You know what is sickening about watching this?

 

At any time the coward republicans could have defunded Marorkas’ salary at DHS or cut the funds at the agency all the way back May or June under McCarthy, but he wouldn’t allow it, and when Johnson gets in he caves asap and does a CR instead of taking budgets out of it, he did a clean CR until Feb.

 

This whole dog and pony show is old and tiresome. Republican leaders and RINOS are cowards, and MTG is the show boat they wheel out to give Americans hope something will happen. All because they are afraid of causing a Shut down.

 

Republicans are Stockholm syndrome victims, they’ve lost any intelligence to help Americans and in fighting for us.

Mostly because R is an overly complex language that doesn't have a large following.

This was started at Mozilla after they ousted their founder who went on to found Brave. The problem with garbage languages like this, and I do use the term garbage strongly, is that they are always raising the bar for programmers. Rust, C++, Java and the like are all absurdly complex and continually changing programming languages that make it difficult to hire really good programmers, especially when the colleges are programming people to become activists instead. Forty years ago they published source code in magazines and middle school kids could follow and program their own stuff in it. These days I have to interview a couple dozen shit programmers before I can find one who even understands basic algorithms.

At least 50 protesters were arrested on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and 15 vehicles were towed after demonstrators blocked all lanes on the upper deck, with some drivers tossing their keys into the bay, said California Highway Patrol division chief Ezery Beauchamp.

 

Traffic was snarled for hours after more than 200 demonstrators demanded that Biden, in San Francisco for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leaders’ conference, call for an immediate cease-fire in the war between Israel and Hamas.

 

In Boston, about 100 protesters stopped traffic on the bridge connecting the city to Cambridge for more than two hours during the morning rush. They chanted “cease-fire now!” and held a banner with the words “Jews say: ceasefire now” and they called on one of Massachusetts’ two senators, Democrat Elizabeth Warren, to do more to halt the hostilities.

Rep. Jordan Subpoenas Bank of America Over Allegedly Sharing Jan. 6 Info With FBI

The bank has been accused of giving the FBI access to Jan. 6 bank records without customers’ knowledge.

 

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has subpoenaed Bank of America (BoA) for information over the company's alleged sharing with the FBI of private customer data from around the time of the Jan. 6, 2021, events in Washington.

 

The subpoena is part of the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government's probe "into major banks sharing Americans' private financial data with the [FBI] without legal process for transactions made in the Washington, DC, area around Jan. 6, 2021"—the day that supporters of President Donald Trump breached the U.S. Capitol as Congress was certifying the 2020 election, which the former president has called rigged and stolen. Politico first reported the Nov. 16 development.

The committee subpoenaed relevant documents from the bank, including internal communications about the decision to transfer the information to the FBI, any communications that the bank had with the agency, and any other information. The lawmakers gave Bank of America a June 8 deadline to comply.

 

In a 78-page whistleblower report released by the House Judiciary Committee on May 19, whistleblowers allege that in the aftermath of the riot, Bank of America gave the FBI information about customers who made transactions in the Washington area on or near Jan. 6, 2021.

Those who had used Bank of America accounts to purchase a firearm, regardless of when or where the transaction took place, were bumped to the top of that list.

 

George Hill, a retired FBI supervisory intelligence analyst, told the panel: "The Bank of America, with no directive from the FBI, data-mined its customer base. And they data-mined a date range of [Jan. 5, 2021, to Jan. 7, 2021] any BoA customer who used a BoA product [meaning a Bank of America credit or debit card].

 

"They compiled that list. And then, on top of that list, they put anyone who had purchased a firearm during any date. So it was a huge list."

 

No further action was taken with the information, according to testimony from the special agent in charge of the Boston field office, which received the information.

 

Bank of America told the Judiciary Committee that its conduct was "within a legal process initiated by the United States Department of the Treasury."

 

However, in a Nov. 16 letter to Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan, informing him of the subpoena, Mr. Jordan, who also chairs the Weaponization Select Subcommittee, wrote that, "it is unclear what 'legal' process permits the FBI or BoA to share the sensitive customer information of potentially thousands of BoA customers and implicate them in a federal law enforcement investigation without any clear criminal nexus."

After all, the Ohio congressman wrote, "If such a lawful authority exists, as BoA asserts, for BoA to freely share private financial information without any legal process or specific nexus to criminality, Congress has a responsibility to consider reforms that adequately protect Americans’ information."

 

Mr. Jordan went on to say that "it should not be the case that federal law enforcement has carte blanche access to Americans’ financial information by deeming a transaction or class of transactions as 'suspicious' or otherwise."

 

The bank told The Epoch Times in an email: "We followed all applicable laws in our interactions with the Trump Administration's Treasury Department and law enforcement. These interactions began when the Trump Administration's Treasury Department urgently gathered major banks and law enforcement on Jan. 15, 2021, and shared information regarding potential criminal activity that could disrupt the upcoming inauguration. We have cooperated with the committee as they evaluate whether the laws we complied with should be changed."

 

In a May 25 letter to Mr. Moynihan, Mr. Jordan and Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust Chairman Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) expressed concern over the allegations, which they called "alarming."

Aside from other privacy concerns, the Republican lawmakers wrote, "This information undoubtedly included private details about BoA customers who had nothing at all to do with the events of January 6. Even worse, BoA specifically provided information about Americans who exercised their Second Amendment right to purchase a firearm."

KENTUCKY: "A federal judge declared a mistrial on Thursday afternoon after a jury deadlocked on civil rights charges against a former Louisville police officer who fired stray bullets in the raid that left Breonna Taylor dead. Brett Hankison was charged with using excessive force that violated the rights of Breonna Taylor, her boyfriend and her nextdoor neighbors. Hankison fired 10 shots into Taylor’s window and a glass door after officers came under fire during the flawed drug warrant search on 13 March 2020. Some of his shots flew into a neighboring apartment, but none of them struck anyone.

The judge reported that there were “elevated voices” coming from the jury room at times during deliberations this week, and court security officials had to visit the room. Jurors told the judge on Thursday they were deadlocked on both counts against Hankison, and could not come to a decision.

The mistrial could result in a retrial of Hankison, but that would be determined by federal prosecutors at a later date.

Hankison, 47, was acquitted by a Kentucky jury last year on wanton endangerment charges. State prosecutors had alleged he illegally put Taylor’s neighbors in danger. Months after his acquittal last year, the US Department of Justice brought the new charges against Hankison, along with a group of other officers involved in crafting the warrant.

Money Market Fund Inflows Continue As Fed's Bank Bailout Fund Hits Another New High

Money-market funds saw inflows for the 4th straight week (since the biggest outflow since Lehman), adding $21.9BN to reach a new record high of $5.73TN… In a breakdown for the week to Nov. 15, government funds -which invest primarily in securities like Treasury bills, repurchase agreements and agency debt - saw assets rise to $4.68 trillion, an $18.9 billion increase.

Prime funds, which tend to invest in higher-risk assets such as commercial paper, meanwhile, saw assets climb to $932 billion, a $5.6 billion increase.

Flows into Retail funds continued their seven month streak and institutional funds saw inflows also. The resurgence in money-market fund inflows is diverging from bank deposits (which are gently rising on a seasonally-adjusted basis) Meanwhile, as we detailed earlier, the amount of money that investors are parking at The Fed's reverse repo facility has accelerated below $1 trillion to its lowest since July 2021(showed the NY FED actual chart last week but here it is again in cap 3)

Around 219,000 counterfeit goods seized in largest knockoff bust in U.S. history

Around 219,000 pieces of counterfeit clothing, shoes, bags and other luxury products were taken from a Manhattan storage facility in the largest counterfeit goods seizure in U.S. history.

 

If the goods had been real, their retail price would have been around $1.03 billion, setting the seizure record. Knock-off goods invariably fetch much less than that on the street, while still turning a handsome profit for the fraudsters.

 

In its announcement of the bust Wednesday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York accused two men of operating a fake goods operation out of the raided storage facility.

 

Adama Sow, 38, and Abdulai Jalloh, alias Troy Banks, 48, have been arrested and indicted on one charge each of trafficking in counterfeit goods.

 

The USAO-SDNY also alleges that Mr. Jalloh used an additional offsite location for the purported counterfeit goods scheme, which they say ran from about January through Oct. 20.

 

If Mr. Sow and Mr. Jalloh are convicted, each faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

 

“We will not allow opportunists to convert public warehouses into their own illegal shopping centers, or to wreak havoc on the streets of New York City, nor will we relent in our efforts to combat transnational criminal organizations smuggling these items through our borders,” Homeland Security Investigations New York Special Agent-in-Charge Ivan Arvelo said in a statement, according to the New York Post.

Disneyland is dealing with another tragedy … a park guest jumped from a parking structure in what appears to be part of a recent and alarming trend.

 

Police in Anaheim say a 24-year-old man jumped to his death from the Pixar Pals parking structure Wednesday night at Disneyland resort.

 

It's the third time in less than a year someone has killed themselves by jumping from one of the parking structures within the amusement park.

 

Cops say they responded to a call around 9:30 PM of someone jumping from the Pixar Pals parking garage. They says the victim, later identified as Jonah Alexander Edwards, was pronounced dead at the scene.Anaheim Police say they are investigating the death as a suicide.

 

Overall, there have been 6 suicides at the park's parking garage complex since 2010, and since December 2022 there have been 3 such incidents – so, it's a disturbing increase.

 

The Disneyland parking garages, Pixar Pals and Mickey & Friends, are six-level structures … and it's where thousands of guests enter and exit the theme park.
