The person accused of sealing the phone of Chris Elston, also known as Billboard Chris, has been identified as Chrissa Mae Kalal.

The person accused of sealing the phone of Chris Elston, also known as Billboard Chris, has been identified as Chrissa Mae Kalal, a transgender adjunct professor at Portland State University’s geology department.

Kalal attempted to snatch Elston’s phone during a stop earlier this month at the campus, where Elston stood wearing a sign saying "children cannot consent to puberty blockers" and was harassed and attacked by students.

Kalal appeared to grab the phone from Elston’s grip, and began to ride off him Kalal’s bike before being stopped by Elston grabbing onto Kalal’s backpack. The phone was retrieved by a member of Elston’s team from the ground nearby and returned to him.

A representative for Portland State University told The Post Millennial that Kalal has been an adjunct professor in Geography since 2021, and most recently taught during the winter term. Kalal is not teaching or performing research this term.

Earlier in the day, Kalal was seen attempting to interrupt interviews with students, pushing a bicycle in between the interviewer and the woman being interviewed.

The FBI did not comply with the House Oversight Committee’s subpoena compelling the production of an FBI document that a whistleblower alleged describes as a criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national and relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., subpoenaed the FBI for the document, which is an FBI-generated FD-1023 form after a whistleblower alleged that the FBI and Justice Department were in possession of it and claimed it detailed an "alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions."

Congress has only one move left.

Shut it all down.

Production of real meat has a huge carbon footprint because it requires water, feed and the clearing of trees to make way for cattle.

Despite this, experts say the carbon footprint of lab-grown meat could be 'orders of magnitude higher' once the industry grows.

Although lab-grown meat is yet to hit the shops, British scientists are among those growing meat products in a lab with a view to commercialise them.

Rochelle Walensky, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who guided President Joe Biden’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic from his first day in office, is leaving her post, the White House announced Friday.

Her announcement comes days before the Biden administration plans to end the public health emergency in place since early 2020, and at a time when Covid fears have receded and life mostly returned to a pre-pandemic normal.

But the path there was far rockier than anticipated when Biden took office. Deaths from the disease remained at high levels as the Omicron variant took hold in the fall of 2021, and as many Americans refused vaccination.

Last summer, Walensky launched a reorganization of the CDC, acknowledging that its “performance did not reliably meet expectations” during the pandemic.

She said she wanted to modernize the agency and rehabilitate its reputation.

In a statement, Biden said, “Walensky leaves CDC a stronger institution, better positioned to confront health threats and protect Americans.”

In an internal email announcing her departure, Walensky wrote that she would step down on June 30.

She gave no specific reason for the decision to resign, writing that “at this pivotal moment for our nation and public health, having worked together to accomplish so much over the last two-plus years, it is with mixed emotions that I will step down.”

Walensky touted the administration’s Covid response, the CDC’s decision to declare racism a serious public health threat and its efforts to contain mpox among the accomplishments on her watch.

“I have never been prouder of anything I have done in my professional career,” she wrote.

The months-long surge of illegal immigrants on America's southern border has gone beyond crisis mode, and Catholic Charities has been at the center of it.

Church Militant's Kristine Christlieb briefs us on how the Catholic nonprofit may be profiting illegally from the migration catastrophe.

As Church Militant and the Lepanto Institute have been reporting for years, illegal immigration is a cash cow for nonprofit giant Catholic Charities.

Four Republican members of Congress plus the state of Texas are hot on the charity's trail, both claiming some of its immigration activities may be illegal.

Wednesday, in a letter addressed to the organization's Virginia headquarters, Congressmen Lance Gooden and Jake Ellzey of Texas, Andy Biggs of Arizona and Tom Tiffany of Wisconsin ordered the charity to "preserve all information related to any expenditures submitted for reimbursement from the federal government related to migrants encountered at the southern border."

The Congressmen promise an investigation, saying, "Catholic Charities is violating federal law and regulations, placing migrants and American communities at risk, and subjecting local communities to unreasonable burdens."

Also on Wednesday, speaking on behalf of the people of Texas, Catholic Gov. Greg Abbott officially unleashed his crack attorney general, Ken Paxton, on the border problem, telling him "to initiate an investigation into the role of NGOs [nongovernmental organizations] in planning and facilitating the illegal transportation of illegal immigrants across our borders."

Earlier this month, the Heritage Foundation released findings from its investigation of the border crisis.

Specifically naming Catholic Charities, the report "confirmed that a host of NGOs are actively facilitating the Biden border crisis."

Finally feeling the heat, Catholic Charities, which failed to respond to a February inquiry from the Congressmen, is denying any wrongdoing, calling the accusations "factually inaccurate."

Once motivated by the love of Christ to help others, Catholic Charities has lost its way and has become an enemy of the people — even the people it claims to be trying to save.

Next to the federal government, Catholic Charities is the nation's largest social safety-net provider.

Congress has the power to apply financial pressure to agencies or use litigation to enforce orders. “It’s clear from the FBI’s response that the unclassified record the Oversight Committee subpoenaed exists, but they are refusing to provide it to the Committee,” Comer said.

Major Moscow Summit Moves Syria-Turkey 'Normalization' Forward

Tuesday witnessed a big step closer to Syria-Turkey normalization, following 12 years of a de facto state of war between the countries, given Turkish forces have long occupied strips of territory near the northern Syria border and previously supported a "jihadist highway" into the country in past efforts to overthrow President Assad.

Russia has proposed a normalization process in a four-way meeting held in Moscow between between the foreign ministers of Russia, Syria, Turkey, and Iran. At the meeting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov launched a clear "roadmap" for Turkish-Syrian normalization which could later be signed by the heads of state.

"The launch of the Turkish-Syrian normalization process, with the participation of the three guarantor countries, has proven the effectiveness of the Astana formula, which will have a noticeable positive impact, not only on the situation in Syria but also on the general climate in the region as a whole," Lavrov said.

Damascus has welcomed the initiative as a way to ensure Syrian sovereignty, with the long-term interests of both Ankara and Damascus being to force the American occupation out of northeast Syria.

Going into the Moscow meeting, Syrian state SANA previewed that the summit of foreign ministers would focus on "ending the illegal Turkish presence on Syrian territory, non-interference in the Syrian internal affairs, and combating terrorism in all its forms."

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad stressed his country will "continue to work, demand and insist on the issue of Turkish withdrawal," and “stress the need to fight all terrorist organizations on Syrian soil."

Turkish incursions into Syrian territory have come in waves in recent years. Erdogan has ordered a campaign against Syrian Kurdish forces, which Turkey sees as an extension of the outlawed PKK. All the while, US special forces have been embedded among the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, which Erdogan has also condemned, fraying US-Turkey relations.

Also over the past year there have been quiet negotiations between Syrian Kurdish factions and the Assad government. The Kurds have long wanted some level of autonomy, but also need the protection of a strong state against Turkish aggression. Russia also hopes a pragmatic arrangement will ultimately pressure the Americans to abandon the region, which also happens to be Syria's oil and gas rich part of the country.

The Biden administration has brought back a Trump-era immigration rule the day before Title 42 is scheduled to sunset and encourage a wave of illegal immigration into the U.S.

The rule, finalized and published in the Federal Register on Wednesday, disqualifies migrants from applying for asylum in the U.S. if they neglected to first apply for asylum in other countries they traveled through, such as Mexico. Hundreds of asylum officers were trained in how to enforce the rule on Tuesday ahead of Title 42’s expiration, according to CBS News.

The new rule, a reversal of President Joe Biden’s campaign promises, comes as the administration has failed for more than two years to control historic levels of illegal immigration into the U.S. The ongoing crisis at the southern border is widely expected to worsen later this week when Title 42, a health order authorizing border officials to immediately expel migrants without processing, is repealed at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday.

SpaceX To Launch Vast's Commercial Space Station and First Human Spaceflight Mission

Vast announced today that SpaceX will launch what is expected to be the world’s first commercial space station, known as Vast Haven-1, quickly followed by two human spaceflight missions to said space station. Scheduled to launch on a Falcon 9 rocket to low-Earth orbit no earlier than August 2025. Haven-1 will be a fully-functional independent space station and eventually be connected as a module to a larger Vast space station currently in development.

Upon launch of Haven-1, Falcon 9 will launch Vast’s first human spaceflight mission to the commercial space station, Vast-1. Dragon and its four-person crew will dock with Haven-1 for up to 30 days while orbiting Earth. Vast also secured an option for an additional human spaceflight mission to the station aboard a Dragon spacecraft.

The Vast-1 crew selection process is underway and the crew will be announced at a future date. Once finalized, SpaceX will provide crew training on Falcon 9 and the Dragon spacecraft, emergency preparedness, spacesuit and spacecraft ingress and egress exercises, as well as partial and full mission simulations including docking and undocking for return to Earth.

Vast’s long-term goal is to develop a 100-meter-long multi-module spinning artificial gravity space station launched by SpaceX’s Starship transportation system. In support of this, Vast will explore conducting the world’s first spinning artificial gravity experiment on a commercial space station with Haven-1.

This new partnership between Vast and SpaceX will continue to create and accelerate greater accessibility to space and more opportunities for exploration on the road to making humanity multiplanetary.

WASHINGTON – Today, after receiving and considering over 50,000 public comments in response to a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking issued earlier this year, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) finalized a new rule to further incentivize individuals to use lawful, safe, and orderly pathways to enter the United States. The rule builds upon efforts to combine lawful pathways with consequences for failure to use them, by placing certain limiting conditions on asylum eligibility for those who fail to use those pathways. This rule goes into effect once the Title 42 public health Order terminates, on Thursday at 11:59pm ET.

“This Administration has led the largest expansion of legal pathways for protection in decades, and this regulation will encourage migrants to seek access to those pathways instead of arriving unlawfully in the grip of smugglers at the southern border,” said Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. The rule presumes those who do not use lawful pathways to enter the United States are ineligible for asylum and allows the United States to remove individuals who do not establish a reasonable fear of persecution or torture in the country of removal. Noncitizens can rebut this presumption based only on exceptionally compelling circumstances.

The presumption will not apply to a noncitizen if they, or a family member traveling with them, received appropriate authorization to travel to the United States to seek parole; presented at a port of entry, pursuant to a pre-scheduled time and place using the CBP One app; established that it was not possible to access or use the CBP One app due to specific and extenuating circumstances, significant technical failure, or other applicable exception; or sought and were denied asylum or other protection in at least one other country. Individuals may also rebut the presumption by demonstrating exceptionally compelling circumstances. Unaccompanied children are exempted from this presumption.

Last week, the Government of Mexico announced that they will continue to accept returns, on humanitarian grounds, of migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela who are processed under Title 8 authorities at the U.S. border. Individuals removed under Title 8 are subject to a five-year bar on admission and potential criminal prosecution should they seek to reenter unlawfully.
