Thiel, Bezos, & Zuckerberg Dump Shares Amid Surging Insider Ratio: An Ominous Sign For Bull Market

 

A number of structural themes have been driving US asset markets higher, including artificial intelligence, GLP-1, cloud, and biotech, as well as the prospect of a pivot in the Federal Reserve's interest rate hiking cycle if inflation does not reignite. Some Wall Street strategists, like BofA's Savita Subramanian, have hiked their year-end S&P price targets. However, her colleague, Michael Hartnett, has been countering the bull narrative that "it's only a small bubble, plus this time is different" in various notes (read: here, here, here, and here).

 

Given that some Wall Street strategists are split on the question, "1995 or 1999?" - one sell-side indicator has piqued our attention and could be an ominous sign that insiders see trouble ahead in the bull market.

 

According to Verity LLC, which tracks insider trades, the ratio of corporate insider selling to insider buying has surged to the highest level since the first quarter of 2021.

 

Peter Thiel, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg are some of the top corporate insiders dumping shares this quarter. They have sold hundreds of millions of dollars in shares as the AI bubble and Fed pivot narratives propelled the Nasdaq to new record highs.

 

The surge in insider selling is an ominous sign the bull market could be nearing a resistance level, Charles Elson, a legal veteran and chair of corporate governance at the University of Delaware, told the Financial Times.

 

"If they think that we're at the top and so they're getting out, that's a rather stark signal to everyone else," Elson said.

 

Ben Silverman, Verity's vice president of research, warned:

 

"We do view [corporate insider share sales] as a negative data point that investors should be aware of."

 

Silverman noted that the selling appears to be concentrated in the technology sector specifically, "We are also seeing a number of the big [company] names in this space with insider selling that is not typical."

 

"Clearly there's an appetite for liquidity generation right now," he said, adding, "Some of that is some pent-up demand following relatively quiet insider selling in 2022 and 2023, and certainly one impetus is [stock] market performance."

US still operating biolabs in Ukraine – Russian envoy

 

Washington is trying to hide its own activities by blocking Moscow’s push for tougher controls, a diplomat claims

 

The US continues to operate 30 biolabs on the territory of Ukraine as part of an illegal military-biological program, Russia’s envoy to the Netherlands has claimed.

 

The number of American laboratories on Ukrainian territory has been “well-known for a long time,” Vladimir Tarabrin, who is also Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), said in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper on Sunday.

 

The diplomat recalled that the head of Russia’s Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Protection Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, had claimed in March 2022 that 30 such biolabs existed.

 

“Our armed forces discovered documents confirming the extensive military biological program deployed by the US and NATO countries on the territory of Ukraine and other former Soviet republics,” he said.

 

The Kiev government allegedly began destroying dangerous pathogens in the laboratories and suspending research on February 24, 2022, the day Russia launched its military operation against Ukraine, but “in 2023 the implementation of those programs resumed, only their name was changed,” Tarabrin claimed.

 

Asked if the number of the US biolabs in Ukraine still stands at 30, the ambassador said: “According to our data, yes.”

 

“It’s not surprising, therefore, that over the past 20 years, Washington has been blocking all Russian initiatives aimed at strengthening the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) regime and creating an effective mechanism for verifying compliance with its provisions by all participating countries,” Tarabrin said.

 

Over the past two years Moscow has repeatedly raised concerns over an alleged network of secretive US-funded laboratories in Ukraine, publishing troves of documents captured from Kiev authorities, which it claims are linked to the operations of those facilities.

 

Last April, Kirillov said Russia had “no doubt that the US, under the guise of ensuring global biosecurity, conducted dual-use research, including the creation of biological weapons components, in close proximity to Russian borders.”

 

The US government has confirmed the existence of the biolabs in Ukraine, but insisted that they are entirely legal and not intended for military purposes, despite mostly being funded via the Pentagon. Washington has denied Moscow’s claims of the labs being used to work on bio-weapons as a “Russian disinformation campaign.”

 

Kirillov also said a year ago that the US biolab program in Ukraine, which was previously known as ‘Joint biological research’, was rebranded as ‘Biological control research’ so that it could continue its operations.

Boeing Leadership Shakeup: CEO Dave Calhoun and Top Executives Resign Amid Ongoing Safety Scandal

 

Boeing has announced that three of its top executives, including CEO Dave Calhoun, are stepping down amidst continued turmoil over the safety of its passenger jets.

 

The aerospace giant, which has been at the center of an escalating scandal since a serious incident involving a Boeing 737 Max plane, made the announcement on Monday.

 

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that Alaska flight 1282, a Boeing 737-9 MAX bound for Ontario, California, departed Portland, Oregon, just after 5 pm Pacific time earlier this year when a deactivated emergency door used as a regular cabin window blew out at 16,000 feet. Six crew members and 171 passengers were aboard the jet.

 

Dave Calhoun, who has served as President and CEO, will be stepping down at the end of 2024 but will remain at the helm through the year.

 

“As you all know, the Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 accident was a watershed moment for Boeing,” Calhoun wrote to employees on Monday, per CNBC.

 

“We must continue to respond to this accident with humility and complete transparency. We also must inculcate a total commitment to safety and quality at every level of our company.

 

“The eyes of the world are on us, and I know we will come through this moment a better company, building on all the learnings we accumulated as we worked together to rebuild Boeing over the last number of years,” he wrote.

 

Alongside him, Stan Deal, the CEO and president of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, and Chairman Larry Kellner, who has opted not to seek reelection at the next shareholders’ meeting, are also departing.

 

CNBC reported:

 

Chairman of the board Larry Kellner is also resigning and will leave the board at Boeing’s annual meeting in May. He has been replaced as chair by Steve Mollenkopf, who has been a Boeing director since 2020.

 

And Stan Deal, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, is leaving the company effective immediately. Moving into his job is Stephanie Pope, who recently became Boeing’s Chief Operating Officer after previously running Boeing Global Services.

 

The departures come as airlines and regulators have been increasing calls for major changes at the company after a host of quality and manufacturing flaws on Boeing planes. Scrutiny intensified after a Jan. 5 accident, when a door plug blew out of a nearly new Boeing 737 Max 9, minutes into an Alaska Airlines flight.

 

Last week, airline CEOs started scheduling meetings with Boeing directors to voice their displeasure at the lack of manufacturing quality controls and lower than expected production of 737 Max planes. The meetings were to include Kellner and one or more other board members.

 

Calhoun for months has promised investors, airline customers and the general public that Boeing will get its myriad quality struggles under control.

Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection? I never noticed this….

 

The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes. The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, and was placed separate from the grave clothes. Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, 'They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put him!' Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see.. The other disciple outran Peter and got there first. He stooped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn't go in.

 

Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying to the side.

 

Was that important? Absolutely!

 

Is it really significant? Yes!

 

In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition.

 

When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it…

 

The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished. Now, if the master were done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table.

 

The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant, 'I'm done.'

 

But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table, because……….. The folded napkin meant, 'I'm coming back!'

According to court documents, Gerardo Rafael Perez Jr. aka “Jerry,” 23, of Laredo, allegedly coordinated the acquisition of more than 100 firearms throughout Texas to be smuggled across the international border and delivered to a drug trafficking cartel in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Perez’s organization allegedly used straw purchasers, including co-defendants Francisco Alejandro Benavides aka “Frankie,” 23, and Mark Anthony Trevino Jr., 24, to procure the firearms from a variety of sources in the Western, Southern, and Northern Districts of Texas. Court documents allege that the organization would acquire guns from unlicensed dealers of firearms, or from federal firearm licensees, where straw purchasers would make false representations to secure the firearms.

At least 19 reported killed as Israeli forces fire on Gaza aid seekers

Government Funding Bill Signed By Biden Includes $3.8 Billion in Military Aid for Israel, Cuts Funding to UNRWA

The $1.2 trillion government funding package that President Biden signed into law on Saturday includes $3.8 billion in annual military aid for Israel and also cut funding for the UN’s Palestinian relief agency, UNRWA, as Gaza is on the brink of famine.

 

The US provides Israel with $3.8 billion in military aid each year under a 10-year Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Obama administration. The $3.8 billion is divided into two categories: $3.3 billion in Foreign Military Financing (FMF), which provides foreign governments with money to purchase US arms, and $500 million to fund Israeli missile defense systems.

 

The pro-Israel American lobby group AIPAC celebrated the signing of the funding bill and noted that the military aid for Israel is still unconditional. “Congress just passed, and President Biden signed into law, $3.3 billion in vital security assistance for Israel, without added political conditions,” AIPAC wrote on X. “This lifesaving support will help keep our ally safe and ensure Israel has the resources it needs to protect its families.”

 

The US continues to provide Israel with unconditional military aid despite the massive civilian casualties in Gaza and Israel’s restrictions on aid, which has caused severe levels of food insecurity among the Strip’s entire population.

 

In contrast, the US immediately suspended funding to UNRWA after Israel claimed without evidence that 12 of its employees participated in the October 7 attack. UNWRA said last week that some of its staff reported being tortured by Israeli forces into making false confessions about UNRWA’s relationship with Hamas.

 

“Some of our staff have conveyed to UNRWA teams that they were forced to (make) confessions under torture and ill-treatment. These false confessions were in response to questioning about relations between UNRWA and Hamas and involvement in the 7 October attack against Israel,” UNRWA spokeswoman Juliette Touma said in a statement.

 

The spending bill bans the funding of UNWRA until 2025. Instead of funding the UN agency, it provides $175 million in aid for Palestinians in the West Bank in Gaza that will go through the US Agency for International Development, which is $50 million less than what was allocated for Palestinians last year.

Learning from Ashleigh Banfield's Landon Lecture of April 2003

 

Early in 2003, Ashleigh Banfield was a star in the making. A rising journalist at MSNBC, she covered the opening stages of the Iraq War. Before that, she’d made a name for herself covering the 9/11 attacks and their aftermath. Smart, pretty, highly skilled, she was heading nowhere but up. Until she gave an honest lecture on her experiences in Iraq and the Middle East on April 24, 2003.

 

I’ve written before about Banfield’s honest and heartfelt critique of Iraq war coverage in the U.S. mainstream media, which won her no friends at NBC News. In fact, the NBC brass sidelined and essentially exiled her. I recently reread her Landon Lecture at Kansas State University and realized NBC wasn’t just angry about her critique of mainstream media war coverage: they were likely even more incensed at how she humanized and empathized with Palestinians and other Middle Eastern peoples and groups, including organizations like Hezbollah.

 

Here’s some of what she had to say back then in 2003:

 

But it’s interesting to be able to cover this [Israel and Palestine]. There’s nothing in the world like being able to cross a green line whenever you want and speak to both sides of a conflict. I can’t tell you how horrible and wonderful it is at the same time in the West Bank and Gaza and Israel. There are very few people in this world who can march right across guarded check points, closed military zones, and talk to Palestinians in the same day that they almost embedded with Israeli troops, and that’s something that we get to do on a regular basis.

 

And I just wish that the leadership of all these different entities, ours included, could do the same thing, because they would have an eye opening experience, horrible and wonderful, all at the same time, and it would give a lot of insight as to how messages are heard and how you can negotiate. Because you cannot negotiate when someone can’t hear you or refuses to hear you or can’t even understand your language, and that’s clearly what’s happening in a lot of places in the world right now, the West Bank, Gaza and Israel, not the least of which there’s very little listening and understanding going on. Our language is entirely different than theirs, and I don’t just mean the words. When you hear the word Hezbollah you probably think evil, danger, terror right away. If I could just see a show of hands. Who thinks that Hezbollah is a bad word? Show of hands. Usually connotes fear, terror, some kind of suicide bombing. If you live in the Arab world, Hezbollah means Shriner. Hezbollah means charity, Hezbollah means hospitals, Hezbollah means welfare and jobs.

 

These are not the same organizations we’re dealing with. How can you negotiate when you’ re talking about two entirely different meanings? And until we understand – we don’t have to like Hizbullah, we don’t have to like their militancy, we don’t have to like what they do on the side, but we have to understand that they like it, that they like the good things about Hizbullah, and that you can’t just paint it with a blanket statement that it’s a terrorist organization, because even when it comes to the militancy these people believe that militancy is simply freedom fighting and resistance. You can’t argue with that. You can try to negotiate, but you can’t say it’s wrong flat out.

 

And that’s some of the problems we have in dealing in this war in terror. As a journalist I’m often ostracized just for saying these messages, just for going on television and saying, “Here’s what the leaders of Hezbullah are telling me and here’s what the Lebanese are telling me and here’s what the Syrians have said about Hezbullah. Here’s what they have to say about the Golan Heights.” Like it or lump it, don’t shoot the messenger, but invariably the messenger gets shot.

The Milwaukee Election Commission and the Milwaukee Public Library received a $250,000 grant, while the commission received a separate $785,850 grant from the nonprofit Cities Forward for election administration.

 

Milwaukee has accepted more than $1 million in "Zuckerbucks" — the injection of private money into public election administration — just weeks before Wisconsin residents will vote on whether to ban such funds.

 

The city of Milwaukee, which previously accepted “Zuckerbucks” in 2020, has received a new form of the private funding over two separate grants just weeks prior to Wisconsin voters deciding whether to approve a state constitutional amendment banning “Zuckerbucks.”

 

Last Tuesday, Milwaukee accepted a $786,850 grant for the 2024 election from Cities Forward, a nonprofit that started last May, according to an IRS document.

The grant includes funding for two new Election Systems & Software ballot tabulators at $146,375 each, a $37,500 text messaging service that would allow the city to contact registered voters and correct misinformation, 50 ExpressVote machines at $211,250 for early voting and as an accessibility aid on Election Day, and $147,000 for 210 Android smartphones for voting site directors to send photos or videos of equipment issues and more easily ask for supplies, according to Urban Milwaukee.

 

Milwaukee Election Commission Executive Director Claire Woodall told Urban Milwaukee earlier this month that the text messaging service is for the election commission “to make sure any information anyone in the city is having about voting is accurate and broken down in a way that anyone can understand,” and that well-intentioned groups can still provide guidance that is inaccurate or difficult to understand.

 

Cities Forward also gave the Milwaukee Election Commission and the Milwaukee Public Library a $250,000 grant for 2024 for a “non-partisan public education campaign … to increase civic connection among residents.”

The campaign includes “Encourag[ing] ALL residents to register to vote, sign up to vote by mail, vote early, and update their state ID/driver's licenses by providing non-partisan, easy-to-understand resources.”

 

The grant will fund a new website and street outreach for the campaign.

 

“At the library, when people are registering for a new library card, they will also be asking ‘do you want us to help us register you to vote today?’” Woodall said regarding the campaign that the grant would fund.

 

She also explained that the Milwaukee Health Department would implement a similar strategy at its clinics. This private funding of elections is similar to what the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) did in Wisconsin and other states in 2020.

 

CTCL poured about $350 million into local elections offices managing the 2020 election, with most of the funds donated to the nonprofit by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. The nonprofit has claimed its 2020 election grants — colloquially known as "Zuckerbucks" — were allocated, allegedly without partisan preference to make voting safer amid the pandemic.

 

However, a House Republican investigation found that less than 1% of the funds were spent on personal protective equipment. Most of the funds were focused on get-out-the-vote efforts and registrations. Controversy ensued in part due to the disproportionate private funding "Zuckerbucks" funneled to Democratic jurisdictions.

 

Opponents claim the imbalance helped sway the 2020 election in Biden's favor, and as a result, 27 states have either restricted or banned the use of private money to fund elections, while at least 12 counties have also restricted or banned the funds, according to the Capital Research Center.

The U.S. government said that Assange's actions went way beyond those of a journalist gathering information and put lives at risk in his bid to solicit, steal and indiscriminately publish classified government documents.

 

The Australian computer expert has been held in a British high-security prison for the past five years.

 

Assange’s family and supporters say his physical and mental health have suffered during more than a decade of legal battles, including taking refuge in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London from 2012 until 2019.

 

“Julian is a political prisoner and he has to be released,” said Stella Assange, who married the WikiLeaks founder in prison in 2022.

 

Assange’s lawyers say that he could face up to 175 years in prison if convicted, though American authorities have said the sentence is likely to be much shorter.

Why does anyone feel the need to smear and slander Christians for saying Christ is King?

What is really motivating the attempt intimidate and guilt shame them into suppression of speech?

Nobody who ever lived, nor anyone alive today, nor anyone who will ever will live is excluded from the statement.

When certain voices are so confident that saying "Christ is King" is IN ALL INSTANCES a secret code of hatred, division and conflict, the minds behind those voices are themselves introducing hatred, division and conflict whether they admit it or not, whether they're aware of it or not.

What those voices SHOULD say is the truth, that while there may be some voices who betray Jesus' message and say "Christ is King" as a method to insult or mock people, contrary to the message itself 'becoming' a 'dog whistle' in all instances, what is happening there is that the voices using that statement to mock and insult are themselves introducing division and conflict.

When you have one person viewing the introduction of the statement as a weapon used by Jew haters, and you have another person viewing the reaction to the statement as a weapon used by Christian haters, well you can easily see how the true messages of Jesus can get forgotten.

Evil does not define the Good, period end of story. The idea that Christ is King is bullet proof and invincible and not redefinable just because you have haters weaponizing it.

It is wrong to weaponize it to mock and insult people to suppress their speech, just as it is wrong to weaponize it by labelling all instances of it as mockery and insult to suppress their speech.

1:29 PM PT Law enforcement sources tell TMZ this case is being handled out of the Southern District of New York. Reports say this appears to be tied to sex trafficking allegations which have been levied against Diddy in recent months from different plaintiffs.

FOX11 has posted video that appears to show several individuals in handcuffs near the property – and a couple of them appear to be Diddy's sons, Justin and King Combs.

TMZ has obtained additional footage that shows federal agents rolling up to Diddy's via water. The video shows armed agents standing on a boat, and they too appear to be armed.

Diddy is in the crosshairs of law enforcement on both coasts of America – as federal agents have descended on his Beverly Hills home.
