>>9504959 LB, re: possibility of the White House being burned
If it happens, don't lose hope. Let me explain, and I hope someone here more familiar with modern construction and/or building security will expand.
Without going into the complete historical details of the building, as most know, it was already burned by the British during the War of 1812, then rebuilt.
By the time President Harry Truman got there many decades later, structural engineers declared the whole place unfit for habitation or use:

Look closely at pic related. That's a dump truck and a bulldozer parked INSIDE the footprint of the White House.
Jackie Kennedy redecorated it with some fantastic early American antiques her society friends donated.
Fast forward 70 years from 1950. That's where we are today.
What kind of shape are those 70 year old floor & ceiling joists in now? The wall studs? Any dry rot? How about the plumbing? HVAC? Electrical? There's almost certainly the remnants of lead paint and asbestos hiding in there.
It actually makes sense to do a complete gut job and rebuild it from scratch, to bring it up to modern standards and provide the quality and quantity of electronic and security infrastructure that the White House really needs for the 21st century.
Seventy years is a long time. My house was built in 1990, and I've had to rip out and replace loads of shit already.
It really wouldn't be the end of the world. The visual would be freaking priceless, though. We gotta slap people upside the head and make them revolted by the idea of the Democrat Party for at least the next 50 years.
