Why go to the effort, when they could just pull anyone over and say "I smell the odor of alcohol" and then arrest them for a (false) DUI?

Staking out bars costs them $$$ in man power, but pulling over any sorry sap and falsely arresting them for DUI will earn them $1000.

>Take away Qualified Immunity, and this shit quickly stops.

THIS!

Trump fully supports police, but hopefully realizes that there are problems in the current system which encourage corruption.

Even if QI is pierced, and the defendant sues, then taxpayers foot the bill in the end anyway. Police officers should have to carry private liability insurance like businesses and doctors do. If they make a false arrest, and get sued and lose, their insurance rates skyrocket. This will weed out the bad ones pretty quickly.
