Reminds me of when I stumbled on to an academic research article on the age of consent with some communist celebrating increasing the age of consent and commenting about how much work it took to get it raised. Didn't do any digging on communicity of the author at the time, just a guess based on what I had read. Any blanket age of consent law over 14 is anti-human. The Germans might have the best approach to handling this.
