NEW: Police in Omaha say a 3-year-old boy was rescued after a violent abduction at a Walmart in Nebraska, where a woman stabbed the child and threatened him with a knife.

 

Officers responded to reports of an active incident and say they found the suspect, 31-year-old Noemi Guzman, holding the child and refusing repeated commands to stand down. According to police, she had a prior history of serious violent incidents, including an attack on her father and arson, and had previously been found not guilty by reason of insanity.

 

Authorities say the suspect slashed the child during the confrontation, prompting officers to open fire in order to stop the threat and rescue the boy.

 

Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said the responding officers “acted with professionalism and direct action to intervene and save a child’s life.”

Buried inside the Farm Bill is an amendment backed by 29 members of Congress that would effectively ban hunting with dogs nationwide. No hounds for bear, no rabbit dogs, no coonhunting, no field trials.

 

It was pushed through on a voice vote, disguised as an anti-greyhound racing bill while the real impact on hunting was barely discussed. This is a direct attack on one of the oldest hunting traditions in America.

 

We need to stop it now. Call your representatives and demand this amendment be removed from the Farm Bill. Make it clear hunters are paying attention.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday again threatened to fire Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and saidthe probe into the renovation of the central bank’s headquarters needs to continue.

 

If Powell stays on as a Fed governor after his successor is confirmed, Trump said he’ll have him removed from office.

 

“Then I’ll have to fire him,” the president said during an interview on Fox Business.“If he’s not leaving on time — I’ve held back firing him. I’ve wanted to fire him, but I hate to be controversial. I want to be uncontroversial.”

 

Powell’s term as chair expires May 15, and Trump has nominated former Fed Governor Kevin Warsh as his successor.

 

Though Powell’s time as chair is nearly finished, he has two years remaining on his term as governor. Thoughmost Fed chairs in the past have left the central bank after being replaced, Powell has demurred under repeated questions on what he plans to do.

 

Powell’s exit as chair has been complicated by an investigation into the Fed headquarters renovation. U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro tried issuing a subpoena to Powell for information regarding the project but was rebuffed by a judge, a decision she said she would appeal.

 

At the same time, Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., said he will block Warsh’s nomination from leaving the Senate Banking Committee until the probe is finished. Powell said he will stay on as chair until a successor is confirmed, consistent with Fed policy.

 

Trump said the investigation into the construction project must continue.

 

“What they’ve done to that so it is probably corrupt,but what it really is is incompetent, and we have to show the incompetence of that,” he said.

 

Last year, Trump tried to replace Governor Lisa Cook following accusations of mortgage improprieties, but has been unsuccessful so far. The case has been argued before the U.S. Supreme Court and is awaiting a decision.

 

The president also repeated his calls for lower interest rates and said he’s confident Warsh will make that happen.

Massie has been outspoken against the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and its influence on American politics, and in December 2023 tweeted out a meme appearing to contrast Zionism with American patriotism.[102]

In May 2024, AIPAC and allied groups announced a $300,000 ad campaign targeting Massie for perceived “anti-Israel views” while not officially endorsing any primary challenger.[103]

Massie responded by posting a poll on X asking his followers whether AIPAC should be forced to register as a foreign agent.[104]

DOJ officials attempt to 'tour' the Fed's renovations as probe stalls

The unannounced "check on progress" visit could further gum up the Senate confirmation of Kevin Warsh, President Donald Trump’s nominee to chair the Fed.1/2

 

Prosecutors working for Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C., made anunannounced visit to the headquarters of the Federal Reserve on Tuesday.

 

Three officials from Pirro’s office arrived at the Fed's headquarters construction site in downtown Washington and said theywanted a “tour," Robert Hur, the central bank's outside counsel, told Pirro’s officein an email, which was seen by NBC News.

 

Pirro’s deputies also said theywanted to “check on progress” in the years long renovation of the Fed's historic buildings overlooking the National Mall, Hur said.

 

Hur indicated in his email Tuesday thatinvestigators were turned away from the site. The attempted visit was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

 

The surprise move by Pirro's office came as its investigation into Fed Chairman JeromePowell’s congressional testimony last year about the Fed's renovation project has been rapidly losing steam.

 

The probe first broke into public view in January, when Powell announced that subpoenas had been served to the central bank.

 

“The threat of criminal charges is a consequence of the Federal Reserve setting interest rates based on our best assessment of what will serve the public, rather than following the preferences of the president,” Powell said in a Sunday night video statement in January.

 

On March 13, Judge James Boasberg, the chief judgeof the U.S. District Court for Washington, D.C.,agreed with Powell.

 

In a ruling, Boasberg blocked the subpoenas that Pirro’s office had served on the Fed, saying that“the Government has produced essentially zero evidence to suspect Chair Powell of a crime.” (How would he no it, they won’t show evidence of crimes before anything in unfinished info.)

 

On Tuesday, Hur pointed to Boasberg's ruling in his email.

 

"As you know, Chief Judge Boasberg has concluded thatyour interest in the Federal Reserve’s renovation project was pretextual," he wrote.

 

"Should you wish to challenge that finding, the courts provide an avenue for you;it is not appropriate for you to try to circumvent it."

 

Pirro lost a second attempt to revive the quashed subpoenas on April 3.Her office could appeal to a higher court, but it has not yet done so.

 

Hur concluded, "I ask that you commit not to seek to communicate with my client outside the presence of counsel.”

 

Pirro suggested in a statement Tuesday night that the investigatorswere justified in having tried to inspect the renovation project despite the judge's ruling.

 

“Any constructionproject that has cost overruns of almost 80% over the original construction budget deserves some serious review,” she said. “And these people are in charge of monetary policy in the United States?”

"All evidence I've seen, all fingers point in the direction of having this wrapped up in the next few weeks," Scott said on Fox Business Network.

 

On Wednesday morning, Trump said on Fox Business Network thathe wanted the probe to continue, andalso indicated there were other motives at play other than finding criminal wrongdoing.

 

"It's more than a criminal probe, Trump said. "It's a criminal probe, I guess, butit's also probe into incompetence."

 

Trump continued, "So it is probably corrupt, but what it really is is incompetent, and we have to show the incompetence of that."

 

Trump also claimed thatPowell "headed" the renovation "job."

 

However, the project was first approved by the board of the Fed in 2017, one year before Powell assumed the role of chair. The Office of Inspector General of the Federal Reserve has reviewed the project at least twice. Those reports did not find any wrongdoing.

 

As of Tuesday night, Warsh's confirmation vote was still blocked.

 

"Kevin's a perfect candidate, and that's why it's so frustrating that somebody in DOJ in February decided that they were going to maybe garner favor from somebody in the White House by trying to invoke a criminal investigation against Jerome Powell," Tillis told NBC News in an interview, also on Tuesday.

 

"I don't want to reward bad behavior," Tillis added. "Recognize there's not sufficient evidence to continue a criminal investigation, end it, and I will vote for Kevin Warsh." (KEK, Tillis has more bad behavior than anyone in the Senate, how did he get millions or even billion dollars, as a Senator? I can’t when Tillis’s crimes are revealed.)

 

Late Tuesday, Tillis posted a photo on social media of the Three Stooges with the caption "The U.S. Attorney’s Office for D.C. at the crime scene."

What actually shipped

Autonomi 2.0 is a wholesale upgrade. The architecture has been restructured into separated layers - transport, DHT, trust, identity, applications - each reinforcing the security of the others. Running a node from home now works the way it should. In 2.0, native QUIC handles NAT traversal without STUN or ICE. No port forwarding. No configuration. No technical barrier. If only sophisticated operators can run nodes, the network is not genuinely decentralised. This fixes that at the architecture level.

Why now

Two things are converging.

AI agents - not chatbots, but autonomous systems that reason, plan, and act - need infrastructure they can trust. Somewhere to store data, discover capabilities, and collaborate without depending on centralised cloud services that recreate the exact surveillance and control problems Autonomi was designed to solve.

Meanwhile, adversaries are harvesting encrypted data today, intending to decrypt it when quantum computers are capable enough. Filecoin, Arweave, Storj - still running on classical cryptography. The data stored there has an uncertain future.

Autonomi closes both gaps. Permanently.

We could have launched and said "it works, go figure out what to do with it." But hope is not a strategy.

Wow, you guys did it, this is huge! Everyone’s data can now be stored permanently, encrypted so not even a quantum computer can break it, on everyday computers with no company in the middle that can lose it, sell it or take it away. This is what the internet was supposed to be!

President Donald Trump has considered the possibility thatconservative Justice Samuel Alito might step down later this year, giving him the ability to nominate a fourth justice to the Supreme Court.

 

Trump said he has a list of potential candidates in mind if a seat opens on the nine-justice bench this year. And when asked about the importance of thepossibility of Alito stepping down while Republicans are in controlof the Senate, Trump pointed to how Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death in 2020 shifted the court.

 

“Ginsburg could not do it, and she really hurt herself within the Democrat Party,” Trump told Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo in an interview that aired on Wednesday.“People are very angry at her, because I got to appoint people instead of Biden.”

 

Trump was referencing Ginsburg’s decision to remain on the court during the Obama administration. When Ginsburg died in September 2020 at the age of 87, thevacancy allowed Trump to quickly nominateand the GOP-led Senate to confirm Justice Amy Coney Barrett – solidifying a 6-3 conservative majority.

 

“She decided that she was going to live forever, and about two minutes after the election, she went out, and I got to appoint somebody,” Trump said.

 

Trump said hedidn’t know whetherAlito or Justice Clarence Thomas would actually step down. Supreme Court justices are appointed for life,and their decisions about retirement are often personal and shrouded in secrecy. Neither justice has indicated their plans.

 

Alito did not respond to a request for comment.

 

Alito, 76, is the second-oldest justice on the court next to Thomas, 77 – another reliable conservative. There’s beenspeculation for months over whether Alito will retirein time for Trump to appoint a replacement and for a Republican Senate to confirm a new justice to guarantee the seat is not blocked by Democrats and filled by a potential Democratic president in 2029.

 

Trump said on Wednesday he didn’t know whether there would be a vacancy by the end of the year but that Alito was in “very good physical health.” CNN reported this month that Alito was taken to a hospital after becoming ill recently at a dinner in Philadelphia. The court said Alito was treated for dehydration and he has been active participant in oral arguments since then.

 

“Justice Alito is an unbelievable justice and a brilliant judge as justice, and he gets the country, you know, he does what’s right for the country,” Trump said.

 

Trump named three justices to the Supreme Court during his first term – Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Barrett.The 6-3 conservative-liberal balance of the court would not likely change if Trump had an opportunity to replace Alito or Thomas, but it would allow the president to appoint someone with their ideology who presumably would be on the bench for generations. Both have been frequent votes in favor of Trump’s policies on immigration, transgender issues and executive power.

 

Both Alito and Thomas, for instance, dissented from the court’s decision in February that shut down Trump’s emergency global tariffs – a decision that has prompted fiery recriminations from the president ever since.Two of his nominees– Kavanaugh and Barrett – supported that ruling.==

 

In the interview Wednesday, Trump repeated his criticism of the court’s conservative majority even though those justices have handed the president a series of high-profile wins in recent years on the emergency docket and inmajor merits appeals, including the decision to grant former presidents immunity from criminal prosecution for official actions.

 

“And the liberals do stick together. There’s one thing about those justices, they stick together like glue, not like the Republicans,” he said.

 

President George W.Bush named Alito to the Supreme Court, where he has served since 2006. He has regularly sided with prosecutors, religious entities, gun rights and anti-abortion groups. Four years ago, Alito drew national attention for writing the majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organizationthat overturned decades-long precedent establishing the right to have an abortion called Roe v. Wade.

 

The Supreme Court is turning to its busiest time of the year, with the justices drafting decisions in the most significant cases of the term – many of which involve Trump’s policies.The court is currently considering Trump’s power to fire the leaders of independent agencies, including theFederal Reserve, as well as hiseffort to end automatic birthright citizenship.

Astrophotographer Josh Dury captured a magnificent view of comet C/2025 R3 (PanSTARRS) glowing in the predawn sky among the stars of the constellation Pegasus on April 12.

PanSTARRS' bright, central nucleus was photographed rising low over the Mendip Hills nature reserve in Somerset, England, as light pollution created a false dawn in the long-exposure image.

 

The comet's sweeping tail extends over approximately 10 degrees of sky — roughly the equivalent of your clenched fist held at arm's length — created as reflective material from the nucleus is pushed outward and shaped by charged particles flowing outward from the sun, known as the solar wind.

It was, in some ways, a meeting of the ancients. Dury chose the Mendip Hills as the location of his shoot because of its links to the distant past.

 

The region was home to the remains of "Cheddar Man", a roughly 10,000-year-old skeleton discovered in 1902 and later became the oldest British individual to have his genome sequenced, according to the University College London.

Comet PanSTARRS meanwhile, has a history that stretches back billions of years to the formation of the solar system. "The story and age of this comet is harrowing," Dury told Space.com.

With an estimated inbound orbital period of around 170,000 years, the comet likely originates from the distant Oort Cloud — a shell of icy objects that surrounds our parent star at a distance ranging between 10,000-100,000 times the Earth-sun divide, according to NASA.

 

"Its passage from the Oort Cloud makes some of the earliest primitive finds of Britain minuscule through the ravages of time," continued Dury.

The comet is currently bright enough to be seen with the naked eye as a hazy patch of light from a dark sky location, ahead of its close brush with the sun during perihelion on April 19-20. A pair of 10X50 binoculars will help to reveal its glowing nucleus and perhaps a hint of its tail.

Dury was able to reveal the beauty of its tail by capturing 33 separate long-exposure images with his Sony A7S III camera and Sigma 135mm F/1.4 lens, before combining and editing them using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to increase the signal-to-noise ratio.

Bank of New York Mellon will manage the initial accounts and has partnered with Robinhood to develop a Trump accounts app, according to an earlier announcement.

Directed by British filmmaker Tim Lambert ("Guns, Germs and Steel," "Alien Worlds"), the new documentary "Return to the Moon" will air on PBS stations tonight (April 15) at 9 p.m. (8 p.m. Central) to offer a captivating behind-the-scenes examination of NASA’s Artemis program and its engineering challenges as the endeavor moved from 2022’s uncrewed Artemis 1 mission and its unexpected Orion heat shield concerns, to April 1's liftoff of Artemis 2.

 

"We wanted to somehow do justice to the extraordinary ambition of the Artemis program and try to chart and chronicle the mission from beginning to end, from soup to nuts, or design to splashdown if that’s more appropriate," Lambert tells Space.com.

"To be an observational documentary eye and follow what’s going on. It's difficult doing that with NASA because it's hard getting access to all the things you need access to.

Everything has to go through protocol and export control and then it’s just a matter of finding the right moments and piecing bits together."

 

"Return to the Moon" targets the design and manufacture of NASA's massive Space Launch System (SLS) rocket with an attention to detail that delivers the titanic core stage right into your living room.

“When we started, we wanted to get very close to the astronauts and the whole idea that we’re heading toward the first woman and the first person of color on the moon and it seemed like a diversity project when we were back in the Biden days,” he explains.

"That's sort of downplayed now in the Trump days. NOVA's executives were more interested in the idea of the engineering, and we realized this is kind of a science and engineering show.

 

"So that nudged us more towards talking to engineers and see behind the scenes, and in a way it's a very good thing.

Lambert is old enough to remember the Apollo 11 moon landing in July 1969. As a kid his parents dragged him out of bed to witness that event live on TV.

"They landed on the moon at night time here in England," he recalls. "We were woken up and told it was really important. I became an Apollo nut after that even though I was only six or seven.

Like every other kid I wanted to be an astronaut. So for me it's like, 'Wow, we're certainly going back there.' We wonder why it took so long, but now we're here. It feels like a new age of inspiration.

Whether Artemis and its huge ambitions can deliver or not remains to be seen. Not to plant a flag and pick up some rocks, but to actually put down a moon base is like science fiction.

That to me is the inspiration, and I hope we get a little of that across in the film."

Expedition 74 Opens Cygnus XL and Unpacks Advanced Science Gear

The hatches are open between Northrop Grumman’s second Cygnus XL cargo spacecraft and the International Space Station following its robotic capture and installation on Monday.

The Expedition 74 crew is now beginning to unload some of the new science and crew supplies delivered on Monday.

 

NASA flight engineers Chris Williams and Jack Hathaway were the first crew members to enter Cygnus XL on Tuesday after a series of pressure and leak checks inside the spacecraft.

They were joined soon after by flight engineers Jessica Meir of NASA and Sophie Adenot of ESA (European Space Agency) transferring time critical research samples stowed in Cygnus’ portable science freezers for preservation in the station’s MELFI science freezers and the MERLIN incubators.

 

Among the several tons of cargo Cygnus XL delivered Monday are over 2,300 pounds of new research hardware and science experiments.

The crew will soon begin exploring blood stem cells to treat cancers and blood disorders, study ways to protect astronaut gut health, observe proteins suspended in water to advance pharmaceutical production, and install a quantum physics module to expand the abilities of the Cold Atom Lab.

Other gear delivered aboard Cygnus XL include an advanced exercise system from ESA, new eye-imaging hardware, oxygen and nitrogen tanks to recharge spacesuits, and more.

 

Meanwhile, the Roscosmos Progress 93 resupply ship is nearing the end of its stay after seven months docked to the Zvezda service module’s aft port.

Cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev, station commander and flight engineer, spent the day packing trash and obsolete equipment inside Progress before its departure later this month.

The duo also configured the spacecraft’s docking hardware for the upcoming undocking activities.

 

Roscosmos flight engineer Andrey Fedyaev kicked off his shift collecting air samples inside Cygnus XL shortly after Williams and Hathaway opened the spacecraft’s hatch to protect the station’s environment.

Fedyaev then spent the rest of his shift maintaining the Roscosmos segment’s orbital plumbing and ventilation systems.

Today, the House of Representatives will vote on whether to renew the surveillance authority that was used to destroy my life and undermine a presidential transition. Before that vote happens, every member of Congress needs to hear the truth, not the talking points from the intelligence community, not the fear-based warnings from agency lobbyists, but the unvarnished reality of what this system has already done to American citizens.

In late 2016, early 2017, my private but very legal communications were collected, unmasked, and illegally leaked to a press corps that was more than willing to serve as the enforcement arm of a political operation. I was not targeted because I had committed a crime. I was not targeted because I posed a threat to national security. I was targeted because I represented an incoming administration that the permanent bureaucracy had decided it could not tolerate. The same agencies charged with protecting America used their surveillance architecture to protect themselves from political accountability.

 

That is what FISA enabled. That is what Congress is being asked to renew today.

 

Section 702 has never been just a counterterrorism tool. For years, it has functioned as a backstage pass for politically motivated surveillance. FBI agents have used it to query the communications of journalists, political donors, protesters, members of Congress, and ordinary private citizens, often with no connection to any foreign threat whatsoever. These are not isolated incidents or the work of rogue actors. The violations have been documented in the thousands. When abuse reaches that scale, the problem is the system, not the individuals operating within it.

Here’s my take on Q…

I believe it is a major psyop and from what I can tell, it or they or whatever or whoever is “running this op” has done a major disservice.

What I see are a bunch of people sitting and waiting for something to happen instead of doing what I have been calling for now for quite some time (LOCAL ACTION).

The nonsense about trump is still the president and the military is coming to the rescue is just that…nonsense.

I wasn’t belittling Dave (he’s a big boy), I was being brutally honest (like it or not or believe it or not).

Rome is burning Nero and the bucket brigade is getting low on water.

73 moon landings? NASA's 'Moon Base User's Guide' reveals the agency's 'most ambitious space project' will be fraught with challenges

NASA has released a 'Moon Base User's Guide' that reveals the major gaps the agency and its partners must fill in to land and live on the moon.

NASA has published a "Moon Base User's Guide" detailing the many challenges the agency will need to overcome for it to complete 73 planned moon landings and build a permanent lunar base.

The document, published April 6, is a bare-bones nine-page list of what NASA needs to achieve the "near-impossible" space plans announced March 24 at the agency's "Ignition" event.

 

NASA wants a torrent of robotic and uncrewed lunar missions — landing on the moon 21 times within the next three years alone — to lay the groundwork for its $20 billion moon base and prepare for the first crewed missions in 2028.

The space agency has also said it will launch a nuclear-powered "Freedom" spacecraft to Mars by 2028.

 

Although the splashdown of Artemis II's crewed lunar flyby last week demonstrated that NASA can still fly humans to the moon, the Moon Base User's Guide clearly highlights lots of gaps in NASA's current capabilities.

These limitations include aspects of landing systems, habitation systems and power systems — basically, everything humans need to land and live on the moon.

 

If it sounds fanciful, NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman seems to agree, telling attendees at the 2026 Space Symposium in Colorado Springs on April 14 that NASA does its best when it is "undertaking and achieving the near impossible," Space.com reported.

"We want to land lots of stuff, and it's okay if some of it breaks," he added. "We're going to learn."

 

The Moon Base User's Guide is part of a larger shake-up to American space plans. In recent years, NASA has struggled to get astronauts back to the moon and thereby set the stage for sending humans to Mars.

The success of Artemis II notwithstanding, the Artemis program is over budget (costing more than $100 billion thus far) and behind schedule, with NASA originally targeting a crewed moon landing in 2024.

 

Isaacman, who has been in his post since December 2025, is attempting to ramp up lunar activities to realize NASA's goals for the moon and Mars.

This overhaul includes scrapping work on humanity's first lunar space station, the lunar Gateway, to focus on establishing a presence on the lunar surface.

To achieve this, the Artemis program has been retooled to add a second crewed lunar landing mission in 2028, as well as ramping up launches and landings.

 

The guide was followed by an April 14 White House memorandum stating that "NASA will, within 30 days of this memorandum, initiate a program to develop a mid-power space reactor with a lunar fission surface power (FSP) variant ready for launch by 2030, and an option for a space variant for a nuclear electric propulsion (NEP) demonstration."

 

The backdrop for this shake-up, aside from Artemis's spiraling costs and delays, is the new space race.

China is threatening to overtake the U.S. as the leader in space exploration, with plans to land its own astronauts on the moon before 2030. And both nations are eyeing the same hydrogen-fuel-rich lunar south pole landing sites.

How to build a moon base

NASA's planned 73 moon landings will occur across three phases, according to the Moon Base User's Guide and previous Ignition documents.

It's unclear how many of these will be crewed, but NASA has said that it's starting with a rapid series of robotic and early uncrewed missions, while moon crew rotations are expected to be routine by Phase 3.

Phase 1 will comprise 25 launches and 21 landings to establish frequent and reliable access to the lunar surface. This phase is scheduled to be completed by 2029, according to NASA's Building the Moon Base plans, published March 24.

Phase 2, which is planned for between 2029 and 2032, will consist of a further 27 launches and 24 landings and will establish the initial moon base infrastructure and semiannual crewed missions.

Phase 3, from 2032 until an undisclosed future date, will then have another 29 launches and 28 landings to establish uncrewed cargo return technology and a continuous human presence on the moon.

 

Of course, this is considerably easier said than done. NASA famously landed humans on the moon as part of the Apollo missions more than 50 years ago.

However, building a base on the moon's south pole comes with many more challenges, starting with establishing the basics, like a consistent power source.

 

"The Moon Base elements and development will occur in the lunar South Pole region, which has an incredibly different lighting environment than the equatorial maria and highlands visited by Apollo," NASA wrote in the document.

"At the Moon Base, the Sun will remain low on the horizon, casting dramatic shadows that hinder solar electricity generation and subject systems to prolonged periods of extreme cold and dark."

NASA needs precise knowledge of lighting conditions and solar array performance to develop suitable solar power options, which will also need to be robust enough to survive contact with razor-sharp, electrified lunar dust.

 

The document also noted that NASA requires detailed knowledge of the lunar environment and systems that can operate there to use its radioisotope thermal generators — nuclear batteries that generate heat and electricity.

NASA's long-term plans for power also include building a nuclear reactor on the moon.

 

Simply landing on the moon as frequently as NASA plans also presents hurdles.

For example, the document notes that NASA needs to develop precision landing systems that can accurately measure the altitude of low-visibility terrain, as well as hazard avoidance systems.

Some of the power and landing gaps were flagged as architecture-driven technology gaps and will require "entirely new technologies or significant advancement in performance" of current technologies, according to the guide.

 

There are also unknowns barely mentioned in the document, such as the human body's response to long-term stays in the lunar environment.

These include the impacts of lunar dust, microgravity and cancer-causing cosmic rays, alongside logistical challenges related to life support, exercise and nutrition.

 

NASA writes that it is working on filling in the many technological and data gaps highlighted in the document. It also highlights "Mars-forward" considerations, which are the things NASA needs to develop with the moon program to achieve its ultimate aim of landing humans on Mars.

The Mars considerations included data on astronaut health in deep space and the development of nuclear power systems on the lunar surface.

These nuclear systems will be useful for building similar systems on Mars and benefit the development of NASA's planned nuclear-powered spacecraft, according to the document.

 

Only time will tell if NASA can achieve its ambitious plans, but recent history is not on the space agency's side.

Only two days after Artemis II's historic launch on April 1, the White House released a budget plan calling for a 23% cut in NASA's budget, amounting to around $5.6 billion.

And while NASA has said it will build its moon base on a $20 billion budget, the average estimated cost of a single Space Launch System rocket is $2.5 billion.

So the article is about the growing use of anti-depressants in Turkey. Reading it jarred loose another thought, namely what would be happening in these countries without them? Specifically what would the governments look like if the citizenry wasn't drugged into complacent apathy?

I am a firm believer in the old adage that actions speak louder than words, particularly when it comes to the government. So if the governments actions are to increasingly drug their citizens who are otherwise unhappy with the direction the government is taking things, then we can conclude it is not by coincidence. Rather it is part of their strategy.

There is evidence to suggest COVID was actually a population control event. Is it really a stretch to think governments would use other drugs to control the population?

I know I am probably preaching to the choir here but I felt compelled to actually state it for the record.
