explains João Alves, an astronomer at the University of Vienna and Principal Investigator of VISIONS. This is not an easy feat, as the apparent shift of these stars as seen from Earth is as small as the width of a human hair seen from 10 kilometres away. These measurements of stellar motions complement those obtained by the European Space Agency’s Gaia mission at visible wavelengths, where young stars are hidden by thick veils of dust.

Federal Judge Rules 18- to 20-Year-Olds Cannot Be Barred From Buying Handguns

 

A federal judge in Virginia ruled that 18-to-20-year-old residents cannot be barred from purchasing handguns, arguing that such regulations aren’t in accordance with American traditions and history.

 

“Because the statutes and regulations in question are not consistent with our Nation’s history and tradition, they, therefore, cannot stand,” U.S. District Judge Robert E. Payne wrote (pdf), concluding that the laws barring.

 

The ruling came in response to a case brought by 20-year-old Virginian, John Corey Fraser, who tried to purchase a handgun in May 2022 before he was denied the sale due to a federal ban on firearms dealers selling handguns to people under the age of 21. Fraser challenged the 1968 Gun Control Act and a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) rule that makes the stipulation.

 

“If the Court were to exclude 18-to-21-year-olds from the Second Amendment’s protection, it would impose limitations on the Second Amendment that do not exist with other constitutional guarantees,” the judge wrote. “It is firmly established that the First, Fourth, Fifth, Eight, and Fourteenth Amendments vest before the age of 21.”

 

William T. Clark, an attorney with the pro-gun-control Giffords Law Center, told the Washington Post that teenagers aren’t mentally capable of making rational decisions around the purchasing of firearms.

 

“It’s a significant decision—we disagree with the outcome,” Clark said, adding that “there is compelling scientific evidence showing that teenagers are more impulsive and face unique elevated dangers from firearms.”

Russian military clarifies frontline situation in Ukraine

Moscow has denied earlier social media reports of Kiev’s advances

 

The Russian Defense Ministry hasdenied rumors of a large-scale Ukrainian counterattack, noting in a statement late on Thursday that the situation along most of the frontline appeared to be relatively calm, with the only heavy fighting in and near Artyomovsk, also known as Bakhmut.

 

“Reports by certain Telegram channels of‘breaches of defenses’ in several places along the line of contact are not accurate,” the ministry said around 11 pm Moscow time. “The general situation in the area of the special military operation is under control.”

 

According to the Russian military, the last remaining part of Artyomovsk was being stormed with air force and artillery support, while there was an “ongoing battle” to repel the attack of Ukrainian units in the direction of Malo-Ilyinkovka, northwest of the city, with “heavy enemy casualties in lives and equipment.”

 

Eight Ukrainian attacks andthree attempts at reconnaissance in force were repelled on the Donetsk front, the Russian military said. Russian forces continue efforts to take all of Marynka and blockade Avdeevka.

 

Ukrainian troops attemptedtwo company-sized attacks towards Kremennaya but were repulsed. Three scouting parties were defeated further north, near Kupyansk. The ministry first said there had been no “active operations” on Kherson or Zaporozhye fronts in the south, but later published a list of Ukrainian losses on the Kherson front from Russian artillery, and reported shooting down 12 HIMARS rockets and a Su-25 ground attack jet.

 

Earlier in the day, multiple military correspondents had reported that the Ukrainian counter-offensive might have started, with a “breakthrough” near Artyomovsk and several attacks all along the frontline. One reporter cited military sources to claim the Ukrainians had used chemical weapons at a stretch of the Zaporozhye front as well.

 

Kiev has not commented on Thursday’s movements so far. Earlier in the day, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky claimed his military still needed more time to prepare before the long-awaited spring attack.

TheUS is on a worldwide search for Russianswho could be used in a potential swap involving former Marine Paul Whelan and journalist Evan Gershkovich, CNN reported on Thursday citing three sources familiar with the matter. Both Americans are currently held by Moscow on espionage charges.

 

According to the outlet, Washington US is also “exploring narrow sanctions relief” in order to entice Moscow into a prisoner exchange.

 

The White House approached several countries, including those holding alleged “Russian spies” in their custody, in order to determine if they would be willing to participate in the swap, CNN said.

 

Brazil, Norway, Germany, and an unnamed“former Soviet bloc” country were mentioned among the governments contacted by the US regarding a possible trade.

 

Russia’s ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, blasted the US last month for “its policy of hunting Russians around the world.”He cited estimates thatmore than 100 Russians were behind bars in the US, many on spurious charges.

 

However, Washington currentlydoes not have “any high-level Russian spies” or other high-profile inmates in its custody whom Moscow would view as candidates for an exchange, sources told CNN.

 

Gershkovich, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, was detained in March and charged with espionage. Whelan, a former US Marine, was arrested in late 2018, also on espionage charges, convicted in 2020 and sentenced to 16 years in prison. Both men denied any wrongdoing.

 

Despite tensionsover Ukraine, Moscow and Washington have recently conducted several high-profile swaps. Last year, Russia released basketball star Brittney Griner, who was serving a nine-year-sentence after being convicted of smuggling drugs. Just hours after Elon Musk announced he had picked a new female Twitter CEO candidate, the WSJ revealed the identity of the person in talks to become the next CEO of the world's most important social network: it is Linda Yaccarino, who is currently NBCUniversal’s influential head of advertising.

 

Yaccarino, who is chairman of global advertising and partnerships at NBCU, has been with NBCU for more than a decade, where she has been an industry advocate for finding better ways to measure the effectiveness of advertising. As head of NBCU’s advertising sales, she was key in the launch of the company’s ad-supported Peacock streaming service.

 

Elon Musk, Twitter’s owner, said in a tweet Thursday that he had hired a new CEO, but didn’t say who it was. “She will be starting in ~6 weeks!” Mr. Musk said in the tweet.

 

In some ways, Musk's pick of Yaccarino is not a surprise: as Chair of the Advertising Council's Board of Directors and arguably NBCU's top advertising exec, she is meant to fill a critical void at the new Twitter: that of advertising. After all, despite having massive traffic, Musk's social network - which as a reminder cost him $44 billion - has been hemorhaging ad revenue as woke brands have abandoned the website.

 

Of the top 100 advertisers on Twitter before Mr. Musk bought the company, 37 spent nothing on Twitter advertising during the first quarter of this year, according to market-intelligence firm Sensor Tower, while an additional 24 brands reduced their average monthly Twitter ad spending by 80% or more.

 

As such, it will be Yaccarino's job to convince advertisers to return: Yaccarino, who oversees roughly $13 billion in annual ad revenue, is well-known for her tight relationship with marketers and ad agencies. Yaccarino has a reputation for hard-nosed negotiating tactics, and media buyers have described her as the “velvet hammer.”

 

Musk's announcement of the new CEO came days before one of the biggest events of the year for NBCU, the company’s annual pitch event for advertisers, known as the upfront, which is scheduled for Monday in New York. And according to the WSJ, an NBCU spokesman said Ms. Yaccarino is in back-to-back rehearsals for NBCU’s upfront.

 

On the other hand, the hiring of Yaccarino to head the social network which in recent months has become the bane of liberals and progressives through its encouragement of free speech and independent thought, both of which are despised and suppressed by the left, could be a problem.

 

For one, according to her LInkedIn profile, Yaccarino is the "Chairman of the WEF's Taskforce on Future of Work and sits on the WEF's Media, Entertainment and Culture Industry Governors Steering Committee. She is also highly engaged with the Value in Media initiative." Erdogan rival issues warning to Russians

Turkish presidential candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu has accused Moscow ofspreading “conspiracies”

 

Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the head of Türkiye’s main opposition party, has warned Russia against meddling in the country’s affairs just days before presidential and parliamentary elections that will be held on May 14.

 

“Dear Russian friends,” Kilicdaroglu, the leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), wrote on Twitter in Turkish and Russian on Thursday. “You are behind the montages, conspiracies, deep fakes and tapes that were exposed in this country yesterday,” he claimed without elaborating.

 

“If you want our friendship after May 15, get your hands off the Turkish state,” the politician warned, adding that he was “still in favor of cooperation and friendship” with Russia.

 

Kilicdaroglu is currently polling ahead of incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has led the country since 2014 and served as prime minister for 11 years before that.

 

The opposition leader's statement comes after another presidential candidate, Homeland Party head Muharrem Ince, dropped out of the race on Thursday,claiming a “defamation campaign” had been waged against him. (US involvement) According to Turkish media, Ince announced his decision after a video was leaked online allegedly showing him having an extramarital affair and riding in expensive cars.

 

“This is the work of the Gulenist Terror Group,”Ince said, referring to supporters of exiled cleric Fethullah Gulen, who resides in the US.

 

Asked about the upcoming elections in Türkiye last month, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow “never interferes in the domestic affairs” of other countries. Ankara is a buyer of Russian gas and arms, as well as a popular holiday spot among Russian tourists. The two countries enjoy close economic ties and have several joint projects, including in the field of nuclear energy.

Georgia Court of Appeals Returns 2020 Counterfeit Ballot Case Back to Lower Court

 

The Georgia Court of Appeals issued an order remanding the Fulton County counterfeit ballot case back to the Superior Court. The ruling gives citizens, taxpayers, and residents standing to sue the government officials or agencies who violate Georgia law.

 

The far left Atlanta Journal Constitution reported on this development today.

 

The Georgia Court of Appeals on Thursday revived a lawsuit by election skeptics who want to search for fraudulent ballots from the 2020 presidential race two and a half years after it was decided.

 

The appellate court sent the case back to a judge to decide whether to allow an outside review of Fulton County’s 147,000 original absentee ballots…

 

…The lead plaintiff in the case, Garland Favorito of the group VoterGA, said he hopes to finally be able to find suspicious-looking ballots — with perfectly filled-in ovals and a lack of fold marks — that Republican vote-counters said they saw during a statewide audit.

The Georgia Court of Appeals has issued an order remanding the Fulton County counterfeit ballot case back to the Superior Court for all Fulton County petitioners. The order comes over four months after the Georgia Supreme Court upheld standing in its December 20, 2022 ruling for the Favorito et al v. Wan et al and Jeffords et al v. Fulton County cases. That decision was based on the court’s previous ruling that unanimously found Georgia citizens, taxpayers and residents, including voters, always had standing to sue government officials or agencies who violate Georgia law.

 

The Court of Appeals decision to remand the cases applies only to petitioners who are resident in Fulton County. Petitioners Favorito, Terris and Peck will continue on their case while Caroline Jeffords will continue as the lone petitioner in her case. The remaining five Georgia petitioners could appeal their ruling to the Georgia Supreme Court if they choose, given that they were impacted by a statewide race. It seems unlikely that would happen though.

J.D. VANCE: ‘We cannot, as a country, absorb 10 million people and still provide high quality housing to the rest of our citizens’

 

Republican Ohio Senator J.D. Vance spoke about the negative effect that unfettered illegal immigration is having on the American housing market, during a recent hearing.

 

Vance explained that although we have millions of new arrivals in the United States looking for housing, the amount of housing has not increased nearly enough, making the market unstable and much more competitive.

 

As Vance put it, the math just doesn’t add up.

“We cannot, as a country, absorb 10 million people and still provide high quality housing to the rest of our citizens. The math doesn’t work. The numbers don’t make sense. The increase in housing prices and rents is clear for all to see.”

 

Vance is absolutely right about this. Anyone who has looked for a new house or apartment in recent months knows it’s true.

 

The bad news is that this problem is only going to get worse.

 

To make matters worse, the leftist Democrats are constantly creating new barriers to new housing construction based on their green agenda.

 

More Republicans need to start talking about this issue.

St.Cyril Monastary In Kiev Is An Important Spiritual Battleground

The fight over St.Cyril Monastery ties into my previous post of The Enlightenment/Marxist/Globalist Satanists inspired by Milton's "Paradise Lost" & their war against the Eastern Christian Orthodox Church & all Orthodox religion.

If anyone remembers, Sec of State Mike Pompeo visited St.Cyril Monastary/Lavra & all Orthodox Churches. It wasn't for shits and giggles. It was alliance building. I'd guess the monastery was targeted for destruction and so were many others. They must be protected.

If the Globalists infiltrated religious institutions , then they most likely infiltrated St.Cyril Monastery. There is vast wealth, art, and artifacts in the Orthodox Church, and a twist.

In 1883, one of Russia's greatest artists, Mikhail Vrubel, single handedly painted 150 murals & icons in a restoration of St.Cyril & painted the dome inside St.Sophia cathedral.

But Mikhail Vrubel is more well known for his paintings depicting Satan from the poem "Demon", by Russian poet Mikhail Lermontov. Lermontov drew his inspiration from, you guessed it, Milton's "Paradise Lost".

Vrubel was so obsessed with "Demon" that some say it drove him insane. The artwork that remains is only a portion of his collection, most of which he destroyed. Lermontov's poem, "Demon", & Vrubel's paintings such as "Demon Seated" & "Demon Downcast", are iconic for the Bolsheviks and Soviet Marxists.
